  1. Thank you! I have been eating healthy and watching portion control for several years, so that part wont be a shock. But I know it will not by any means be easy or a quick fix! I think thats why it all has been beyond frustrating bc i make all the right food choices, bust my butt in the gym, count calories..and the scale hasnt budged in 2 years! (only up! ;( So this will def be a great TOOL for me! Thank you!
  2. * Are you done??!! I have gained and lost weight all of my life, NOT TWICE. you are not in my shoes and DO NOT know the things I have gone through to lose the weight. I am by no means looking for YOUR approval.. It is YOUR opinion that I only need to lost 30 pounds! You are forgetting that each person is a different build... petite, medium and large frame. A 5'1 medium/large frame female may be "normal/thin" at 130-135, however NOT a petite 5-5'1 female. So your argument should be with my PCP and cardiologist who indicate i should be at 115-118. I know you SO BADLY want to be right in this situation, but you are NOT. "especially with NO co-moribunds and no history of weight loss problems is just not something I can support." ...oh..i am sorry!? Are you my doctor? ..that you know my entire history? I guess you missed the posts where I said I am on High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol meds, as well as Chronics Asthma and a heartattack at 26? Thats right, you are just choosing what you want to read to make yourself fell better. Can you please go annoy someone else!!!!!!!
  3. MY bad! sorry about that! NO! and I wasnt talking about you when I said people can be mean!
  4. PS...wasnt talking about you NurseMelly... however telling me to get my head check, wasnt very nice
  5. * everyone is entitled to there opinion, even if I dont agree with it! Its just sad to see how some members on here are just down right mean!
  6. That was very sweet!

    thank you!!!!

  7. I appreciate that! Thank you! i will def be in touch
  8. * also think it was quit silly to have your "husband" (if it was really him, probably wasn't) ask about fills and how much work you will have to miss. If you know much about the surgery, then you should have informed you husband about that.. My "husband" really was my husband. I was away this past weekend visiting my father & erick was doing some searching online and found this site. He called and told me about it and that he signed me up so that we can ask questions to those who have been through it. i DID do my research, however he wanted to ask those that actually had the surgery to see if it may be different from what we have read or heard.. He cannot believe how judgemental and straight up vicious some people on here can be. Everyone has THEIR own reason for doing the surgery.. i shouldnt be at fault if ALL my reasons dont match someone elses. I would only wish EVERYONE who has done or is planning on getting the surgery only the best! Its so unfortunate we all cant be like that.
  9. * Yet again, the original poster is NOT 50 pounds overweight. ..UMMMM, AND HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT? DO YOU KNOW ME?? NO!!!!!! She's barely 30.... YEAH!! I ONLY WISH!! YOU SHOULD SEE HOW MUCH FAT I STILL HAVE ON ME W/O 30 POUNDS!!! FUNNY HOW YOU THINK YOU KNOW PEOPLE...YOU HAVE NOOOO CLUE HUGE difference. AND she has apparently NEVER had weight issues, other than right now. SERIOUSLY??? I HAVE HAD WEIGHT ISSUES SINCE I WAS A CHILD!!! ALLLLL MY LIFE!! I WAS UP TO 190! SO HAVE MY SISTER AND MY FATHER.... BUT THAT'S RIGHT..YOU THINK YOU KNOW IT ALL!! This is not directed simply at low BMI people. But this poster has not "struggled" with weight loss, she simply wants a quick fix so she can be a size 4 again. AGAIN, SERIOUSLY?!! YOU DONT KNOW ME!! I HAVE STRUGGLED! MORE THAN YOU KNOW! DO I WANT TO BE A HEALTHY 4 AGAIN? OF COURSE! IS THAT THE ONLY REASON? NO!! I just dont want to wait until I am 100 pounds overweight! and everyone on here would be lying if they said they didnt want the vanity in addition to the health.... soooo for your information... 1) I have had and chronic asthma all my life 2) I had a HEAR TATTACK at age 26 and have been on meds every since! so you have some balls trying to tell me that I don't care about my health!! 3) My cardiologist stressed to me that i should be at my LOWEST WEIGHT POSSIBLE (115) before I start a family! So you think i havent TRIED ALL I CAN to lost the 50 lbs? since YOU think it's so darn easy? I cannot have a baby bc i cannot get this weight off. SO FOR YOUR EFFIN INFORMATION, HEALTH IS MY #1 PRIORITY! And you will be the one for a rude awakening when Kharma comes back to bite you
  10. BINGO!!!! Thank you! YES! There ARE doctors that WILL perform my surgery in the US, however they are 17-30K... and after MUCH research, I have chosen Mexico, not only for the much lower cost, but b/c the doctor I am seeing is very experienced and has done over 7 thousand procedures and has trained many US Surgeons... and there are doctors in the US RIGHT NEAR ME that will take patients that have had the procedure done outside the US.
  11. thank you!! Good luck to you as well!!
  12. THANKS HUN!!!! It's good to hear that SOME people understand you!!

