Hi Fatduck, ShellyG & Shoes, I am so upset.. trying to keep positive though, I know there are other surgeons out there and I'll just have to try loose some weight and maybe Dr Chris can accept me then. Its just with finding this website I felt so much confidence in going to get it with him and now I cant!! Anyway on a positive note I started my dieting again last Wednesday and just weighed myself and I have lost 4.5 pound in the week so happy bout that although the first week its easy to keep the will power. I'm just going to take it day by day and hopefully I will be joining all you banders on the loosing side very soon Laura xx

Hi Everyone, Frederick just wrote back to me and told me I was not suitable for the gastric band. They said I was too high risk as I was over the 50 BMI. My head is all over the place now.. I had really set myself up for getting the band and finally starting to loose weight and enjoy life and now I am even too fat to get the band!! I am so upset and angry with myself for letting it get this bad. He said If I wanted more info on the bypass I could but that isnt what i wanted, Number one I cannot afford the bypass they are supposed to be at least twice the price and also it is so invasive changin your anatomy forever and much more risky operation. I am just sitting now thinking what can I do now.... Laura xx

Hi Bobobaldy, Ah thanks for clearing that up for me was getting all confused with people mentioning Fredrick ha ha :confused: Oh silly me I wanted to email dr Chris direct ... do you have an email for him or Fredick by any chance? Id be very gratefull :biggrin: Congrats on your weightloss... I am the same weight as you when you started.. I am only 20 years old though :blushing: well nearly 21!! Hi ShellyG, The WLS sounds like the better option alright. Do they have a website or email you can give me please? Can someone tell me is Fredrick and Dr Chris is the same place? Do you choose which surgeon you want or do they decide?? sorry slightly confused!! I emailed the crowed europe surgery yesterday but have not got a reply.... have I emailed the correct place for Dr Chris? I can only imagine how hard it is when you can't eat what everyone else is...but at least it will be worth it Laura xx

Hi everyone, I have been researching the band for several months now.. I was looking at a private clinic in Dublin but the price of 11,000 has forced me to rethink my options. After searching the web I came accross websites with Dr Chris as surgeon and then found this site.. I am so grateful I did there is so much information on here its great. I have a few questions the first.. I have seen people say its cheaper to book direct with Dr Chis, can you let me know which website is for booking direct with him? Also I am in Ireland and was wondering if anyone from here has had the op and can you get fills back here rather than travelling to uk or belgium? If they do them in ireland can you tell me where and how much in euro the fills cost? Also just wondering from a work perspective how to handle the time I will need off, I'd like to know did people take the time as annual leave or sick leave?? I ask because I dont have much annual leave left in work for this year and the thought of waiting till next year kills me! Just wondering if I informed my doc I was going for an op could he give me sick cert for the time off... I'll prob have loads more questions shorty but thats it for now. Thanks Laura
