Hi everyone, I was banded 1 yr ago by Robert Cable, so far my weightloss has been slow (but thats my own fault) i live in Auckland and have to drive to Tauranga for a fill...i was topped up last week so im starting to lose weight again YAY!!!!!!. Im enjoying reading other peoples journeys...and would love to "meet up" at coffee groups etc. Brenna

straight after my op i had alot of nausea and diahhrea it settled down after taking somac (acid blocker) i believe its because of my gallbladder removal and my body regulating the bile....so now every time i have a fill my body reacts with nausea and diahrrea it takes about a week to settle down after using somac.

I was banded 4 weeks ago and have had constant diarrhea & nausea my doctor tested me for clostridium difficile (c-diff) and giardia but both tests are neg and antibiotics havent worked...everything else is ok and i seem to have energy im just wondering if anyone else has suffered this?

I think i have tried everything it is now 5 weeks the reason i was tested for c-diff was because of the antibiotics but the tests were neg. i thought it was because of the "liquids" but im not on liquids anymore, my surgeon is baffled as he has never had this happen before...i think its because of my gall bladder removal with all the bile in my stomach it keeps bubbling up and causing problems im now on anti reflux tablets they are working but i think its hiding the problem as when they wear off im back to stage 1. thanks everyone for your help/concern.

ive got a thread in the complications forum but had no replys. with mine my stomach keeps churning (nausea) that is causing diarreah so im now on somec and immodiam... it has worked but im not sure if thats masking the problem or fixing it...im 4 weeks post op. i never had vomiting so cant comment on any damage done to your band.
