Try the spray on tanners, my aunt is currently trying them out and she loves them, they look very natural. As for me, I'm pale and proud.

Lost a significant amount of weight? Do people treat you differently now?
Mrs. Plumpy replied to stars94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been pondering this very thing lately. All my life I have been on the outside, people treat me like I'm invisible and I have overheard alot of things in all these years, not about me but people talking behind other people's backs. I see how they treat each other and how they pretend to like each other, all the while talking bad about their "friends" to others. It has truly been an eye-opener about how terrible people really are when they don't think you're listening. It makes me very sad for humanity. I'm guessing once I get thin then they will see me as one of them, well I want nothing to do with any of them! They ignored me when I was fluffy so I will ignore them when I'm thin. Things will not change, I will stick with the people that have been there for me all my life. If I ever do want to make new friends it will be online, where we can get to know each other's personalities first. Sorry if this post seems gloomy, sometimes when I'm feeling down I think about stuff like this. It really saddens me that people can be so superficial and heartless. -
how hungry are you supposed to get?
Mrs. Plumpy replied to oz girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had one fill and it takes me forever to feel hungry again after I eat. I only eat about a cup of food but can eat more if I tried, yesterday I was able to eat two rolls of sushi (it was so good, it's been so long since I had sushi). I've been losing steadily as well. Just tell your doctor you keep getting hungry too soon and see what he says about it. -
Omg feeling so guilty right now
Mrs. Plumpy replied to criveraarroyo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't beat yourself up over it, no one is perfect. :smile2: -
Divorce/Split Rates post lap band
Mrs. Plumpy replied to Me3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me3, you can make it through this, you sound like such a strong woman. Even if you can't make it, don't look down on yourself, everyone has their breaking points. *Hugs* -
You know what I'm NOT going to miss?!
Mrs. Plumpy replied to iJenny's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was always freezing for awhile after my surgery (I had lost 18 pounds on the preop diet) and I couldn't believe it. I had to almost close the air vent near me to tolerate the air being on. It's gotten ok recently but after I lose more weight it looks like I'll have to bundle up like a bear from the sounds of it. :smilielol5: I wanted to ask, did anyone here have some minor back pain that disappeared when they lost weight? I have some and I hope that it goes away along with the always being warm. -
You could keep them and use them as pajamas? Then get rid of them when they are too big to even be pajamas (I like my PJs to be bigger than my town clothes).

Around the house unless it starts hurting I dont use any gas x chewables (the cats just look at me strange if I make a noise and hubby is used to it) but if you're going out you should definately take some gas x chewables with you. I use the store brand of Gas x chewables and they work great and are cheaper.

From my experience it doesn't matter what I eat, I'm always burping or tooting. I hope it's just our body adjusting to the band. If it doesn't go away at least we can entertain ourselves by going to the mall and silently crop-dusting unsuspecting people.

If they have a garbage can in the bathroom, wrap your item up good in toilet paper and throw it in the trash can. If they don't have a trash can or you feel strange throwing it in there (maybe it's empty or something) then still wrap it up good in toilet paper and discreetly go to their main trash can and throw it down in there, make sure it falls down in there and doesn't lay on top of other trash. Tada! Strangely, I've never had this happen to me, I've been on Depo shot for almost ten years though so I don't have a monthly visitor anymore. :scared2:

Can't seem to find a good protein drink
Mrs. Plumpy replied to Thunder629's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Body Fortress from Walmart is what I've been using, mix it with milk and it tastes pretty good and it's also the cheapest kind I've found. You can even find a coupon on their website for it. -
Low Carb or Low Fat...which is better?
Mrs. Plumpy replied to amey_idaho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
As was said, neither really, but since you asked, I have tried both many times pre-band. Low fat was way easier to stick with and the weight didn't come back as fast. With low carb the weight came off faster but it was harder to stick to and once you stopped, the weight came back really fast. Just do a nice healthy balance, make sure to get in your Protein, and you'll do fine. -
How much weight can you lose with the Lap band in 7 months?
Mrs. Plumpy replied to Rose7's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for this thread, I was also wondering the same thing. If I do as good as others here, I'll be able to wear a cute outfit at Christmas time and not be afraid to get in front of the camera to open presents. I can't wait! Grats all on your awesome weight loss. -
I'm the same way, all it takes is something even slightly sad and I'm crying. You should have seen me last week at the end of the 24 finale, balling like a baby! I'm sure normally my eyes would have started watering alittle because I love that show but this was just crazy. I wonder how long this cold, sleepy, emotional stage lasts...?

Maybe you could get them to customize a salad for you with the same stuff and charge you less because you're not getting the bread? Not sure though, never tried to get a salad at Subway before. :Dancing_biggrin: About the taste of food, that is so weird, I thought maybe I just was starting to get a cold because food wasn't tasting as good as it used to before the band. Nothing tastes yucky but it just doesn't taste as good as I remember it being before my pre-op diet. In a way it's sad but really it's a blessing in disguise I guess. I see so many posts about people being hungry all the time but for me I eat a little and I feel so full all the time. And that will lead me to being sleepy and wanting to nap like a bear.

Best Friend is so unsupportive!!!
Mrs. Plumpy replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sit her down and talk this out, tell her you're not going to listen to her negativity any more. Tell her she needs to make a choice, either she's going to be positive and supportive or you're not going to be her friend any more. Just lay it all out on the table and get it over with, it will be easier that way. -
what are you most looking forward to after your banded?
Mrs. Plumpy replied to BeautyandtheBand's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to get my energy back, I used to be able to go out shopping all day long and now I can only last a few hours. I want to go to a Water park again and not be paranoid about people saying stuff about me. I know it doesn't matter what other people think but if I hear what someone says then I will have to say something back and it would probably escalate. I see that some want to shop in "regular" stores that don't usually have plus sizes. I personally still will not shop in those stores even when I can wear their clothes. If they don't want my business now, why should I give them my money later? It seems like I'd be saying it was ok to discriminate against fluffy people. I will always be a fluffy girl underneath and if a shop doesn't cater to plus sizes then I will shop elsewhere. -
My surgery is Monday May 17th @ 8:30am (I might back out)
Mrs. Plumpy replied to ChocolateDream81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! The pain will fade away in a few days. *Hugs* :tongue2: -
This was also a concern of mine, luckily my dietician (who was banded) said that she has had no trouble with sushi. When I can have sushi again I'm going to start out with some Philly roll and if that goes good I'll then try the tempura shrimp roll. Oh man, I can't wait.

Washroom problems
Mrs. Plumpy replied to smilinginside's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used Dr. Trace Curry in Cincinnati Ohio ( Lap Band Surgery Ohio :: Lap Band Doctor Trace Curry Ohio ). I just looked at your Bandster profile, we didn't have the same doctor. They give some of the same advice though. Also, the milk of magnesia might take until the morning to work since it's so gentle on your tummy. -
Washroom problems
Mrs. Plumpy replied to smilinginside's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here, I tried half a dose first and that helped. Haven't had to take anymore after that, smooth sailing. -

Mrs. Plumpy replied to ChocolateDream81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here, I've tried my medicine and chewable Gas X pills and it still won't go away. Let us know how you're doing chocolate. -

Nah, I work at home but I've read that people go back to work very soon. Just see how you feel and go from there. -
