  4. Hey there...thanks for the blog comment! Just wanted you to know that 3 months before a first fill is NOT common at all. I've never seen anyone who had to wait that long on this site. In our April '09 group here on LBT there are almost 400 members now and I haven't seen one person who hasn't at least had their first fill by now (most have had at least 2 by now and some 4 and even 5). I would get on the site of your band manufacturer (either Lap Band or Realize) and see if they list a recommendation for fill schedules there. It would give you some ammo for talking to your doc. Take a peak at the Fill Forum on the home page and you'll find lots of posts and polls even on timing for fills (I'd guess 6 weeks is probably more the average for the first fill). Good luck to you! -BG

    6/18/09 Restriction...Finding The Balance

I had my surgery one month ago. I still have the same cravings for food, nothing bothers me - I can eat anything. I never ever feel full. I called my doctor and was told that there would be no fills until at least three months and that this is common. I wish I knew this was common. I thought that I would feel full....I do not. What are some suggestions - chewing very slowly?
