Calores hidden in the most peculiar places
bayareanan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been on a hunt to find calories that I may be missing when I count due to slow weight loss. I found another one today. 1 tbsp of coffee Mate has 40 calories and 5 gr of Carbs! And I have been using 3 of them. I have switched from Diet Dr Pepper to coffee so that I can still get some caffeine in the mornings. I cant stand black coffee but may have to learn to like it now. What hidden calories you y'all found? -
Calores hidden in the most peculiar places
bayareanan replied to bayareanan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I no longer drink soda's. That is why I am trying to replace it with coffee. I need the caffeine in the AM. -
My doctor required a Cardiac clearance because of my age (52). The Cardiologist made me do a stress test. It wasnt much fun but it was the longest few minutes of my life. It is nice to know my ticker is strong though.

I bought all sorts of things I thought I would need and didnt. I didnt use liquid tylenol, Gas-X or most of the medifast creamed soups I bought. I was still glad I was prepared. -
Getting Frustrated!!!
bayareanan replied to zeniada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am here with you sister! My loss has been much slower than I expected and am wondering if I made the right choice. Even when I have been on strict diets and exercised 6/week I still barely lost anything. I know I( have been bad the last 2 weeks because of the holidays and getting used to my son being deployed. I only gave 5cc in a 14in band and just hope it will get better. -
When I 1st was banded I could only eat a small amount.....
bayareanan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was first banded I got full off a small amount, like half a sandwich. While I doremain full for a reasonable time I can eat as much as I could pre band (I dont, but I could). I have had 2 fills for a toal of 5cc in a 14in band. Since I am staying full, what will further fills do for me? I really want to get back to the feeling I had early on where I was full quickly. Will this happen? -

Dr says my calorie count cant be right Grrrrr
bayareanan posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my second fill today. I had lost 4lbs since my last fill which corresponded with my own records. I mentioned to him that I would have expected to lose more than 4lbs since I was averaging 800 cal and walking the treadmill 3-4 days/week. He was in my face saying there is no way I could have only been eating 800 calories. I have been told this before when I went through another weight loss program. Like I am not able to accurately keep track of my calories. I include my cheats (wine and chocolate) and even count my diet juices. I did not want to cause an altercation (Flair for the drama here), but I wanted him to understand that my calorie count IS accurate. I am hoping by next fill I will have a better loss so we can avoid this issue. It is a battle I dont want to fight again. It only brings negativity. -
This wont work for everyone, but I will be alone this holiday as my only son is in Kuwait. Rather than cook massive amounts of food I have decided to spend in on a 3 day liquid diet to see if it will speed up my loss. If my son can eat Holiday Meals Ready to Eat, I can stand being back on liquids for 3 days.

I too had no gas pains.I only had discomfort from where the insisions were and that was managed by taking it easy. No problem as all. -

Stars, I was denied in about 2 weeks from Cigna because it was an exclusion, so it shouldnt take that long. Thankfully my insurance changed this year and it was covered. -

Getting my first fill today.
bayareanan replied to alvapo1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dont expect to feel any different after your first fill. I dont think many people notice a difference. That will change as you get further into your fills. I did notice a difference on second fill. -

Sorry you are having problems with the last fill.I hope the unfil works out well. I see you had surgery in Mexico. Are you getting your fills there or did you find a local physician? -
My clothes don't hurt!!
bayareanan replied to mikki21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought my pants were starting to feel too big. I washed them all and dried them for a long time. They are still too big. I went from a jean size of 28 or 30 to a 26. This is the first sign of progress I have seen. I did the happy dance. -

bayareanan replied to bayareanan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for (most) of your replies. I will try to exercise more days or for longer times as that is the obnly thing I can see that I can do. But, I will admit I have been bad this weekend as a reaction to the doc's comment and have sabatoged my self due to my poor choices. I really need something positive to happen weight wise so that I have validation I am doing something right. So, back to a wine and chocolate free zone beginning tomorrow. -
Do you...wing it, calorie count or 3/2 it?
bayareanan replied to LargeMediumSmall's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I journal everything. This includes my cheats (wine and chocolate), my chewable Calcium and my diet juices. Then again, my loss has been small. Who knows what is the best way to do it. Personal Quest. -

What do YOU do when your calories are too low?
bayareanan replied to RandomRan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a fill today and asked my doc the same question. Do I need to be sure I get 800 calories a day? His response was, no you dont. As long as you are getting 60-70grams of Protein you dont need to worry about eating any more. You have enough reserves to last you a LONG time,. So, I am not going to try to meet 800 calories now and will see what happens. -
Elfie, Can you please list a typical day's meals for us? I havent figured out how to hit 1200 cal and not have an incredible amount of Protein.
