Tony, The choices of foods will change in your journey. I would study the list and suggestions very closely. I guess I would get a GOOD cooler and carry with me when I was in a period where the selection in restaurants.. yogurt , fruit cups and pudding. I know you will be able to eat for example Special K Protein meal bars eventually . They will be easy. When you get to Soups you will love restaurants. yumm I would think you will order allacart. A baked potato. A pork chop. An Angus burger and throw away the bread. edie:D

    What was it like ?

My experience was little pain. I told them I am ready to walk that hall way. The nurse laughed and said lets let you drink something first. I slept all evening and night after my two hour ride home (about 430 pm) . Surgery was at 930 am . Woke up in recovery room at 10:15 am!!! I had soreness for next two days only when I forgot and bent over to pick up something (dog toys). Good luck, edie

    starting over

Make your house a safe house . Give away all the high calorie stuff. Stock up on sf fudge bars and sf popsicles. Change your taste buds. And of course exercise, exercise and exercise. Maybe 7 minute away from your house and 7 minutes back 3 times a day??? good luck edie

KEVORKIAN to be freed June 1 07!!!!!

Wow ayers , that was one powerful post. I wanted to post that along with wills and power of attorneys , my hubby and I have living wills. We also have appointed a third party to carry out our wishes if we both get hit in the head with a frying pan at the exact same time . lol sounds suspicious to me edie
  17. I had depression too. This isn't a trick but when I wanted to eat all the time, I started counting calories. Dang it I didn't want to go back into diet mode but I also wanted to succeed. I would cut myself off at around 1000 to 1100 and then let myself eat sf popsicle (banana from Krogers my fav) to fill up on. I ignored the calories for these because I would only eat 1 or two of them. I also found Orville Reddbacher Carmel Popcorn cakes for 40 cal each very filling. After a few weeks I could quit counting because I was in a routine and would know when to stop. After my first fill it was easy. I thought I had restriction after surgery but was I in for a surprise. I had my first fill 6 weeks after surgery. Just 2 fills in all. My doctor must have been aggressive with fills. I do not know any numbers for my fills or band. Tonight I ate 3/4 of small corn on the cob with lots of butter. I ate half a small chicken leg with lots of bbq sauce. That was at 5 pm and at 830 I am stilll not hungry. Hope this helps and wish I had tricks. edie

    a third of the way!

It is SO cool. I did percentages too. I also started staring at the free weights at my gym and thought to myself if I strapped 50 lbs weight on me, how HARD it would be to carry it all the time. Getting out of the car, the bed and (lol) up off the floor would take much effort. I remember. I thought my weight wasn't really keeping me down. I was in denial. Keep up the good job, edie

    Post op diet

Just a few suggestions... Try eating extra slowly. Nibble at your food. Maybe for some reason apple sauce is going to be a food you cannot tolerate. Try some other foods. edie
