Now I know this is a stupid question and has probably been asked and answered before. And....sometime during my lengthy life someone has probably explained it to me before but...why can't we get Protein in a concentrated pill form? Thanks for any input!

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???
gailannr replied to Success in lapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Redfred, It looks like you are doing really great! Dr. Ganser is my doc too. Have you had your first fill yet? I am now losing a lot of the restriction I had. I can eat almost anything plus in much larger amounts. My hunger is coming on with a vengence! I keep telling myself I am going back on liquids for a few days. If you have had your first fill already, could you tell a difference shortly afterwards? Thanks, Gail -

Tracy Best Wishes to you! I have noticed how positive and supportive you always are with your comments. I remember when you were first told about your date not happening in March. I know how upset I would have been! You were very gracious even tho your heart must have been hurting! I will be watching for your posts! Gail -

OK, I am going to try to do an jpg. attachment of our quads. Hang on! Couldn't get it to work. My file sizes are all over 100mb. They are anywhere from 112mbs to 125 mbs. Is there a way I can reduce them? I am not that familiar with reducing the files. -

I usually just walk around the neighborhood here. They having a walking path down at the park. I have been threatening going there. I will take my pedometer with me and find out how far it is. I say that like I am a real pro with that pedometer. Laugh!! I have never used it yet. I found it in the airport one time! I am guessing only about a mile. It has a pretty steep incline coming back. -

Hi Chris and Pam and everyone! I wish I could meet you for the walk but about 2 miles is about all I can do at this time. I keep plugging away! Chris, we just sold our 3500 Silverado gas guzzling long bed extended cab. We loved that truck but it just used way to much gas. Anyway we are not sorry we sold it. We found a 1997 crew cab, diesel dually in Yerington for $6400. It had some serious rust and damage to the bed of the truck. Like one fender was all blown out. My DH thinks it blew a tire and did the damage to the fender. At any rate, we went to Otts Farm Equipment in Fallon and are waiting for them to call and say the tool boxes and running boards are in and then they will install the flatbed (in stock) and everything else. My DH wanted to be able to piggy back the quads and also take the Gold Wing if we go on a trip. We have a 5th wheel right now but are planning on getting a trailer to pull behind the flatbed. Needless to say he is pretty excited about it! We had a ball quading yesterday. Maiden voyage. We just love them! P.S. I don't like the toy haulers either! Gail -

I won't be in town but thanks for asking. I came home again Friday nite. Didn't get any South Beach. My DH ran out of time! -
faithmd, You didn't have to change my mind but after reading this, you certainly made me yell "Hoo YA!!!! Sadly, probably the only thing that will ever change "their" minds is a terrible terrible catastrophe. Sadly again, I think of my children and grandchildren and yes, great-grandchildren and whether they will have a life here on earth as we know it.

Barb, I just had to jump in here and say :clap2: to you! It must be a great feeling! I am about 1 pound away from doing the same thing! So send good vibes my way! Good Job! Gail

No on the South Beach. I'll have to buy it in Reno on Friday. My DH has a doc appt. So will do some serious shopping then. -
Connie, watch the fig newtons close. I remember a while back one of the guys ate a couple of them and really got sick. I think the combo of the cookie dough and fig filling turned to glue for him in his little tummy! Gail

Too Shay Mousecrazy! I was thinking the same thing. All she has to do is turn on any TV station except Fox News and sometimes she can even get it there i.e. Alan Combs and the extras that are allowed to speak so we get "fair and balanced" news! Now excuse me while I try to find the correct spelling of "Too Shay." Ok, I found it! touché!

Yes, the silver SE. We haven't taken them out yet. Hopefully this weekend. There are a lot of places to ride around here. They are not all chewed up like around Reno and Carson. We used to ride all around there when we lived there. This is our 4th set of quads. We decided these were probably going to be our last so we got what we wanted. They really are sharp. -

That's great Jay! Happy Bandland! -
To Jack and Mousecrazy and others, I agree, thank you for saying what many of us are thinking but are not darn near anywhere as articulate as you have been! Thanks for being our voices out here in the wilderness. I read somewhere that 10 Americans are killed every day by illegal aliens. If we do the math let's see, that is 3,650 a year. THAT WOULD MEAN THAT 18,250 Americans will be killed by ILLEGAL ALIENS in 5 years. Doesn't seem possible does it? Maybe we should try to negotiate with them. Bring them to the peace table or something. Maybe smoke something in a pipe with them.

Your not getting any arguement from me!! I happen to believe you are right and it's ironic that I layed in bed last night thinking this very same thing. I drink fluids to fill the void and quench my thirst but I am not doing the chug-a-lug thing! Thanks for posting your thoughts. -

I thought you were really bummed out and depressed about your restriction and that's why I wasn't seeing you on here. I just felt bad for you and I am glad that you seem to be doing better. I am going to try those South Beach meals too. As soon as I get to Reno to shop again! Bedtime....Later -

Yes, my DH is going with me. He has been just great about it. He is so supportive! I told him tonight at dinner to stop being such a caretaker! I think I hurt his feelings a little. Sometimes he is too much of a mother hen! I want to go see the Wild Hogs movie. We ride motorcycle, I have a license but I sold my bike a couple of years ago and now I just ride behind my hubby. We have a big old comfortable Gold Wing. Actually this is our 7th Gold Wing. I had a Harley 1200 Sportster and an 800 Kawasaki Vulcan that I rode. Did you see that we went to Winnemucca and bought two new 700 Grizzlies? They are the SE Silver ones. Can't wait to go riding, hopefully this weekend. It was so yuckey here today I didn't go walking. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. Gail -

WELCOME CHERYL!!!:clap2: HOORAY YOU GOT BANDED! I was banded on March 7th. Doing pretty darn good I think! Pam! Finally I heard from you. I thought something was radically wrong but I didn't know if I should call you or not. I am so glad you are feeling a little better. I am doing pretty well! Actually, I am feeling great. I try to walk everyday. No more than about 30 min but at least I do that. NO PBs thank you Lord! My ticker doesn't reflect it but I have lost at least 20 since my all time high in February. I can see it and feel it. I don't have a whole lot of restriction but then, I am chicken to push it. Talk to you later! Gail
