Regretting it already..(day 1)
Mountaingal replied to ZombieQueen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hoping by now you are starting to feel better and are moving towards the light at the end of the tunnel. -
Congratulations. You look great. Hoping to be there with you by the new year.
-
I doubt you can drink too much water. Just don't glug it down.

Mountaingal replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Great post. Thanks for sharing. You sound like the "miracle" we all hope for. You must be overjoyed. Now go out and live the life you didn't have before! -

What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?
Mountaingal replied to sarahbethemails's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Going to my son's house so it will be a traditional meal. I plan on turkey, gravy. a tbs or so of turnip and carrots, a bite of mashed potatoes and a tsp of cranberry sauce. Should be interesting as they don't know I had surgery.Took them 8 mths and almost 50 lbs to realize I was losing weight. LOL! No plans for desert even though I will take a pie. As others have said the food is not the important things this year. Being happier and healthier and comfy on the chairs will be enough to be thankful for. -
Mmm going to try this one. Thank you for posting. I am also going to try sprouting chick peas which I have never done despite sprouting lots of other things.

Self Care Isn't Selfish...3 Tips to Make it Possible
Mountaingal replied to Amanda Dutton LPC's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Wonderful article. A reminder of things I try very hard to do. Losing weight was my self care after for years of intense caring for a post stroke husband. Even he is thrilled with my doing this for me. I also take 1/2 minimum before he gets up every morning for me and bath time is all but sacred. -
Thank you to all veterans who read this post.

I have been rejected
Mountaingal replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
You said today was feel sorry for Jane day. I Hope tomorrow you will wake up feeling more acceptant and will find some great body shapers on line. That said perhaps as times passes your health will improve and at some point in the future you may be able to have this surgery. At least after weight loss surgery , despite all your problems you have a better chance of improving your health and living long enough to get the plastics down the road. My heart goes out to you. -
Congratulations. What an accomplishment.

What is weigh-loss goal reality, sleeve & bypass?
Mountaingal replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I didn't have a sleeve or bypass I had plication. I have been steadily losing at least 1 lb a week and sometimes 2lbs if I have been more active than usual ( more normal active is 5 miles walking each day). -
SIPS/SADI-S/Loop DS in Ohio
Mountaingal replied to jhope88's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just guesses, call the state medical society, look for a bariatric society, ask at your local hospital, search the internet. Sorry I can't help more. -
Sounds good to me. Remember this is not a race. This is a tool for the rest of your life. Some lose faster , some lose slower but it will happen if you stick with the program.

Starting out at age 45? How common?
Mountaingal replied to KS123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Had my surgery in July at age 64. Feel so much better. I have less aches and pains, more energy and enthusiasm for life. As long as you are able to get through surgery go for it, never too late. -
Hello Everyone Newbie Onboard!
Mountaingal replied to DivaSoBlessed's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Welcome. There is so much help here you couldn't be in a better place to find people who can help you stop existing and start living again except for the team that will get you through surgery. Your surgeon will help you decide which surgery is best for you with your health issues etc. Just learn what you can about the surgeries available so you will understand what he or she is talking about and can ask questions. Good luck to you. -
7lbs gained. How much of that might just be water due to weather or sodium intake or time of the month. Too soon to give up. Lots of other people here have hit stalls and been so upset. Plenty to read here that will help you through this. Revision is no guarantee of dumping syndrome, some people don't get that. As said before you can't compare your loss to another person's we are all different. My friend and I had it done the same day and both our losses are different but we eat together a lot and the rest of the time eat pretty much the same. Hang in there you can get back on track and keep losing.

How Did You Find Your Surgeon? (Or Where Are You Looking?)
Mountaingal replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I found mine right here on Bariatric Pal ! Listened to what was said about him, researched him on line, talked to him on the phone and could not have been happier. I trusted that you guys had done your homework on the surgeons you recommend and you arranged everything for me. Before coming here I was going all over the place and getting more and more confused about finding a surgeon in Mexico. -
Weight loss Surgery W/ RA
Mountaingal replied to ktscott's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
With an autoimmune problem I would not put a foreign body into my body. Who knows when the immune system will decide to revolt against it. Be sure your Dr is familiar with autoimmune issues as many of them are not. -
Did I have surgery and become a negative person or is it just hormones?
Mountaingal replied to jenlovestim's topic in The Gals' Room
As others have said, all very normal and if you need medical help to get through this then do it! Just wanted to add another voice of support for you. -
I finally got scheduled!
Mountaingal replied to dandylion_23's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Good luck to all you ladies who are waiting for surgery. You will be heading into the New Year as "new women". -
Happy Birthday. You look incredible!

Great Appetizer to Bring to a Holiday Party!
Mountaingal replied to fairee's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Only thing I wonder is how do you stop them falling/rolling off as you transport it? Looks wonderful. -
I find sweet things taste even sweeter. I now only can bear 1/2 of one of those water flavoring packets in a bottle of water, just seems so sweet and strong. Never really liked sweet things, candy etc so I am very lucky in that regard.

I know gummies are nutritionally deficient in lats of areas but I find once in a while they are a great alternative to eating something else that is sweet. Usually less calories and better nutrition than other things I might crave like a real candy or a sweet cookie.. I just suck on one for a while.
