    pulling sensation after eating anyone?

Hi Christine, Thank you so much for taking the time to write back. I saw my Dr and he said that the pulling sensation was due to the stomach moving around and digesting the food. I will look into the protein shakes you suggested and try to stick with foods that are easier for my stomach to digest. I have been much better today on soup and yogurts, better than the prawns I ate yesterday! Thanks again for your advice

    Pulling feeling? What is it?

hi, I posted the same thing only yesterday! I am one week since I was banded too and I have the pulling feeling near my port on the left side. It happens after I eat and the Dr says it might be because the muscles are moving to digest the food, so it pulls. It does hurt though rather like a cramp...I am happy that I'm not alone but hope it stops soon.

    pulling sensation after eating anyone?

Hi, My Doc has said I can have anything except bread, alcohol and fizzy drinks. I can't drink with a meal either. He dosen't want me to have a liquid diet as he says these tend to contain more calories. I am eating sensibly and chewing well, mainly soup, salads, fish and yogurts really. He says my stomach is not that different to before size wise though it is a bit swollen. i am only eating small portions as I don't want to have too big a shock when I have my fill!

    Port/Gym/Etc

I am one week post op and I am experiencing some pain around my port too and it pulls in like mad after I have eaten-it's a strange sensation. I too have a personal trainer, who I want to start back with after my summer hols, I'm a teacher. He works me hard, like boot camp so I'm hoping I will be up to it again. I don't want to tell him I've had a band, but then don't want to twist anything! I'm finding all the posts helpful...I hope your pain goes away soon.

    Any July Bandsters out there?

Hi my band op was on the 9th July. Here we go...!
  8. I'm 7 days post op and I find it hard as I am used to drinking a lot and often. I'm having to alternate drink-wait-meal and in the morning coffee always wins out but then I'm aware that I'm not getting my stomach up and running and burning off calories straight away.
  9. hi! Just had my band fitted a week ago and was wondering if anyone else gets a funny pulling sensation from the area around their port after they've eaten? It feels as if my belly is being pulled inwards by an invisible wire...very strange!!

    Newbie banded on July 7th

Hi Tracy, Good luck with your band. I had mine on the 9th July and I am feeling much better now on day 5. I paid for mine myself and had it done in Hong Kong, were I live. My surgeon told me I could eat whatever I wanted except bread, alchohol, fizzy drinks and pizza. He just recommended that I eat smaller meals and chew well. I cannot drink when I eat for a few hours as well. I am trying to eat sensibly soup, mashed bananas and custard and scrambled eggs.I am seeing the surgeon on Thursday and can't wait as I feel a bit lost at the moment! I am so happy I have this website and other people to talk to-thanks!
  12. I was banded 5 days ago, I felt the same at first but don't worry you feel so much better each day and I feel great today! Even my aching left shoulder is not as bad as this actually felt worse than my stomach because of the refereed pain from the diaphragm.I hope you feel better soon...

    Caffeine?

Hi, I was banded last Thursday and my surgeon has said it's ok to have coffee, I have been having one each day as I too can't survive without my caffeine fix. The only things he has told me to stay clear of are fizzy drinks, alcohol, bread and pastry. Hope this helps

    2 weeks till surgery

Hi Tali, I'm also due to have my lap band surgery soon on the 9th July in Hong Kong. I'm very excited and a bit apprehensive too! What is the date of surgery? Are you on a pre op diet? I haven't been told to diet or anything and am a bit worried as people are mentioning it on the forum. S
