    it's hard!

I mixed my non flavored protein mix with orange juice. I use a lot of ice in my blender. All so I use egg beaters, they are mostly egg whites and the whites is the protein. My friend take 3 egg whites and one whole and scramble them together. I found that the colder the drink the easier the protein is to get down. My Dr. suggested eating baby food. Hope it get better. good luck Linda

Many interruption on my way to banding

I didn't have trouble getting my insurance to approve. But my family Dr. wasn't very supportive. He felt that I was able to loose 52 pounds 2 years ago and that I could do it again. The surgery wasn't available so I had to go out of town (140 Miles) I had been surfing the INTERNET and friends that have had the gastric bi-pass. They helped me find a good Dr. When the banding Dr. seen my TOPS journal and seen that In the year and half of weight loss I did a lot of yo yoing. so we proceeded with the process. My surgery was scheduled for April 27, 2009. I did my 2 weeks of liquid diet. At the clinic I weighed 278 and when I check into the hospital I weight 265. They prepped my and took my to surgery and put me on the table and started hooking me up to the machines. When they turned on the EKG they called the Dr. and he stopped the surgery. He told my hubby that it look like I might have had a small heart attach between February when I had the first EKG. So I had to go and do some heart studies. Then my sister passed away on the 9th of May. So I had to go to Iowa. I kept in contact with my coordinator and she hadn't got the results from my family Dr. They had mailed me a copy the week I took the test. I had faxed a copy to my coordinator but they need my family Dr. to do it. I didn't have any idea what the report said. When I went back to my sister furnel my niece who is a pa in cardiology told me that I was fine. any way I then was schedule for June 17, 2009. Everything went fine till the Dr. took over and found that I had Hiatal Hernia. He told my hubby that he never seen a whole that large. he repaired it and put my band in. The next day my sister-in-law called my cell phone told me that my brother had a massive coranary wed night and don't think he is going to make it. He didn't but he is at peace. He was 84 and my sister was 82. I have been home 4 days and I have not had to take any pain medication. I didn't bother to fill it. I am having fun trying set up my eating schedule. I have a formal dress to get finished by July 12. I spent Sat in my sewing room and forgot about eating. I was drinking a lot of water though. I went 6 hours without a slimfast. My next problem is I med to take and they don't have liquid. They taste really nasty. Any suggestion ??????? I go in and get my first fill on the 30th, I am anxous to see what I have lost.
