Well I failed the water test and couldnt tell if water was sitting or passing through, they even tightened and said I should feel it now and I felt nothing? the water always seems to go down and never stops?

I got my 3rd fill and they said last time I got filled to 1.7 and this time I only had 1.0 in my band. I thought this was really wierd I lost .7 and got worried but they told me it happens sometimes. They only filled me back up to 1.5 seems I cant pass the water test? I cant feel the water going down or stoping...so they said if I can eat alot to come back and they would try again. This kinda sucks cause my wife is losing like 12-17 pounds in 45 days and I lost 4! :cry and men should lose faster...

Got my 2nd fill on tuesday and I can still eat alot! I have about .4 the frirst fill and 1/3 this time making a total 1.7 put in my band now and the doctor said I should be full pretty quick and its not happening. My wife says I should go back next week for another fill but its still sore from the last time. I am following the rules,eating right and exercising. Anyone else had this happen? should I worry? My first fill didnt hurt at all, yesterday I got my second fill and it hurt and is sore. Called and they said that is normal especially when they had to find it and make sure it was right.

I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and I can still eat as much as I want..? I ate a hamburger (homeade) the other day and my wife thinks there must be something wrong..go back tomorrow for another fill.

I got my first fill yesterday and my wife did too, my wife feels just like she is suppost too and gets full quick. They had my drink the watter and I told them it went down real slow and even burped once. I went today and had a creamy bowl of Soup with just liquid and never got full and now I am STARVING... I can eat all I want. They told me my band was already pretty tight and I shouldnt be able to eat alot. Well I can, my wife says well lets go back monday and get you another fill, I dont want to be pricked again for a while so it looks like I will just have to wait a while and eat normal? did this happen to anyone else?

so glad to hear that! My doc has us on liquids for 48 hours after a fill and soft for 24 hours...find that REALLY hard to do cause I am so hungry! I will be wait til I get on normal food and see what happens. thanks for the great info! Mark

I always drank cokes and thought that would be hard to quit, but I found a new drink that has 0% everything. Dasani flavored Water is really good and good for you. So far I drink one in the morning, one about 1:30 and then one at night. They fill me up and my doctor told me to keep drinking them they cant hurt anything. Just thought someone might want to try them when replacing cokes.. Mark

I drink crystal light sometimes but to me this Water doesnt even compare cause its so good. plus its easy to take with you. Mark

I have lost 18lbs in 7 days here, the doctor said as long as I am eating good that men lose weight faster than women and its normal. I was used to taking in tons of fat due to eating what I want everyday (like really anything FRIED). Well you cut that back and your body will take it from your body fat until everything levels out. I am now at 1 lb a day not 3 lbs like I was 4 days ago.

I cheat most of the time...seems other women just pop in my head! What is fun is if there is a person flirting with you but you know you wouldnt cross the line, then take it out on your partner!

My wife and I were banded on the 27th! She went in at 3:00pm and I went in at 6:00pm. I went in and had my IV put in at 9 in the morning and the rest of the time sat with family. I was really nervouse but everyone at the hospital was great. I got out about 9:00 that night and was half awake and the first thing I did was go to the bathroom and then they took out my IV and had me answer a few questions and then I was in the car headed home. Went to bed that night and woke up around 2:00am and then realized I was not getting out of bed by my self. I called my wifes brother in the next room and he came in and simply pulled me up. Getting back in bed was the same way I had to have him lay me back. The next day I was sore but better. Every day got better and I went for short walks. Friday night was the last day I took pain pills due to them not helping with soreness. I am back at work today and about 85% back to normal. I am a little light headed everynow and then. I have gone from 295 to 290 surgury day to 279 today. Feels great to come back to work and everyone is like..you lost some weight you can see it in your face! Well tomorrow my wife and I are going to get banded. Dr Wellborn in Little Rock is doing it and we have herd really good things about him. My wife is set up at 9:00 am and I am at 11 am. We have to go get blood work done today and pay for everything ...:faint:.... I think thats the hardest part. I am getting nervouse now, really cause I have never been in the hospital for anything. My wife and I are having the lap band on a thursday the 27th and we have to have someone take care of our 10 month old little girl. How long before we should be feeling ok and can have her back around with out being tired and really sore? The doctor said saturday we should be up walking and getting around good..seems really soon!? thanks Mark

I am looking forward to several things once I lose weight! Its really making me want to work out and keeping me motavated! I want to go shopping and not have to go to a special store for my shirts and pants! 3xl is hard to find and 44/30 pants are real hard to find! I want to be able to get in and out of a sports car with out looking like "big guy in a little car" I want to fly on a plane and not be so uncomfortable! I cant wait til I can do things with out getting winded so easy! I cant wait til I can go buy a motorcycle and not exceed the weight limit!!! O ya and not being a FAT DADDY!! BEING THERE FOR MY DAUGHTER! Did anyone else have things that motivated them to lose weight?

I think alot of people do wonder and sex after the band. I know I did! I always wondered what weight loss did to your sex life? I ask my doctor about my wife and I having sex after the band and he said if I could get it I could have it!!! lol

I am 27 and my wife is 25 and we are doing it together. We dont have the health issues yet but we know they would start soon. So we both want to get it done early. We are both going in on the 27th of july! Mark

Hello to everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. I was wanting to hear your story on how you decided to to the lap band and how you like it months, years down the road..from how you herd about it til today! I am 27 yrs old 300lbs and have tried and tried to lose the lbs since high school. I have always been kinda big but never this big. I can stick to a diet for a little bit but then slip off of it. My wife is over weight too and we are both going to do the lap band surgery at the same time, looks like july 27th. I am really scared but know I really need to lose weight and the lap band will help me do that. My wife said to ask questions but I have ask til blue in the face and it seems like the best way to lose weight when you have been fighting it for so long. Thanks Mark

I am going to the doctor today to set up my appointment for the band at the same time with my wife. I hear lots of good things about the band but never here what people dont like about it? I am really scared cause I know its a life style change. Do you miss cetain food? I keep fighting for food! I keep telling my wife, but you cant eat this and you cant do that! and she keeps say, ya but those foods is what got you where you are today. I am having it done so I can be healthy in the future and I know being 295 isnt good on my heart... I just wondered what everyone's biggest complaint is? thanks Mark

I can see that being a problem, but thats the problem I have now, I stop too late. Like last night I was up til 11:30 saying why did I have cake and ice cream after that big meal. I just cant say NO! hope the band will train me to eat right size portions. I am glad to hear you can kinda eat what you want just small amounts cause I had emagined in my head I would have really watch every meal. Mark
