I had a seroma that opened up and I had to have the wound debreeded (sp) because it got infected. The surgeon that opened up the wound made the opening larger than the originalm opening. It started at 10 in by 7 in. Now I have a wound vaccuum and will have it for quite a while to heal up. It is frusterating. It is a good thing I am not working because there is no way I could get a home health nurse here after hours. The problem started because the drain on that side never drained anything. I mean NOTHING. The surgeon probably gone back in and moved the drain, but he never mentioned it. This can happen to anyone, regardless of the surgeon.

Paying for Plastics (Mexico)
bayareanan replied to EmilyIsSleeved's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I started saving after my sleeve and have almost all of it saved now. -
I am going to use him once I save enough money. He was quick with calling back and answered all of my questions. My case is different as I have only lost 20 lbs since my surgery 18 months ago. Yes, I am followiing the diet, but I havent lost much. I take 3 different antipsychotics and everyone thinks that is part of the problem. Anyway,I want to get a panni and have lipo on my hips as they stick out. He was the only one that would take me on at 300lbs. Others would do the panni but not the lipo. His price is also competitive. The price he quoted me for not just a panni but tightening the muscles as well.

bayareanan replied to Better than dead's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I had my lap band surgery with Dr Victor Gonzalez at Medical City. I moved before going to TJ to have a revision done. I should have gone with the sleeve to begin with. -

Band to Sleeve in TEXAS? Doc referrals DfW area or Denton?
bayareanan replied to Poorehouse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I lived in Plano I went to Dr Cribben's talk about lap band. My insurance wouldnt pay for him, only Dr Gonzales. I feel like I had good care and the procedure was one at Medical Center, Dallas. I have since done a revision to a sleeve with Dr A Ortiz in TJ. I also felt I had excellent care. -

I havent lost much weight and the docs and nutritionist feel it is bacause of the anitpsychotics I take. I am on high doses of three of them. I hate my panni as it hangs below my pubic bone.I also want to lipo on my hips. I have found one dr in TJ willing to take on the case. I was turned down totally by one doc and the other would do the panni but the lipo. Has anyone in my position looked into this surgery

Do the plastic docs in TJ provide shuttle service to San Diegomairport?
-
I am bipolar and have had surgery. I don't think it has effected me in any way. I have had problems getting a good weight loss that the surgeon and nutritionist feel is due to antipsychotic meds. But that doesn't seem to bother others I have seen on the board.

bayareanan replied to Trixie2012's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
When I had my band reversal I had to stay one extra day in the hotel because of it. -

OCC & Dr. Ariel Ortiz - My Story
bayareanan replied to Trixie2012's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You dont need any of those tests done if you are having surgery in Mexico. When you get there they will do some limited blood work, give you an EKG and at least at OCC you will meet with the nutritionist. I am looking at having plastics done in TJ and that DR wants extensive blood work EKG and Chest Xray a moth before coming down for surgery I dont want to tell my doc what I am doing so I am going to look for another plastics guy in TJ. -
Telephones & Tijuana - Whats the best way to communicate?
bayareanan replied to richj242's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I have AT&T and added the Mexico international plan. I also found out the hospital allowed calls to the US for free. The DR told me that and I used it. You might want to ask if your DR has the same thing. -
I an trying to get a ball park price for just a Panni in TJ. Anyone?

Happy with my trip to Mexico with OCC!
bayareanan replied to MrsPiggleWiggle's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Dr Martinez usually operates along with Dr Ortiz. I would have no problems with having him do my surgery solo. I have had 2 procedures there and enjoyed the experience. When I was home I had questions and Dr Martinez called me several times quickly after I left the message. -
Besides the cost and expertise of my TJ doctor I was happy I could travel alone. If I had the surgery in the US I would have to have someone take me home after surgery and I just didn't have anyone available.

Dr's note from Dr in Mexico ?
bayareanan replied to vegasneon's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went for a long recovery even though I really didn't need it. I took 5 weeks off and enjoyed the vacation. I had no problems with a note from Mexico and my state disability paid with no problems.
