I wish you the very best Tabithan. I had my surgery on March 7th. I have had some unwanted gas pains BUT NO REGRETS!!!!WOO HOO!!!

Sue, It is called Whey Protein powder here. It is vanilla flavored. Did I mention it has 23g Protein per serving (8 oz of H20). I try to conform to quit when I start to feel full on the soup. That has usually been about 1/3 to 1/2 cup right now. But I haven't been that hungry yet. Today was a little rough, we had to go out of town for a bit and I stopped and got some Egg Drop Soup. My DH had a big and tasty and fries at Mac's. I gotta admit I felt a little twinge of "poor pitiful me", but I got through it!

Well, I hope I am back for good! My computer is up and running again. What a fiasco with Tech Support! Sugarbear: I had surgery the same day as you. You could have written my lapband story! As Pam said I ended up with hernia repair also. I had the same "gas" pains as you and in the same location. I kept denying they could be gas pains way up there! I talked to Pam and as she explained, they are not what we know as "normal" gas pains. It is much better now. I still don't have much of an appetite and I have to keep better track of what I am eating. I think I am missing the Protein intake by a bit. I am going to do better starting today. Dr. Pam says that protein is very important for me to heal. And...not to skimp on my pain meds. (Thanks Doc!) I have lost about 13 pounds since starting on the liquid before surgery. Sue in Russia, I have some protein stuff from Wal-Mart. It tastes cruddy with just Water. Yesterday I mixed it with skim supreme milk and a little crushed ice. I added about 1/2 tsp of Crystal Lite (strawberry kiwi this time), thru it in the blender, it was excellent. At least it will not go to waste and it has alot of Proteins per serving. I have been eating the Campbell's microwaveable Soups, yogurt, cream of rice, knox Jello bars, sugar free fudsicles. The soups I only eat about 1/2 serving and then refrigerate the rest for another meal. They are very soothing. After much delay!!!!!My computer is still out. I guess I am going to have to bring it in for repairs. Believe me I have spent hours with HP and 2Wire! I am at the library which is about a block away from my home so I walked here. I have had and still have pain. Dr. Ganser said to expect it because of the hernia repair. I have absolutely no appetite but I think the pain meds may have something to do with that. They put in the small band, I think he said it was 7.9? But I am not sure. It will be a few days before I am up and about again. I am going to sign off for now, I am pooped! Thanks, Gail

It's my first time to post on this forum. I am so happy I found it tonight. I will be having my surgery on Wednesday the 7th. Ooooh 7-7 and 7 lbs that I had to lose before surgery. Where I come from that's a lucky number!!!777. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers, I'll be back!

Hey Pam, I have been following you all over this board:)! Glad to see everything is pretty "coppa setik" for you. (I know there has to be a better spelling for that. Is that French? Just kidding! I have been busy getting ready for Reno. We are coming up tomorrow as my DH has a doc appt. and we need to get new tires on my car. So plenty of time to do some shopping on Tuesday for anything I may have forgotten. I have been kind of busy today getting "stuff" ready. I kinda ate my "last supper supper supper" tonight. Ate some steak, summer squash and salad. It was very good and I also drank my bariatrix shake. I am going to try to be very good the next two days! I really wasn't that bad but I probably ate more than I should have. I forgot I also had mushroom and onions! Hope your feeling great! I am excited but in a way calm and serene too! Just happy this is happening for me. Did they weigh you before surgery? I have lost my weight but I keep thinking oh my god what if my scale is wrong and they refuse to operate!

Sorry Mags, I worry myself about that happening with only 3 days left. I have been taking an Airborne whenever I suspect even a sniffle! Hopefully, they will turn it right around for a quick reschedule for you!

Woo Hoo! Three days to go. I have done pretty darn well on the bariatrix. As a matter of fact, I may miss it. I take the vanilla and banana flavors and put about 3/4 tsp of powdered Crystal Light and WALLAH! A great shake/smoothie! I think I will probably order some more. I have lost about 3 lbs. more than my requirement. I am going to pretty much stick to the liquids and veggies until the night before surgery. It can't hurt. Good Luck to all you Monday and Tuesday and WEDNESDAY:biggrin1: I will definitely post when I am able to after the surgery! I forgot to mention, I have a Magic Bullet and I put it in with crushed ice and water and blend it to a shake thickness.

Well, I can definitely stay if I want to. Since my surgery is 9 am and I stay overnite too, I will see how I am doing the second day. It's putting a smile on my face right now thinking about you guys and your progress and attitude! Good Job! I think I am going to bed now. I have to go to Yerington with my DH to look at a truck with him so I may be in and out. sleep well!

Ok you guys I have spent the better part of 8 hours in Recovery on my @$#%^%&&*@!!!!Computer. It will still probably take me another 8 hours to get the hardware all loaded again! All HP could tell me in Pakistani was that some files got corrupted. I spoke to 4 different people and I am sorry, I try to be nice but I couldn't hardly understand a thing they said. I was really getting upset and I don't like to be rude ya know! I felt like the last one was doing it on purpose! Meanwhile because I couldn't understand them correctly, I ended up spending $70.00 to have them run a backup disk. Jeesh! I just should have insisted on speaking to someone that could speak English better. OK, I AM DONE! Thanks for the advice on the taking it easy Pam and Chris. I will. I needed my puter so I could get my fixes on Lapband.com hehehe!

Oh, that I am. I am counting the days down! Hoping and praying nothing happens to change everything!

kyethra, Just stay on these forums and keep reading and keep getting you support built up. You can do this OH Yeah!!!! Using the protein shakes has really, really helped me. Yes I still get hungry but it helps me forget for awhile and then I usually always choose good stuff to eat,(veggies etc.) It's March 1st and the train has pulled out of the station. You are on this train with your friends, find your seat and get ready for the train ride! Gail

Well, I am back home in Hawthorne again. Got my pre-ops done yesterday. 6 days and holding!!!! Welcome NVgirl! You guys must be somebody's pet, I never did have a a special POC for me. I just kept calling them til I had followed up on everything. Pam, I Called your office, you were gone already. My fax is plugged in but I IMAGINE YOU HAVE OTHER THINGS ON YOUR MIND!!!!!!Good Luck girl! I am thinking of you! Chris glad you are doing well, I enjoy seeing your posts.
