    July 21st!!!

Congratulations Jennifer!! Good luck with the liquid diet.
  2. Thanks possumtrot and Kathy!
  3. I completely understand where you are coming from. I am 27 and have never been in a long term relationship, unless you count the love of my life from age 7-10! Anyway, I've dated here and there but never have I had the "title" thing going on. Most of my friends are already married and/or have kids so I'm really the oddball out! It's funny that some days it bothers me to no end and then other days I am sooo grateful that don't have the stress and headache my friends have. I'm going to just be content and know that when it's time for me to be with that special man, it will happen. If I don't enjoy being alone with myself, nobody else will!

    Anyone else belong here?

BeenThereWasThat, I hope your surgery went well yesterday. I'm having surgery in the next few weeks and I am sooo excited that I will be thinner while still in my twenties (27). I have NEVER been in a normal weight category at any age so it will be exciting to try to get close. I think I've been overweight since I was 8 so being that it's nearly 2 decades later...now is as good as time as ever right?!

    July Surgeries

Hey everyone! I locked in my date yesterday. July 28th I will have my sleeve done!! Just a week or two ago I was saying I wish I could post in the July surgeries thread but I though it wouldn't be until later this year or next year. Now it's only 4 weeks away!! Best wishes to all.
  6. Congrats!! Thanks for sharing!
  7. Thanks Kelly! I will prob keep it to myself until afterwards as well. I don't think I can wait until the next the time I see them though. I was thinking it might be a nice surprise for my mother since she's always going on about my weight but I don't think I will be able to keep it in that long! We are really tight so I'm bound to spill the beans. Despite our closeness I just can't tell them beforehand.
  8. Thank you all for your support! I'll update if I share my decision with my fam and let you know how it went. Jennifer, I am interested to hear your experience. Good luck with your surgery!

    Went for surgery on 6/25

Wow, that is some scary stuff! It's terrible you went all the way down there and didn't have surgery but after that experience I wouldn't want to be put under either. I'm glad you made it through okay. As a nursing student that is one of my fears about medication administration. Those plungers can be hard to push slowly (especially for a newbie) and it is so important to get the timing right because of side effects like the one you had. I wish you the best as you try to do it on your own.
  10. I'm sorry you feel disappointed in the site. As you can tell by the responses you've received in this thread, we mean no harm and really are here for you!! I haven't read your original post so I don't know what complication you had but hopefully you are doing better! I'm going to find your other thread now. :-)
  11. I didn't know Sonic sells their ice in a bag. I love the texture! The hospital where I do my clinicals has great ice also but It would be nice to have it have home. I'm a gulper so it is going to be hard to sip sip sip. Especially with the thirsty feeling you guys are talking about. Hang in there!
  12. Congrats! Let us know how everything goes.
  13. I know I told you the other night but congrats again!!! I am so excited about the change that is coming (sometime in the near future lol). If you hit that big bucks send a few my way!:-)
  14. Thanks! Have you asked your dr about follow up? Even if he doesn't perform VSG's he may be able to provide the aftercare. I believe we just need labwork and the barium swallow at 3, 6 and 12mths out right?
  15. I too am going to have surgery with him once I find financing. I don't have insurance so I go to dr office that provide service specifically for people paying out of pocket. I am going to contact them to see if they will follow up or if they can refer me to someone who will follow up. I'm interested to see if anyone has found such a doc and how they went about finding him/her. Do you have any idea when you will have surgery?
  16. You both are doing great!
  17. Hi Deb. No I haven't scheduled yet. Now it's become a financial issue. I really hope I can figure something out soon so that I can get this done! Thanks for checking!

  18. Glad to hear you are doing so well! Continue to heal and have a safe trip home.

    That is soo great!

    ? about Aceves please..

I think the spinal is optional. I actually don't want it because I have scoliosis and I don't want anyone poking around back there! I heard the spinal works wonders for pain management though. Good luck with your surgery!
  21. Very good questions! I had a lot of the same ones but was going to wait closer to my surgery date to post. Now I don't need to! I've seen some posts about surgery with Aceves in the hospital sub-forum so check there for more info. Best of luck!

    So, tomorrow...

I love your website. You have a lot of good info on there. I pray your surgery went well today! Let us know how you are doing when you can.

    So, tomorrow...

Best of luck to you. I'll have to check your site out!
  24. Hey all! Just wanted to let you know that I have finally been approved and will be having surgery with Dr. Aceves! I'm still working on scheduling but after two years of wanting this, I finally feel like I am making progress. I am thinking about the beginning of August. I will be a nervous wreck this entire summer but will have satisfaction in knowing it will be my last as a big gyrl.:wink0: I need to follow a 7 day pre-op "liver shrinking diet" which is not the same as a liquid diet, thank God! As I get more details I will share them with you.
