  7. Thank you for sharing your story. Congrats on your anniversary and your beautiful and growing family. You have been such a source of support for myself and many others. I am so happy you are having a wonderful pregnancy! Nina
  8. I am just about to hit 75 pounds off. I joined Planet Fitness in addition to working with my trianer. I must work on my abs and stomach. 25 pounds until goal!

  9. I have lost about 75 pounds and have lost of loose skin sound my stomach and between my thighs (UGH). I have been working out HARD! I work with a trainer, spin and do the eliptical machine each week. I am hoping it tightens up. My doctor said once I am a year out and have reached goal, he will referr me. Covered or not, I AM going to get a tummy tuck. Hopefully, it would help with the multiple scars I have from 3 surgerys (2 lapband, and one sleeve). I am hoping for a flat stomach!

    feelin sad :(

It's totally normal feeling this way. Don't get in the mindset of what you WON'T have Think of what you will have!!!! FYI---I went out today and ordered a personal pizza...except I asked for it made on a wheat wrap with broccoli!! Ate 1/2 ----I have had a burger....but without the bread. Your life will be great...Food will not longer be the main focus!!!
  11. 5 Months out and 73 pound gone!! I was an 18/20 and now I am a size 12! Never have been this size in my adult life!!

  12. And for those of you who love to cook...go to www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com The girl, Shelly who runs the site, loves to cook and creates beautiful and delicious recipes! You can still make healthy meals..
  13. food was there to fill the emotional wall you put up around yourself. Now you can TRULY EXPERIENCE LIFE!!! You can allow yourself to love and be loved by others!! My last birthday before VSG was my 40th. I was embarassed at my own surprise party because I was so fat. I didn't think people truly cared about me. I put an emotional wall around myself. Now---I am living life to the fullest and you should too!!
  14. Glad to hear you are doing great on the learning curve!!!
  15. Your stomach is still healing!!! BE careful. It seems like both of your challenges are with eating out!! STAY out of restaurants until you have learned some strategies to make better food choices. Also, I would seek a support group to learn strategies to deal with overeating. I did and it was very helpful. Start fresh tomorrow and do only kind and loving things for your body!!!

    Gum

I have never chewed gum so much since I was sleeved. It helps with that "head hunger" and "cravings." I also found it most helpful after eating. I have no problem no drinking during meals, but man I could use a drink after!!! Chewing gum after meals helps with the dryness I feel after eating and makes the time pass quicker. I have NEVER had a gas issue with chewing gum but everyone is different.

    Stretched Uvula

I thought a 'uvulva" was a private part at first!!!! LOL Seriously, I had lots of throat issues after surgery that resolved themselves. I think an ENT visit would be in order. Good Luck and Congrats on your success :D

    Dizzy ALOT lately

That happens to me if I am not getting enough fluids in. You have to be extra careful, especially in the hot weather. I was out in the heat today and made sure I had some Water and Gatorade (G2 is the diet version). My doctor says he always has one or two 'newbie' wind up in the hospital each year once the weather chances, I'm making sure that's not me.
  19. I do exactly what Tiffykins does. I can drink right up until I eat. I do not take any sips or anything during a meal. I try to wait as long as possible after eating. As soon and I am finished eating, I do pop in a piece of gum. That helps A LOT! With the amazing results of this surgery...this minor inconvenience is sure worth it!!!
  20. I'm from Southern Jersey. Dr. Neff from Kennedy Hospital in Stratford is my surgeon. I can't say enough about him and his team. They are the BEST!

    Surgery Cancelled

I'm really glad it worked out for you especially after the disappointment of having the surgery cancelled. Hope you get your new date soon!
  22. I did the pre-op diet with the band and wasn't required with the sleeve. I don't think it made any difference at all. I lost a great deal of weight in the first weeks after the sleeve surgery. I think each doctor has their reasoning, just follow your doctor. I wouldn't do liquids...you will be on them long enough. Just don't fall into the 'last supper' syndrome.
  23. If it makes you feel better..my hunger went away around 4 months post op. I do sometimes get and empty feeling but not true hunger pains like before.... It gets better every day...I'm telling you!!

    Contraception After Surgery

I have the Mirena IUD..Had it two years before surgery. The hormores relased are localized in the reproductive tract....not like taking oral contraceptives. I had no problems, weight gain or other issues. Love it. My periods are just spotting at this point. The only down side is that it must be inserted while you have your period....very gross.
