I believe you are not eating enough!!! You need to increase your protein amount. If I'm not mistaken we need at least 60 grams of protein. I think you "may" be getting in around 40. Our bodies go into starvation mode when we don't supply the correct foods. Ask your doctor what your menu should be. Good luck!

I'm afraid of what my *belly* will look like after weightloss

I feel the same way you do!!! I have a friend who had gastric bypass and she weighed the same as I did when I started (293) and yes it her hangs a little but not to the point where you say gross. She told me she did her exercises and kept her stomach moist, by putting lotion so the elasticity can return. Somewhat like a pregant woman does. So I included that in my regime as well. Hope this helps!! couldn't hurt. -
Question?? you weigh 172.8 or have you lost 172.8 either way, Congratulations!

Hello Everyone, I was banded on June 15, so today is my one month anniversary. I have only lost 15lbs. (no pre-op diet) I feel this is too slow; what do you think? My fill is only 2.5cc.

I bought this for my baby son, but I have just taken it over for my portion control.

High Protein Diet is WORKING!!! Dropped 3.5 lbs in a week!

I am also following the Lindora Program. Prior to having my surgery I was on the program and went from 283 to 253, but soon after my sister passed away and I stop going and gained the weight back and then some. 293, so I decided to have the band done. I was stuck for some weeks so I too decided to follow the program (on my own) to jump start the weight loss and so far these couple of weeks I've been doing better. I think if I do follow both the band and lindora program I should do much better.. -
I've notice that on the weekends I have a tendacy to PB alot and not during the workweek. I asked myself what the difference was and I came to the conclusion that I don't drink enough water. While at work I am constantly drinking water and when it's time to eat I'm able to eat more comfortably. I have the same fill 6.2, since my last fill I've lost 6lbs, but I now know drink your water, eat your PROTEIN and chew, chew, chew!!! Hope this helps. I have another fill scheduled for 10/10 and I'm also thinking about it!!!

I say school should come 1st, alway. As for the exercise try to squeeze in between things, such as park further, take the stairs, after you eat your lunch at work (which is much) take a small walk. This is more then what we use to do. Another thing I try to do is plan my day and lunch the night before, this only take a few minutes, but it releases some stress.... Good luck with all of it.... remember the payoff will come!!!

I was banded on 6/15 and a 27lbs lost... so I guess we are doing the same. I had my last fill on 09/10 and feel a little more restriction. Anyone can mention ANYthing good they ate and the next thing I know I'm craving it. I just tell myself I'm on a mission... and if I do eat it, trust me it's just a couple of bites to get rid of the cravings and pat myself on the back; 3 months ago I would have eaten the entire thing. PROGRESS!!! I see other people who's been banded around the same time and have lost twice this amount. At first it depressed me, but heck I'm not them... I am me! and 27lbs thinner. I'll take it and be happy. 9lbs a month is great and if I keep this pace, in a year I could (will be) 108 lbs thinner!!! yeah me!!!

I'm not sure if it the same one advertized on all the billboards, but if it is....RUN!!! I told a friend (lawyer) and he told me some horror stories about them. He did some research with his colleages and recommended Dr. Carson D. Liu. Dr. Liu did my surgery and I am truly greatful that I switched. He turned out to be the best!! Here is his # 310-208-0474. Good Luck on your search!

I never wanted the bypass, nor do I want it now. The lapband is not that difficult if you follow the rules. I was up and about in a day. Had my surgery on Monday, went to a job interview on Wednesday, so what does that tell you. Don't be scared!!! be excited!!! Congratulations on your best decision of your life!!!

I was banded on 06/15/09. According to my scale this a.m I have lost 19lbs. I gained 4 lbs these last two weeks. I was sick and I know I should have taken sugar free med's but that's what my DH brought home and whatever he brought home for dinner. bad girl. I go for a fill tomorrow, so I hope it jump starts my weight loss again. Congrats on your 24lbs!!!

I was just commenting this to my mother yesterday, and she never ceases to amaze me with her support. She told me that even butter takes it time to melt and when it does it DOES! I guess that's how our body works.
