My name is Holly and I have been battling with my weight my entire life. I was a chubby kiddo and just seemed that in the past 10 years I have gotten far bigger. I am 36, soon to be 37, have type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, bad joints, and PCOS. I hope to be a Momma but want to be healthy (and ovulating would be helpful) and a good role model for my child/ren. Not to mention I am going to school working on a dual degree in special and elementary education and would like to not only be better able to get a job (cause let's face it size descrimination is an issue we all face daily) and a good role model for my students. I love food and it tends to be a comfort tool for me and usually central to all our family gatherings. I eat when happy (celebratory ice cream), sad (comforting mashed taters), bored ( chips and dip) and so on. I had lost 90 pounds on atkins (so hard to stick too and bad for my cholesterol) gotten pregnant and miscarried at four months. Then up to 315 lbs. I have changed the way I cook and started phentermine and am down to 275 where I seem to be stuck. I have a wonderful supportive partner who will be with me on this journey of not just weight lose but life. Now I just hope my provider approves the surgery.
