  1. Hello Everyone, Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself. I'm V:redface:, 25 living in Long Beach, CA. I was recently banded (super recent..within the week). Sx date was 08/28/09 by Dr. Tashjian out of Beverly Hills. My start weight was 265 but during the pre-op diet I managed ti lose 12 lbs. I was at 253 when I went in for my Sx. Now...6 days later consuming nothing but Clear liquids, my weight is down to 240. I begin the mushy food goodness on Friday:thumbup: I go in tomorrow for my post op check up and will be scheduling my first fill in a month from now. I have already taken pictures from my original 265 and will be recording my weight loss and measurements in a blog (coming soon to a website near you :blushing:) Anyways....HEY EVERYONE

    3 1/2 weeks post op

Indeed...perhaps you should read more carefully what I had written...I wrote waffles and sandwiches (anything bready)..were not good to eat. It was cooked squash that got caught in my throat b/c i ate it too quickly. I do see where you could have been confused with my post, in rereading it I see that I wrote "what I eat has changed" and in the beginning it looks implied that I've eaten the bready items...I don't dare eat anything heavy. It seemed implied that I had eaten such mentioned food, however I did not...I'll be sure to be more careful in the future as to not upset the delicate balance of threads LOL I do have a nutritionist...haven't had a waffle for...well...years...pre op I was a health food nut so the transition hasn't been TOO complicated. It was just something that popped in mind b/c an ihop commercial was on LOL cheers
  3. ROFFL! I soooooooooo had that experience..it was to the point that I was CRYING from the pain but something struck me as funny and couldn't quit laughing...the more I laughed the more pain I was in and couldn't stop...viscious cycle...I'm glad there is no more pain and laughing is back to being tear-less I know this really didn't answer your inquiry...just had to share

    3 1/2 weeks post op

In the same boat luv...I had lost 20 lbs...but have gained back about 7....I can eat regular portions however the speed that I eat and WHAT I'm eating has changed...for instance...bready items...waffles and sandwiches...limited...first experience was when I was eating andd it felt as if it got caught in my throat..kind of like when you swallow something wrong...I thought i was going to choke...that happened twice...I put two and two together...slapped myself and thought EAT SLOWER...since I've been fine. I can eat like normal other than the speed of eating.I dont really get hungry though....and I seem to stay full longer and if I attempt to eat when I'm not hungry....I'll get that feeling of food being caught in my throat. I can't wait to be able to take smaller amounts and start putting off some of this weight..not to mention exercise...they told me no weights or pilates until a month...I have 2 more weeks...my first adjustment is in 3 weeks. *sigh*
  5. Hello All... I was just wondering....post op...and after the liquid diet... when you are able to begin eating regular food...how much should you be able to consume? Thank you for your help:wub:
  6. HAHHAHHAAHAHAHHHHAHAHA "most of us mere mortals don't get" hahaahahahaahhaah you're awesome LOL I thnk I hurt myself laughing:thumbup:
  7. I guarantee that the crass and tactless commentary were left by people that NEVER had to struggle with weight. Pre op...I worked out on a regular basis, cardio, weights and pilates. I ate extremely healthy and didn't feel bad about my weight. I wasn't lazy...very active..HOWEVER..my health was at risk..I worked HARD to try to lose weight and I was unsuccessful. I've told many about being banded and most are excited for me. I know that there are many ignorant people that assume b/c someone is overweight that means they are lazy or eat excessive amounts. Let them live in their own little world of ignorance, while we choose to do something to improve our lives.
  8. Hello All... I was just wondering....post op...and after the liquid diet... when you are able to begin eating regular food...how much were you able to consume? The first day...I was full off of less than a yogurt..but now...a week later it seems that I can eat a decent amount...not as much as I could pre op but I have no issues taking food down and for instance...I just had a bowl of broccoli and I feel fine..I made sure not to eat until I was full...but IDK.. Anywho..let me know:wub:
  9. Thanks you guys :smile2: and good luck junbug!
