My "sleeve experience in Cancun, MX" starts tomorrow!
bayareanan replied to FABby40's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
One of the reasons I chose Mexico was because the surgeons have done so many of them, many many more than the US doctors. Also the price of course -
Dr A Ortiz did my sleeve. I am now looking at having just a Panni done in TJ. Does anyone have a suggestion for a plastic doc. Also, can anyone give me an idea of what it will cost?

Does anyone have a recommedation for TJ? Also, how much did it cost?

Was THAT dumping? (Wine related)
bayareanan replied to freethinker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't had the problem from wine, thank god. But ice cream gives me the symptoms you just described. It is horrible. I can eat weight watcher ice cream though. -

Losing Slow At Very Beginning?
bayareanan replied to LoserMama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Danal, I eat about 600 cal with no,carbs other than veggies. I still need to exercise though. I weigh 300 lbs and should be dropping fast bit I,am not. My doc and nutritionist think it is because I take a lot of 3 different antipsychotics that are known for weight gain. I haven't given up though. Besides,,I can't eat much anyway. -

I had surgery 12/6 and haven't lost anything since the first week. I am down 10lbs only. -
I just took fresh lemons off my tree and am trying to decide what to make with them. I just bought this house last year so this is my first crop.

Thanks for the yummy ideas. I have enough lemons to try them all. Going to take some to my DIL too.

Weight loss for 300+ sleevers!
bayareanan replied to jennaleigh1992's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started at 310 and am presently 297. I had surgery on 12/6. My nutritionist (who is also an MD) thinks it is because of the medication I take. I still hope to start losing soon. -
Anyone taking antipsychotic and nit losing much weight? My nutritionist feels this is the problem sin e my diet has even prestige. I had a sleeve and then a plication over it. It isn't about my diet or my exercise. The meds is the only thing left.

March 18/Dr Pompa/LIMARP
bayareanan replied to Jniniffer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Inwas never told. We weeper with Dr A Ortiz who is a mid priced surgeon and she said it was substantially more due to her previous surgery. -
After surgery I had to leave my Starbucks car d at home (and I won't use my debit card because I don't get Starbucks points). I don't like coffee and the only thing I like is the frap. Soi had to take Starbucks totally out of my life.

March 18/Dr Pompa/LIMARP
bayareanan replied to Jniniffer's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The mother of someone that was sleeved with me in TJ had her surgery with Dr Pompa. She had some type of gastric surgery years ago and wanted the sleeve as she never lost much weight. After reviewing herXray nobody else would do the surgery bit Dr Pompa would. The price was a lot higher than usual, but she didn't care. I have spoken with the daughter and her mom has done very well with her new sleeve. -
They dr will fill out FMLA paperwork, disability insurance and also a note to go back to work. I went to Dr A Ortiz. His return to work note had a BIG picture on the top of the form with Obesity Control Center on it. I asked them to remove it, and they did. Then the only thing that said Obesity Control Center was fine print on the bottom of the paperwork. You might want to see how your note looks before you leave.

What to bring to Tijuana?!?
bayareanan replied to UnzippingTheFatSuit's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
The last time I went to MX I didnt get the international plan because I didnt plan on making any calls. Unfortunately, my paypal account was hacked while I was there and I had to call thyem (on hold a long time) to report the problem and then call my bank to put stop payments on the transactions. The bill for this was $170!!! Get the International plan. It is like $10. -
