No problemo Oliverdog:) Fred is dr c's assistant... He assist wit the ops too so has medical training... Don't kno if he's a surgeon, but he does the follow up checks n fills. I didn't go with the package, but dr c got fred to send me the info just in case I wanted the deal. He'll keep u right Let us kno how u get on:)

Hi Contact dr chris via email, there is a small waiting list tho, so do it asap if u want a quick date... Do a search on europe surgery or ecfs.... He'll ask for ur medical history and let u kno if ur a suitable candidate ..... Just remember people who are overweight quite often have medical issues so that is taken into account... Theses issues tend to improve after banding... I'm just back a week and feel great with no regrets ... It's defo not the easy option, but if uv done ur research and think its for u, GO FOR IT:) Dr c was fab and the hospitals n staff excellent:) I would, without reservation recommend him. This site is excellent for askin any questions, regardles how small or embarrising the issue may feel.. There are new and experienced bandsters to brain pick and we're all a really decent bunch ( even if I do say so maself:) Good luck wit ur decision... Homecare, I hope u have a great hol.... hi Maysh1... Me n JackieM were banded on the Friday before you guys. I had exactly the same prob re the wind:bored: I'm now exactly a week past it and the problem is getting better, especially at night:rolleyes2: i can't really burp and haven't been able to since the op and im now thinking that this is gonna be wot life is like and its sumthin i'm gonna have to put up with:blink: However, i'd have this wind every hour if it means me now managing to lose weight.... hows the port pain? are you managing ok on the liquid? i can start on mushie food as from Monday, but i think i'm gonna do the full 2 weeks:mellow: coz after wot Dr C said, i'm just gonna be as safe as poss. :wub: it doesnt do any harm in the weight loss stakes either.... as from today, i've lost 9lbs since i was banded 7 days ago:thumbup: i know this is all Water, but i don't care....its a great boost. I know JackieM is doing just as well.:thumbup: JackieM, i hope you're still doing ok..it was fantastic to speak to you the other day....gave me a real boost:lol: let me know when u'r gettin u'r stitches out... x

Thanks Wishfull.... i really want to take it easy, but coz my hubby wasn't out with me, and he hasn't seen the stitches n stuff, he's having difficulty in empathising with me... i think, he thinks i'm putting it on...GRRRRR he has no idea.... i know i can cope, its not so bad, but i wanna heal properly... thank goodness for this site and you guys x

Hope you're doin ok and went to the Dr today and he's told me that i've defo got shingles....nightmare huh!! luvd meeting you too J...i think we were s'posed to meet up coz it defo made my time much easier I also want to say thanks at this point to all who gave me n Jackiem good luck wishes as it was nice to know that people were interested and cared :rolleyes2: my experience was excellent...hospital fab, nursing care fab, dr C and Fred lovely, post op - not as bad as i thought. once i got rid of the gas pain, it wasn't so bad, but got loads of gurgling goin on.. i don't appear to be struggling with the liquid diet and don't feel hungry yet, but i'm sure that'll come. to all the up and coming bandsters going out to Brussels, i went out myself and stayed in a different hotel to everyone else... I did ok, but would have loved to have stayed with my fellow patients or had a friend or partner, especially the first day post op as i was stiff and had nausea and dizziness from the G.A. I really loved the hotel i stayed in and it was very comfy and quiet and had air con which i sooooo needed. the cost was dearer than the basic package that ECFS offered, however, it was cheaper by about £300 - £400 than the deluxe package and i feel that i had a deluxe hotel. hope everyone is good and that Gary, you get on ok... am watchin with interest....

Hi ivesy2.. Am getn banded fri along wit jackie who I was able to get contact wit thru this site. Am sure I've read that there are people getn banded same day as u.. Will post as soon as I can after my banding n let u no my experience .... Good luck :ohmy: x

Wanna say a masseeef thankq to all the best wishes from everybody It's a srange feeling knowin that there are people out there goin thru the same humiliations n ordeals as myself :-/ but great to get the support from everybody. Me n Jackie are getting banded on Fri and am soooooo nervous but also excited... Will defo post to let all kno how it goes ... Am so thankfull for this forum n all who post.... Good times xx

yeah the cash :-( s'a hell of amount to be carrying about in a strange country :-S My hubby said he'd be more afraid of anyone trying to take that amount of cash from me :-) more likely to require surgical removal!! I didnt go through Fred, i did it all myself, but now wishing i had. didn't even think about taking milk thistle :-( ooooh i so hope my op can be done and my liver is ok.....have had the worst month in so many ways..... i hope i don't get sent packing :-( i'll listen out for an English accent, you listen out for a Scottish one....we're sure to meet up yowzer!!!! not long now x

Hi Jackie I'm getting banded by dr chris on the 7th too :biggrin: I'm coming from scotland but at least you should be able to understand me better than the locals!!! i'm very nervous and havent done brilliantly on the diet..a bit like yourself, all the last chance meals have been ridiculous :biggrin: it would be good to be able to meet on Fri... where are you booked to stay the night before? im at the Sheraton airport hotel. hope to hear from you

hi guys:biggrin: after a lot of hard thinkin and lots of research...ive decided to get banded... am really excited:w00t: but also a bit nervous as im gonna have to go all alone.:tongue: Dr Chris seems to be the man and i'm happy he's doing the procedure... anyone have any tips or little gems for me to help ease my nerves:unsure: Is anyone else getting banded on 7th of August.....i'm travelling from scotland on the 6th wooppee!!!!.....for me...life begins at 38:thumbup:
