I read somewhere some advice someone said, that you should start trying out some of the food you will be eating that first week after surgery (and some of the mushies too). So maybe if you change it up and try some different types of liquids it may help give you some variety especially when family members are going for fast food. It will definitely help you for that first week so you don't feel like your only options are chicken broth or beef broth. Even trying out different flavors of the protein shakes may help.
