Hello, I was banded on Aug. 19th. I have absolutely no regrets, but, I am not losing as quickly as I think I should be. So far it's only about 12 lbs. I know it's better than gaining, but I feel like I am doing things the wrong way. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks for the kind words!
His facility is in Tiajuana. 10 min from SanDiego Airport. Its about $7,300 (that includes them picking you up from the airport and taking to back to the airport) and hotel stay for you and a guest aat one of the 5star hotels. Only extra $ is the flight. (if you dont already live in Cali that is..) I will def post after surgery! So def PM me after July 8 and we can chat! Check out his website.
Lap Band Surgery in Mexico - Dr. Ariel Ortiz at the Obesity Control Center
The site has everything, including a detailed description of what happens each day while you are there! you can also call them.. a specialist can answer ANY question you have. I always called Lori Wright..she was FANTASTIC..super sweet, always called me back! and I swear I was on the phone with her for 35 min asking questions! she had the procedure done 3 years ago.. when you call the # on the website, dial Ext 81..that hers.
GOOD LUCK!!

It's really embarassing that some people can be so ignorant.
Why wait until your 100+ over & then cry about yourself. I say get started as soon as you can.
I am still looking into getting the band, however I will be a self pay also. Therefore, I am trying to find the cheapest, safest place to go. I am thinking about Mexico too. Where is Dr. Ortiz practicing? Juarez is not far from me, but I'm really scared of that place. It's sooo nasty. Anyway, I really would like to know how your experience goes after it's a done deal.
