Fell off the band wagon this weekend

I can really commiserate with you -- my weekend was DEFINITELY less than stellar! Why is it all the junk food goes down so easily and we have to fight to get the veggies and chicken down? I think we just need to pull ourselves back up on the wagon and admit we are human and can make mistakes. Yep, I still feel like crap for doing it, but I am going to forgive myself and move on!
  2. I want to see Ms. Nolan in about 2 years and see if she is STILL a size 10!

    Eating Out

I have more problems with "out to eat" food -- even when it's just me and my hubby. I don't know if it is the consistency, or what. It seems restaurant food is just a little more "sticky" -- breads, rice, pasta, or the steamed veggies tend to be broccoli or "tougher" veggies. But...yeah, I get stuck more in public!

    Wii for exercise?

Thanks for all your input. I am seriously considering the Wii, but have put it off. I might go get one this weekend!

You know you are a bandster when....

...or when you order NO drink in a restaurant and the server looks at you funny and asks (in that "you are strange sort of way") "Are you SURE I can't bring you a glass of water????"

You know you are a bandster when....

...when you ask for extra napkins at a restaurant -- not because you are a slob, but in case you have to slime!
  8. My total cost (in Kansas) was $16,500.

    HELP! Is this normal?

That is what being "stuck" feels like. How long ago did you have your surgery?
  12. I agree. It doesn't sound like the "typical" stuck pain. The doc needs to know.

    Sex three weeks out

My doc said I could have sex when I felt up to it. We waited 3 or 4 days. No pain!

    TURKEY DAY Challenge 2009

I am in! I would LOVE to be in Onederland by then. I should be, I am losing steadily at about a pound a week. It just seems like it is taking forever. Thanks for setting up the challenge and the worksheet!!!
  15. That's exactly what I was thinking...white tongue = dehydration.
  16. Just a question about the Slimquick pills. Do they contain stimulants. I would like to try them, but can't take stimulants (like extra caffeine)? Thanks!

    Not Sure What's Happening

Just to be on the safe side, you might want to give your doc's office a call. The continued "stuck" feeling after several hours just doesn't sound right. Good luck!

    Grapes??

Bummer! I LOVE grapes. I eat them almost everyday. I have only had 2 fills, but no probs so far. I sure hope they don't become a food that I cannot tolerate!

    So happy!

Wow! Fantastic. You give me hope that I too will lose this weight!
  20. AWESOME! Congratulations!
  21. Hi Honesty, Since your fill was Friday, you might still be a little swollen. If it doesn't get better soon, I would give your doctor a call. Good Luck!
  22. Hey Becky, I didn't take it wrong, what you were trying to say about sliders... Sliders just don't keep us filled as long as more bulky foods. My doc's office also approves nutritious slider foods, but gave me a hint... always try to eat a little Protein first. The protein takes longer to break down and will slow down the "slide" of yogurt or other softer foods. It's all about being satisfied (not hungry). We feel hungry if our pouch is not full. When we eat the slider foods, they slide into the lower stoma and we are hungrier earlier.
  23. I think there are quite a few posters who go to WW. The group support is great and the weekly weigh-in provides accountability. I have been thinking about it....

    I need my coffee....

I too was never told that I had to give up coffee. In fact, it was listed as one of the "okay" foods for the post-op diet.
