    September 2009 Band Date

    Tell us how your first fill went! I see they had to take some out? How is your hunger etc?:thumbup: My weightloss has stalled at 20 lbs for 2 wks now.

  3. I have to wait till Nov 9th for my first fill. My doctor wont do a fill until 6wks after surgery and I will be out of town until the 9th. soooooo, I am just trying to hold onto the weight I have lost until then. I think you are doing great! Sometimes it's difficult to see our own successes.. hang in there!

  4. Hey there! I am so glad to see how well you are doing! My own weightloss has slowed down now. I am not letting it get to me since I have not had any fills yet, and we are really not supposed to be worried about losses until our fills.

    Good to hear from you Amanda, I started back to work yesterday also. I am trying not to buy any clothes, just wearing my old ones even though they are very loose. Maybe I will buy a couple things for the upcoming Holidays. I am really wanting to wait till I am at least 3 sizes. I think by then I will have no choice, my old ones will be around my ankles

    B chocolate protein shake s L grilled salmon & veggies s D baked chicken (no skin) & one sm piece baked garlic bread s 100 cal. ice cream sandwich

  8. Whenever I feel like I am slipping, I read my co-bander's blogs and I realize we have all gone through that same thing at one time or another. Keeps me focused :thumbup:

    Thanks Janet, I will definately have to plan ahead for outings, I guess it's going to take me some time to get used to it. Today I am back to eating healthy and hoping my screw up will not affect my scale too badly...I don't want to have to eat differently than everyone else @ family function, I don't think that is realistic either :sad:

    To tell or not to tell

    Our weightloss with LapBand is not as quick as it is with those who have bypass, It is totally conceivable that diet and exercise would do it. Honestly we are doing 90% of the work, the only the band does for us is to keep us feeling full, everything else, we are doing for ourselves. I am with you, Only 2 people in my life know, my husband and my sister, I intend to keep it that way.

    I'm here to help...

    Today I am 3wks post op and Yesterday I had the most challenging day I have had since being banded. I attended a birthday party 90mins from home. It was held at one of those children party centers and I failed horribly. I started out doing ok, I had a healthy breakfast. I was told there was a little concession stand so I figured I could find something semi-healthy. WRONG! Only food there were hot dogs, nachos, white bread sandwiches loaded with mayo. I did buy some water and tried sipping it all day. We left home at 10am and now it's 2pm and I'm starving. Finally all my willpower died and ate 8 *1/4* finger sandwiches, which in itself wouldn't have been entirely bad, but of course I let myself have a piece of birthday cake, granted it was a smaller piece than I normally would have taken. I did no exercises yesterday either. I beat myself up about overeating the entire 90 min. drive home, skipped dinner, took a xanax and went to sleep. I was miserable. How the hell am I going to make it through an upcoming 3wk trip incl a cruise, if I cannot control myself at a one day outing? I am so angry at myself, I could just scream :sad::cursing::sad:

    Remember this is not a diet, its a lifestyle change and you need to try to make good choices, everything else will take care of itself, good luck! Gen, you are doing so fantastic! will you get another fill in about a month or so?:thumbup: welcome to Sexy Septembers! I think you are losing pretty much that same as me. What type of exercising are you doing? You are also doing quite well, 24 pounds! Have you been able to get rid of any clothing from your closet that doesn't fit yet?

    September 2009 Band Date

    OMG, my first fill will not be until nov.7th, its my own fault, because I will be out of town for 3 wks starting next friday. It's going to be a very challenging 3 wks, NO fill, having to eat my meals out instead of controlled at home and fighting my old lifestyle way of thinking (that you have to eat to have a good time on vacation). I have made a promise to myself to find some place to walk each morning and to stay on my low carbs during that time. It's going to be a struggle, put I refuse to give up any of my hard earned 20 lbs :thumbup:

    Jen, scroll back a few pages and cut and paste your name to our list if you wish, welcome to our group and congrats on joining the Sexy Septembers :thumbup: I am ready for my fill as well, I didn't realize riding was such a workout, I have never done it, but my granddaughters goto riding camp each summer and they love it. OMG, I would freak, I am not good with blood :w00t: I have to remind myself of the water too, didn't have that problem when I drank it with my meals. I joined a gym close enough to work that I can pop in on my lunch hour for a 30 min workout, I plan on alternating the days with arms/legs. should work out perfectly. Congrats on your 18 pounds ! make sure you use a pin so you won't have to redo your ticker everytime you change it :sad:

We have a golden retriever that weighs 25 pounds and I gotta tell you its a struggle to pick him up! thats so kewl! Keep me posted on how it goes with your situps and any strength training, I will be at 4 wks on tuesday. Thats what I do also, I gotta tell you, trying to fit my water in between meals (45 min after/15 mins after) its almost impossible to eat ! lol OMG Amanda, 41 lbs is unbelievable! ***BIG NEWS! As of today, I am only 1/2 pound away from my first goal, THE TURKEY DAY CHALLENGE of 20lbs!!!!!*** I am very excited. Good luck to everyone on our journeys!
