OK, Who has an AUGUST surgery date??!!
stajin22 replied to Jodi73's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is August 13th, I also work in a modified school calendar year and we are already backto school. I am excited also but afraid in the same breath. I have been thinking about how many days I will have to be off work. I was shooting for July but ended up with Aug. I am just so happy to be getting this done. -
I will just stay positive. I go for my post op appointment on the 10th. Shoot me an email I will send information to you.

Great News!!!!!! I am approved, Aug 13th is the day for me and my first part is over. Now I am going to work on being healthy forever.

I have not heard anything else so no news is good news.

I have finally completed all of my test and would like to know what do I have to do next. My stress test lasted from 9:00am till 2:45pm. It was a long day and I am so glad that part is over. I guess it is a wait and see process. The excitement is still there and I am waiting for the call.

My weight history was completed when I first submitted my paper work to the office. I am so excited to know that it is almost over. This thursday I will be finished with my cardiologist. I know it will probably be a week before I here anything fromt he doctors office. I was hoping for mid August maybe there is a way. Keep me in your prayers.

Flipp, I finally got, yesterday was a eventful day and I had four appointments that I finally finished. In the am I had a barium test next I had a chest xray, went down to have labs and finally ekg. This process is full of appointments and some times disappointments but I have one last appointment and then the rest of the waiting begins. Next week I will have one appointment and that is with the cardiologists to be released for surgery. The excitement is building as these appointments are being completed. Hopefully I can be banded next month. I am not clear as how i will be able to come up with the money but it will be well worth it.

Thank you for the information, in speaking with a bcbs rep this morning I did find out that before the surgery I would have to pay this $600.00. After this is paid the claim for my surgery will be paid. Until the deductible is paid no surgery. It does not matter nothing is going to stop my progress. I am still moving forward with the surgery. Thank all of you for answering seemed like to me a crazy question.

It is my deductible for the year for my insurance. I know that I have a co-pay of 250 for the hospital. Our deductible just started for the year. This is just confusing to me. Every year you have a deductible for the year I got that much but if she is saying that I have to meet that first that does not make sense because I have till july of 2010 to meet that.

I spoke with the insurance company before I started this process and Dr. Moran is in network. So if I have this right I can be billed for the deductible. So should I continue to go ahead with this. I am getting really frustrated.
-
I completely understand i have just paid $350.00 today. I have had my nutrionist eval, physch eval. On Friday I go for a Barium swallow and need to do blood work and cardiologist appointment of the 23rd. Now that I look at all of this I am hopeful that this does not have to be paid in advance. If anyone knows if this $600.00 deductible has to be paid before the surgery can be done. The next question is who is it suppose to be paid to. Today went well I went for my initial consult today and I end up getting my physch eval done due to a no show. I am now worried because of the deductible. I see where ther is also a 200 out of pocket facility co-pay. I am just confused right now.
-
Who was your doctor, I am consulting with Dr. Moran on today and had my appointment with nutr. on Monday. My physch eval is on tomorrow morning. The last appointment I have is on July 23rd with the cardiologist. I am so close but seem so far away. I am hoping to go to Rex. I do know that some of the doctors use the hospital in Louisburg also.
-
I am not sure if the deductible has to be paid before you can have the surgery but I can find out and let you know. I am closer than I have been in my entire life.More excited than anything.

I finally heard from the doctors office and I will have my consult on June 15 and have to pay a $250 program fee, with both of my insurances I am not sure how much my deductible will be. Hopefully I will be able to go ahead and get my nut eval and physch eval before long. I will probably have to be cleared by my cardiologist also so I will have to do that.At least I know that they are working now on this stuff.
-
The physc evaluation was not done through your program. As far as I know I will have to pay for the nut and maybe 55.00 for the physc eval. I just want to know what I need to do so i can get the ball rolling.

Well, I thought that I would be using Dr. Moran in Raleigh but I can't seem to get a call about how much my insurance will even pay. I realize that the holiday may have played a major role in this process and that I am so excited. If I don't receive a call before long I might consider going to another doctor. My emotions on this are rather scrambled right now and don't know which way to go. Maybe I am have not allowed enough time to pass before I should even be considering a change in surgeons. I just want this process to go as smooth as possible. I have already spoke with my insurance company and know that it is covered on both plans.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That is awesome, I am waiting to here from the docotrs office about the preliminary. I guess they are trying to see what insurance will pay. Not sure what they do, they have my insurance information which I gave them when I went to the seminar. Is this when they are asking for an approval. I am not sure but I am tired of waiting(LOL) it has only been a week and couple of days. I am just curious and ready for the ball to get rolling.
-
When you went for the seminar and the office sent in the paperwork, how long did it take for them to contact you. I went to the seminar and the paperwork was sent in the same day. I guess I am on pins and needles because I want this so bad. I was trying to get all of these appointments out of the way since we are out of school right now. Looking at about three more weeks before I return to work. I guess i am just rushing the process. I have been so pumped up about this since I attended the seminar. really just want to be healthier and not so heavy. I work in a modified year round school. Next month we go back around the 16, actually it is less than three weeks the more I think about it.

I am not sure how the medicaid process works. This is the start of my process and it seems that this is all I am thinking about since last week when it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had to get this weight off of me. Sometime ago I was diagnosed with mitrial & tricuspid regergitation. My goal is to rlease some of the pressure off of my heart. I would like to see some grandchildren and just to be overall healthier. If I see any information I will post it here for you.

I went to the seminar on last Thursday, the paper work has been submitted and I guess it is a wait and see process now. I really want to go ahead and start my pysch eval and other things but don't know what to do. Maybe sometime this week I will be hearing from the doctors office.

I am new here and trying to start the process. How did you find out about the seminar.
