Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

Well, the "test" thing was because with all these changes on the board etc. somewhere along the way my ticker thingy disappeared. So now it is back on again. Be sure to let me know how that fill is working. I go in on the 29th. I am able to eat too much so I sure hope it gives me some restriction. I haven't gained this last few weeks but, I haven't lost either. Too much "no no" foods! I haven't heard from Pam, hope everything is ok. We are riding quads and motorcycle this weekend. Not going anywhere in particular. It's kinda cool to ride right from our front door and be in the desert in about two blocks. Do you know where Bodie is? We will probably ride in that direction. Have a nice/great weekend Chris and Pam and everyone else! Gail

Reno or N. Nevada Bandsters out there???

Alicia, actually I never really minded the shakes. I used the blender and added ice, strawberries and sometimes sugar free choc. syrup. I thought/think they are pretty good. I was banded on March 7th and I just had one again this morning. I really need my Protein and I have just continued to drink them, just not as often as I had to earlier Chris is right, you need to drink them. So experiment a little. With the vanilla you can add different flavors etc. Gail The berry () best to you Alicia!

It might be running right down the middle but 2/3rds are saying they would like it changed.

    Change?

Otherwise we should rename LapBandTalk.Com to AthiestChristianBoyloveMormanAbortionTalk.com. Maybe we really need to re-evaluate our priorities here. I think you nailed it very well!
  8. Hi, I received an email birthday greeting from Lapband yesterday. My birthday is today the 10th and I noticed I am not listed on the birthday list. Just thought I would let you know in case it's a quirk of some kind. Thanks, Gail

NVgirl, Congrats on your band! It will improve everyday. I had quite a bit of pain after because of a hernia repair but I am doing great now. I just need to get real serious with the protein again! Good losing to you! Gail

He will be flying the KC-135 Refueler when he finishes his training class for it. He just got his Pilot's license through the Air Force. He trained on the T-1 and T-6. Now he goes to Altus, OK for the training on the refueler.

    Edit Rant

Strange but at some point in time in the last month, I was no longer notified by email when a new posting on a forum I subscribed to appeared. Now I get notified on forums that I didn't realize I even subscribed to and when I try to "unsubscribe", I can't. Is there a problem with this particular area? Thanks!

    Marchies In April

Hi Sugarbear, I have lost approximately 27 lbs since since my all time high and about 1 month before surgery. I went on the liquid diet for about 2.5 weeks before surgery and lost about 7 lbs. Since my first and only fill I have lost about 2 lbs. (April 17th) since surgery, 12 pounds. So that comes in at about 1.75 pounds a week since surgery. That's a pretty good average I think. I am happy with it. Well, more would be nice but I'll take this any day as opposed to gaining! At first it didn't seem like I got any more restriction than I had but the last couple of nights I have felt restriction/fullness. Keep in touch and hang in there! Gail I don't get a lot of excersize maybe about 1/2 hr 3 times a week and that is just walking.

    Marchies In April

LL, good for you on your weight loss. I also have lost about the same. I was married for 25 years and lost my husband. He died from an Arterio Venus Malformation (like the Senator from SD). That was back in 1989. My first husband weighed 185 and was 6'1" and never had a weight problem. I eventually remarried and have been happily married after making a few adjustments to marrying someone totally the opposite of my first DH (LOL). I had the misfortune of having a new person training when I had my first fill and he did not have a very soft touch. Yes, I had a novacaine shot but it still hurt quite a bit. I hope when I get my second fill that his technique has improved or I get someone else. I do believe tho that the majority of the fills have little or no discomfort. Good Wishes to you!

    Marchies In April

Tammy, I think Marchies in May is cool. Just keep it going each month but change for the month. It is so easy to just type in Marchies in the search box and up pops the thread.
  19. We will be traveling to Laughlin AFB, TX on April 27th where our son will be receiving his "Silver Wings" on April 25th at Laughlin Air Force Base, TX. My daughter-in-law is his strongest supporter and partner. I ask God to Bless them and all military families as they continue their journey together. -------------------------- This was read on a local radio morning show. It is so heart-felt and emotional that even the hosts had a break down after reading it. I still have tears in my eyes. Thank you for our freedom and GOD BLESS AMERICA. Letter to a Military Spouse While I have never had the pleasure of meeting you and your husband, I felt the need to write you and express a very deep feeling that I have in my heart. I as a person, am not brave. I do not tackle things head on, as I hate confrontation. I will travel 100 miles out of my way just to avoid a conflict. I am a American woman that has no idea what is going on in the military other than what I hear on the news. I never had to let go of someone so that they could go fight for people that they did not know, people that sometimes do not appreciate or understand what they are fighting for. I have never had a sleepless night of worry because of a report that another bomb has exploded and I still haven't heard from my husband. I have never had to wait for months on end to hold the one that I love so much. I have never had to tell my children that daddy wasn't coming home tonight because he was so far away fighting for something that they aren't yet old enough to understand. I have never had to hold my head up high and suppress the tears as I hear that it will be at least another six months of separation before my loves one gets to come home. I have never had to deal with a holiday away from the one that I thought I would share every day of my life with. And I have never had to feel the panic, rising in my heart at the sound of a ringing phone or knock at the door for fear that it is the news that everyone is terrified of getting. For the reasons listed above, I cannot tell you that I understand how you feel. I cannot tell you that you must be strong. I cannot say that you shouldn't be angry, because you " knew what you were getting into when you married a military man." I cannot say these things because I have never had to walk in your shoes. What I can say for certain is that because of your unselfish acts of bravery and your husbands willingness to stand up for those who see him as " just another soldier"---- I will never have to walk in your shoes. I do understand that as a military wife you are expected to uphold a certain amount of control , but I never understood how you could do it, until now. I have figured out that you are not like other woman. You are of a special breed. You have a strength within you, that holds life together in the darkest of hours, a strength of which I will never possess. The faith you have is what makes you stand out in a crowd; it makes you glow with emotion and swell with pride at the mention of The United States of America. You are a special lady, a wonderful partner and a glorious American. I have more respect for your husband than I could ever tell you, but until recently I never thought much about those that the soldier leaves at home during deployment. Until this moment I could never put into words exactly what America meant to me. Until this moment, I had no real reason to... Until I heard of you. Your husband and his military family hold this nation close, safe from those who wish to hurt us.... But you and those like you are the backbone of the American family. You keep the wheels in motion and the hearts alive while most would just break completely down. Military families make this nation what it is today. You give us all hope and you emit a warming light at the end of a long dark tunnel. Because of you and your family...I am able to be me. I am able to have my family. I am able to walk free in this great land. Because of you and your family, I can look ahead to the future with the knowledge that life is going to be okay. Because of you and your family, I can awake to a new day, everyday. I realize that you are a stronger person than I will ever be because of these things and I just wanted to take the time today to say thank you to you and your family for allowing me that freedom. I will never be able to repay this dept to you, as it is unmatchable. However, I hope that you know that no matter where you are... what you doing... what has happened today...or what will happen tomorrow...your husband will NEVER be " just another soldier" to me... And you, my dear sweet lady, will never be forgotten. You are all in my prayers everyday and I pray that God will bring you back together with your loved one safely. Sincerely, Melissa G. Bouldin-Reeves
  20. Well, I have noticed the "blatthering" has reduced significantly! So there must have been some truth to it!
  21. Has this been festering all this while?
  22. It must have been something you said. I don't remember it but I am sure I disagreed with whatever it was you said. It's ok with me if you want to end this conversation.
  23. So does your rule book say that I can't say anything when someone says something that I disagree with? As in when I think someone is being rude and bullying, something along the lines that I referred to?
