I get a high from it. It feels so good. I feel very accomplished when I do it. The smaller number on my scales made me exercise more. It was like a domino effect. It helped my band so much. edie

confused re:diet before surgery
edieparks replied to LISA CATMEWSKI's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The REASON my surgeon gave me was to get my liver in tip top shape. He told me he had to touch/move my liver and this diet would make it easier on my liver . It said it would make it easier on me pain wise too. I was all over that like a big dawg. I bet a dog biscuit that is what your question was all about. edie -
I was AT my last straw. My size 4x dog grooming top was getting wore out. I could not find any more in size 4x. They had quit making my size. I looked at Beauty Supply sites and stores. I looked everywhere. I was considering making some out of shower curtains. I was going to have to buy 2(!!) shower curtains to make one smock. Then I heard about lap-band. I was saved. I now wear a very very comfortable M dog grooming smock. Thank you very much. edie

Hey gang, We have an option to move this thread and out posts to a new area. Instead of looking for this thread, we could go to monthly and go directly to it. Lets talk about it. If not that is ok too. Sometimes I do have to hunt this thread down. The new way would be a very direct way. I put JULY 2006 in search now. So it is 6 one way and half a dozen the other. On this monthly new section they have Jan 07 thru dec 07. It would kind of be cool to show July 06 participation on this new monthly section. How you get to this new section is start at home and look under main lap-band forums monthy support edie

Dear July 2006 bandsters, This new area with make it easier to hook up with you. Sometimes I have to search for you. Now I start at Home page. Look under Main Lap-band Forums. Look in Monthly Support. Lets keep current about ourselves to keep July 2006 on the first page of "today's posts". Thanks Alexandra (she set this all up), edie

Geez, It must be me. I went to the monthly section to see if july 2006 posts were in with july 2007 and I get the same blank for july 2007 last post. I am not complaining because I love this site. I'm just confused about my problem. -

Before my first fill , I could eat a 12 ounce Stoffers Mac n cheese and a pudding cup. After my fill is when I had true restriction. After fill I could only barely eat 1/2 of mac n cheese. My dog was thrilled. Before she would get 2 pieces of Pasta and lick the plastic tray. Also I could tell it was time for my second fill when I could eat more . I set the appt for second fill. Surgery July 19 06 First fill 6 weeks after surgery Second fill Dec 8 or 9 06 Goal Mar 07 down 105 now 115 best wishes edie -
I thought it would be fun to have a thread for new food products. I am recommending *****Lipton White tea with rasberry******* I have only tried the regular . It comes in sf too. Use this site to also thumbs up or thumps down for example. I have found it the cheapest at Sams. edie

Scale hasnt moved in one month
edieparks replied to Ready to Lose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Dear Ready, I had a plateau that lasted 4 weeks. It was so discouraging. I was keeping to about 1100 calories per day. I was walking 4 miles a day. I was even walking my dog and I go pretty slow with her because she has to smell everything... So really it was 6 miles most days. I was getting my flavored sf Water in. The girl at my gym assigned to me, told me to speed up my walking. She told me I was walking too much actually. Her suggestion to get past this plateau was to walk one fast lap and then 2 at normal speed, 1 fast lap and 2 normal speed. Sure enough within a week my scales dropped. best wishes, edie -
That is one funny joke. LOL edie

I can Water , pull weeds , go visit with neighbors outside and not break a sweat. I even sit outside in the shade (of course) and read. Before I would have to shower if I wanted to go anywhere else. It was like a workout. I even made a comment to my hubby about something I noticed and asked is that normal? He said well honey you didn't spend much time outside before. I missed out but not anymore. edie edie

Salsa chicken 4 chicken breasts cut into little bites , boil or pam a skillet and fry until just a little under done 1 large jar of your favorite salsa Add salsa to skillet and simmer while you fix rice. This is where the chicken is finished cooking. Add chicken and salsa on top of rice. Enjoy. Reheats well too. Low calorie and yummy. Dont overcook the chicken or it will be "Rubber Chicken Salsa" lol. edie Sometimes I use chicken tenders. The amount of chicken, salsa and rice to totally up to you.

Help me deal with loved ones who won't band
edieparks replied to edieparks's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes are so right Derby. That is where I have my pain. I cannot make them see the light. I am suffering for them in silence. I don't have a problem with large people. Hell I was morbidly obese for 20 years. It is their health I worry about. That is why I went for band. The looking better is a bonus. edie -
I only use Carnation Instant Breakfast meal . I love the taste . I would use 2% milk. Sometimes I buy Kroger comp brand. edie

Welcome, It helps so much to be able to discuss you problems and fears with people who have experienced it. It is nice to have a place to "brag" about your 50 lb loss or smaller clothes. Oh you will have lots of good things to post about. I fondly remember getting in the regular size department , size 18 jeans. No more plus. edie

Beautiful!! The clothing is so nice. Everyone looks so happy. edie

Welcome Deb, You will find out about the good, bad and ugly here . I couldn't have had such success without the knowledge and support I found here. edie -
Olive, It took me I think 6 weeks to lose the last 10 lbs. I knew it had to be about a plateau thingy. 11 lbs is like being at goal. Just consider this fine tuning. lol Don't pressure yourself about the anniversary date. If I hadn't went into mega exercise mode. 4 to 6 miles a day!! I thinks I would have just lost half of my 105 lbs in 8 months . I BURNED off those lbs. I hadn't admitted this before but at one time I had two friends asking me to walk with them too!! Lucky for me they would only walk 1 mile maybe. Eventually they fizzled out all together. Whew.. I wanted to support them. It drove my hubby nuts. I told him to relax those walks were what I considered "icing on the cake" of my daily program. You better believe I would lose 4lbs on each of those weeks. edie
