Wow I must have just missed you then lol I had a lady and her Mom in the next room, so it was nice to talk english with someone as you walk up and down the same halls. R u still there? I was given a tip. If you go over to the Applebee's (just dont walk past the darn McDonalds!)just ask for someone who speaks english, ask for the chicken tortilla soup, but just the brooth. Alot of people from the hotel order that, and it's a nice change from the shakes. Make sure your awake when you fly over MC, it's so amazing! Cheers!

Hi Jen May i suggest Muscle Milk from GNC. I tried quite a few different ones, but these are simply the best tasting. Right now I am drinkin one called Orange Creme, mix with skim milk and some crushed ice and it tastes just like an orange creamsicle! GNC has a great policy that if you dont like it you can exchange it, so that made me feel better as they are large containers. You wouldnt belive the flavors they have! It was the first time since my surgery that I actually felt hungry reading the labels!lol Banana Cream, cookiesn' cream, creme brule, rocky road, choc pecan ect. Hope it helps Cheers!

Hi Headin I just got back from Monterrey myself on Friday! What hotel r stayin at and who was your doc? Did you have your surgery at the Christus Muguerza? So sry to hear about your pain. I was absolutely amazed by how little pain I had (must be one of the lucky one's or a hellva good surgeon)I was walkin around 3hrs after and was able to sleep on my side the 2nd night.Oh I know what you mean by the language barrier. I thought my nurse wanted me to have a shower and take the bandaids off, so being an obedient canadian i did..whoops.Her eys lit up and they called another nurse in to put them back on.lol My doc (Dr.Horacio Guajardo) gave me a small bottle of Tradol which really keeps any pain away. My 5hr plane ride from MC was a long ride home but my belly spoke to me the whole way!lol Hope you have a safe trip home!

Hi fellow Bandsters! Thought i would join the site to share my experience. Im from Edmonton Alberta Canada, and have always been the fat kid.When I was 14 I weighed 245lbs and worked my way up to 265lbs by the time I was 17. I joined Weight Watchers and hit 210lbs by the time High school was over. Over the next ten years it was a roller coaster! When I went to college at 25 I got a little silly with the drinkin and by the time i graduated i was back up to 270lbs (have to admit it was alot of fun!).By the time I was 30 I hit the 300lbs mark. I keep tryin diets like Jenny Craig and am succefull, but i seem to drop 20 then a few months later gain 30.I now have a job in Sales, which i get paid to take customers out for food and drink. Im now 34 years old and have hit 349lbs! Im not even the same person anymore and I really miss the old me! I loved to socalize and travel the world (Australia, Cambodia, US, ect...). I never had a problem meeting women and could fit in with any group in a short amount of time. Now I just want to curl up in a dark cave and see no one!I could really care less if I wake up in the morning anymore. I had to turn the mirror around in my room so I dont have to disgust myself anymore. I cant live like this any longer! I have researched many options but found that the Lapband will work best for me. Im one of those people that never eat breakfast but will eat a truck when dinner comes around. I need this tool to help me with portion size more than anything. Unfortunately our Alberta Health Care system is a joke. Due to the fact that i am healthy as can be (aside the weight)it will take 2-3 years before i can have the surgery here in Edmonton. I have decided to go to Mexico to see Dr.Horacio Guajardo (worked for many years with Dr.Rumbaut) in Monterrey Mexico on July 14th 2009. He has personally called me to asure everything. Lisa and Brigitte (the Canadain and US patient relations) have been very no extremely helpfull. I have spent over 4hrs on the phone talking with Lisa for the past several weeks goin over every little detail. Sorry for the novel here, but i cant wait to start my journey here is 2 days! Great date to get it done Connie! Im scheduled for my band with Dr. Horacio Guajardo in Monterrey on July 14th as well. Only a couple more days eh! To bad our AHC is such a joke, couldnt wait 3yrs, so I decided to do the Mexico thing. Best of luck!
