    Just got an iPad

;)I'm Jealous! LOL I have an iPhone and I have calorie counter by FatSecret. It tracks weight, calories and has a zillion foods stored in the data base. Have fun with your iPad. If you get tired of it...send it my way

    I'm In Mexico!

    Newbie from New Jersey

Be sure to begin taking an Acid Reducer to help with the burning you feel in between meals. It helps A LOT. If over the counter doesn't work, call your doctor for a RX
  4. I didn't lose any hair with the band, although I had it in for only 3 months. I began losing hair around 3 months post op and still am...but it's not terrible. Good Luck with your surgery.

    I CAVED :-(

WE all have had days like that. Today is a brand new day...a day for you to stick to your program. Just think how great you will feel tomorrow with today under your belt!!!!
  6. I think the best thing to do it to see a nutritionist or your doctor. Some of them have a special scales that can actually calcutate your bone density, body fat and give you a personalize weight goal that is specific to you. My personal goal is to have NON touching thighs!! Congrats on your weight loss!
  7. When people don't know all the facts..they can make assumptions..It's called ignorance! We had a medical procedure to improve our health. Is taking medication for type 2 diabetes taking the easy way out?? Is taking meds for depression the easy way out?? Is wearing a mask for sleep apnea the easy way out?? I could go on and on.... A friend of mine had to do TWO days of Clear liquids to get ready for a colonoscopy and told me she had new respect for me. She could barely do it!!! I went over 4 weeks without solid foods!! Keep on your track to good health and surround yourself with positive and supportive people
  8. I think that along with the sleeve surgery you should look into joining a group like Overeaters Anonymous or go seek therapy for compulsive overeating. I was well on my way to being super obese and would eat 8 candybars in one day. I had a year and a half of therapy in a group setting for people with food issues. It has helped me tremendously. You have to ask WHY you eat the way you do and learn tools to re-train your brain. There are certain foods that you will not be able to have in your house but that's okay. The good thing is that you will physically be unable to eat a lot of food. Its now time to nuture yourself and love yourself. Good Luck Nina

    Major Complications

I think it's wonderful how much you are there for your fiancee'. I am praying she continues to feel better and gets stronger every day. After a few months, she will be feeling great and can put this all behind her
  10. I never like the 'watch and see" game. Get yourself a second opinion!! Good Luck
  11. 70 pounds down and I am officially just "overweight"!! Goodbye Obesity..I will not miss you. Next goal....NON-touching thighs!

  12. Save your money!! I take 2 Flintstones a day. They taste good, are inexpensive and DON"T bother your tummy. I've just had full bloodwork and all my levels were fine, so I know the vitamin is doing the trick. My doctor tells all his patients to take them.
  13. A tummy tuck and laser eye correction is on my menu. After my weight has stabilized and I'm over a year out...I'm going for the tuck first!!!!

    NEED YOUR HELP

Buy some Beneprotein. You can add it to foods. It's flavorless and can be added to heated food. The cheapest I've seen it was at www.medco.com

    Meatloaf considered mushy food?

I would say yes if it's moist and you maybe added gravy to it.

    I've been lying

I have to tell you...I have been eating 900 to 1000 calories a day. I track but my doctor does not require it. I have had a couple stalls but overall I am happy with my weight loss. I do exercise. In 4 months, I am down 67 pound. Just my opinion but I think if it's too low, I won't lose weight.
  17. Remember that this surgery is just a TOOL!! You are losing slowing due to the choices and portions you are eating. If you follow the plan and stick no NO CARBS...you will be full longer and have more energy. Maybe you should seek out a weekly support group to help you through this. Try to stay away from breads, especially rolls from Subway. They offer you no nutrition. Good Luck..no one said this would be easy!
  18. I am so glad to hear you are feeling better. I hope that scope works. I just read on another post about a person who had the same problem as you..

  19. So sorry you are going through this Erin. You are the second person recently whose stomach has healed in a L shape. I wonder how that happens?? We are all pulling for you and hoping this all works out!! ((HUGS)) Nina
  20. 68 pounds down and 37 pounds to go!! I am getting close to goal This journey has been amazing!!! I fit into a SIZE 10 jeans today!!!!

  21. I am interested is the reason why this happened. Did the stomach just heal that way? Did your doctor use a bougie to guide the shape of the pouch??? Hope you continue to tolerate food and feel well.

    Coconut

I was told by the doctor to steer clear of coconut. There is no food that bothers me at this point (4 months out), but I am not chancing it. I have had celery with no problems. But to be honest, the only time I had coconut is with a chocolate bar so there's no reason for me to have it now anyway

    Lapband 1st

Yes, I had the LapBand and now have the sleeve. Sleeve is SO MUCH BETTER. You live your life like a normal person. No horrible food stuck feeling. I just get full fast and have lost almost 70% if my excess weight in 4 months. My doctor was prepared for an open procedure in the event that I had too much scar tissue but all worked out well. I had it laprascopic and did great. Recovery is much more involved than band tho. First couple days are rough but it gets better good luck
  24. Too too early. The fact that you are even on soft solids even surprises me. I was on clear liquids for 10 days!!!. You will have plenty of chances to enjoy wine once your tummy is healed.

    Can I Just Quit Now????

Don't move onto the next stage...you are soo not ready. Seems like you are overdoing it. Ask for help with the laundry or wear stuff until you are naked. My doctor told me this surgery is like hitting the "control, alt, delete button" on your body and he wasn't kidding. Try to keep yourself busy with reading, watching TV I got sick of the sweet taste too. What I did was I did a day of unjury chicken Soup and unsweetened decaf tea. Believe it or not, the worst days are over and it will get better. I also had beef and vegetable broth too. You have every right to whine....we all did it!! Keep hydrated and before you know it .... you will be on puree....