Good Luck!!! My Apt in July 8th! Excited and nervous...but the excitment def out weighs it!!!
  14. LOL! Great! CONGRATS!! Every woman should feel that beautiful! You go girl!!!
  15. * IT DID!!! Thank you SO much for your knowledgy and support! and No, I am not using this as a speedly weight loss. Gradual weight loss is def better! I would be totally happy with 1-2 pounds a week!!! I guess it sounded that way in my original post bc IF I ever did lose, it was .2 or .4 at best!! it took me over 2 years to lost 40lbs.. and i do understand that there will be a plateau, esp since I lift weights with my workout. Thanks Again!
  16. * Thank you!!! Portion control is something I learned throught WW and have been utilizing for years, I guess that is why that past few years have been a major struggle bc the case was only moving UP! Please keep in touch! I def plan on been on here alot for support, guidance and information... Thanks again!!!!! Agnes
  17. THANK YOU!!! we are not ALL in the same boat and do not know each others struggles, but it sounds that some of us do!! Thank you and GOOD LUCK!!!! xoxo Agnes
  18. * I respect that everyone (including yourself) have an opinion... however i AM 51 pounds over weight and almost a 32 BMI. which is obese. With my height and weight, my goal weight has always bee 115 pounds. Believe me, I would love to onlyy be 30 pounds overweight. I came on here for support, not for someone to tell me that I need my head checked. i have struggled with weight my entire life. At one point I weight almost 200 pounds, and yes lost weight myself. However after regaining 30lbs or so pounds, (i was never at my goal) I have not been able to lose any weight. I have been on Weight Watchers with success & knew I could do it myself. However, after being on medication for the past 2 years, it has made it an extreme struggle. I have gone back to WW, read the Clean Eating book and ate clean, busted my butt in the gym, gone to my PCP (who used to be a dietician) and broke down in her office b/c know matter how hard I tried, my weight would not budge! Ib fact it consistently krept up..even to the point where I had a thyroid test done to make sure that wasnt the cause. So until you know me, please don't assume that I am doing this as a quick fix bc I have not tried diet and excercise... I HAVE. I do not expect this loss to be rapid. I would love a 1-2 pound a week loss! I feel for those of you who are 100+ lbs overweight and also commend you on making the right step... however I doubt any of you would appreciate someone teling you that you are too lazy to diet and excercise and that must be why youare getting the surgery. All the emotional times...self esteem issues etc..that come with being overweight I feel. A person does not have to be morbidly obese to feel like they have no other option. I thank those of you who are supportive a great deal! and I respect those that disagree, however unless you know me, what I HAVE tried for 2 years straight with no success and the MUCH research I have done to see if this is right for me...then DONT JUDGE. I have spoken to my doctors, other surgeons and my family..who are all supportive in my decision to lose 50lbs..not 30 that I need to lose. Good luck to all of you and I hope to be back for support after July 8th. Agnes
  19. * yes. actually, i researched that a lot as well and found many forums strictly devoted to those who are in the low 30's BMI...and have had the surgery. I am petite, short and considered obese and struggle with weight loss and self esteem probably just as much as someone 100+ lbs or more. Too me, this is a tool I can use FOR LIFE, not a quick fix. I have lost 40 lbs before, however since then have been on meds that make it EXTREMELY difficult to lose weight. i know many people that know me will probably be shocked to hear what i am doing, however unless they have been through it, they dont understand the emotional issues i have gone through. I put on a great act in front of them. I dont think you have to be morbidly obese to feel like you have exhausted your options. but yes, in the beginning, I wanted to make sure that being 55 lbs overweight was enough to go through with this. To me, it'll be a struggle, but all worth it! And I have had several surgeons as well as my primary doctor indicate that it is safe and a good decision. Thanks for the concern though! Good luck to you!!!
  20. * LOL..I guess its good knowing that I am not alone! Are you going to Dr. Ortiz? Good luck and def keep in touch on here! We can all support each other! xoxo Agnes
  21. July 8th here! ..heading to Mexico with Dr. Ortiz!! (self pay) I am not fat enough (the irony) for my insurance to cover me... I am at 31.4 BMI (I am only 5'1 and was horrified to see that I am technically 'obese')..esp when i was a SIZE 4 on my wedding day... I am VERY excited, but still have SOOO many questions running through my head...esp after reading different threads on this site and others... Some say they are so many weeks, even months post op and havent seen much success...that's tad scary to me! I have done EVERYTHING to lose the weight that i regained and nothing ...thats when i decided to research Lapband... I know it'll be HUGE adjustment..however the way I see it, if I am putting the $ into it...i better see some major results!! My husband has been SOOOO supportive. (he met me at 175lbs and I married him at 133lbs...regained back and now am at 166lbs and its killing me!) he doesnt care...he just wants me to be happy and I am far from happy. i cry alone, throw tantrums in my closet, dont feel like going out b/c "i have nothing to wear.."....well...you all know the feeling I am sure. So after TONS of research and deciding...i AM gonna do this! It was a weight lifted off my shoulders to see ow supportive Erick (hubby) was. "i just want you to be happy", he says... and i know that getting to your goal weight will do that.." but the LAST thing i want is for him to regret putting us further in debt b/c it didnt work.. PLEASE SOMEONE REASSURE ME THAT THIS IS GONNA WORK!! I know that you HAVE to follow the diet, and i am assuming that the people complaining are the ones eating icecream all day long and wondering why the scale isnt budging! LOL I am not doing this for nothing! I know there will be sacrafice and there are foods that i will just have to give up (or they are gonna come back up! lol) I have approx 50-55 pounds to lose? realistically, does anyone know fast or slow this process is? I mean, it HAS to be faster the dieting alone, right? and these refills.... why do i see people getting filled so often? Is it the more weight you drop, the more you have to fill? July 8th cant come fast enough!! I am ready fro my lief to change FOREVER!!! Sorry for the novel.... Agnes
