I got my call from Dr. Enochs office today. My insurance BCBSNC ( my husband works at wakemed so we use his) is 100% covered with a 50.00 copay. I have to have it done at a WAKEMED facility and it has to be performed by Dr. Enochs, if it isn't it is 90% covered with a 250.00 copay. My consultation is July 28. I am finding that I am talking my self out of this. I am scared of dieing in surgery. I know with my weight he will probably suggest the RNY. I am so torn, and have alot to think about. Talk to you all later.

I went to the seminar last night. Angelica answered all of my questions. It use to be that insurance would deny you the lap band if your BMI was too high (bcbsnc) but not anymore. Also I just need 2 years documented weight history. I was torn between RNY and the lapband. After much thought, and prayer on my part I have decided for the band.

Thanks so much for responding. -
Your husband is a grown man. If he does not like what is on the table he can make his own dinner. Do this for you. Do what you need to do to be healthy. No more making cakes or all that stuff. Atleast not until you are able to not indulge.

I am going to Dr. Enochs seminar on July 2. I have a BMI of 69 ( weigh 455) and no comorbidities that I know of. With a higher BMI do you need the other? Thanks, Renee

Did you have the surgery at Wakemed Cary? I am attending the seminar on July 2 in Cary and was wondering if he did the surgeries at REX and Wakemed? Thanks, Renee
