    Really Great Moment

Barbara, Yeah - I did have a "tightness" behind my boobs early out. Kind of felt between my boobs and ribs. I think it may have been muscular. Its gone now.

    Dry heaves

Midwest Girl - I'm so sorry you had a rough night. I would definitely go in to see your surgeon this morning. It could very well be all the swelling in your stomach - some people swell more than others. But for me, I would want to be checked out. Let us know how you're doing later.

    Really Great Moment

Exactly - kind of a crampy pain. Good description.
  5. I had a similar experience. Since I wasn't sharing my WLS with anyone, and was stuck in a business dinner, I just told everyone that my stomach hurt and thought it might not stay down if I ate (not far from the truth) and didn't feel like eating. It really wasn't a problem.

    Really Great Moment

Okay - here's my two cents on this. Early on I experieced exactly what most of your are describing - a rumble, an uncertainty for the next bite. I took that as my full sign. As my tummy healed, full is now very similar to what it was pre-op but I achieve it much faster and it is very finite. It's kind of like once I get "full", a lid closes on my stomach and nothing else is going in, no "last bite", nothing, zip, period. It's not unpleasant, I just get a strong signal from my stomach that my stomach is "now closed for the meal". If I push it, I usually will have stomach pain for 10-20 minutes. So I've learned that the additional bite of food better be darn good or else I'm not suffering. LOL:)

    Drinking Water

I drink a 16oz bottle of water in 15-20 minutes. I timed it the other day (about 18 minutes). I'm like Tiff and don't like really cold water (ice water), never have. I like my water cool but not cold. I'm not sure I could drink ice water that quickly.

    High blood presure

Lots of people that are of normal weight have High BP. Sometimes weight loss "fixes" your blood pressure, if the extra weight was the main cause for the elevated blood pressure. Sometimes it's just genetics. My BP goes up and down with my weight like many others, but again it is only one factor.
  12. At two weeks post-op, I could have made that trip. That's about the time I got my energy back and started feeling pretty good. You still might want to get up and walk around frequently.

    High blood presure

I didn't have high BP prior to my surgery (usually around 125/80) but after weight loss my BP has dropped to around 110/65.

    Monday Morning Weigh In

WTG Carolyn. Those are some impressive results. Congratulations and keep up the good work. :scared0:
  17. I had nearly the exact same experience, however, my friend was really supportive in the beginning but less so now. It's seems that my weight loss is a reminder to her that she is still overweight and not doing anything about it. It's gotten to the point, where I rarely mention my weight loss and neither does she. I don't think my friend is being negative "on purpose" or rather I hope not. But I think it is more on a subconscious level.
  18. It's super yummy Theresa. :thumbup::drool5:
  19. I just laughed because the Mahi Mahi was there - apparently a popular enough recipe that someone felt the need to add it to the database.
  20. Woo Woo!!! Yes the narcotic pain medications can slow things down to a near halt for some people.
  21. Okay - here is a link to a diagram of stomach stapling. Restriction operation for obesity
  22. Yes, it is different, but I don't remember how. I will have to look it up and get back to you.
  23. Tiffany - FYI - the Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi was on the Daily Plate- same recipe. I laughed. I woofed down 3 ounces of Mahi Mahi this evening with about 1/4 cup salad and about 6-7 sugar snap peas. I am so stuffed. I think I ate too fast - the fish was SOOOO yummy. My husband gave it two thumbs up too

    My FitDay Log for today

I track both my diet and exercise on The Daily Plate. I started back in June before surgery and have just kept doing it. I also like the iphone application, let's me update my "plate" while out and about. It's helped me be more accountable to myself for what I put in my mouth and shows me calories, fat, carbs, sugar, sodium, fiber & PROTEIN. There are lots of great websites that do the same thing - for me, its just tracking daily that is important.
