What part of Houston? I lived in The Woodlands for several years before being transferred to Dallas. A is hard. How about "Hot Summer Sleevers"?
-
I agree on the Twisted Cherry. It had a strong aftertaste. I wonder if I diluted it down and added a Crystal Light (flavor to be determined) if it would be any better. I really like the Roadside Lemonade, Fuzzy Navel & Caribbean Cooler (you must enjoy a Pina Colada or you won't like it).
-
Nectar Fuzzy Navel is even better with 24 ounces of water and a packet of Crystal Light morning sunrise flavor.

You are allergic to Codeine. Are you also allergic to hydrocodone (Vicodin/Lortab)? With a prescription there are several liquid hydrocodone products available.

10 lbs is AWESOME! I have been unofficially pre-op dieting (practicing) for almost a month. Lost 10 lb. Now granted, my doctor allows me to have real food during the pre-op diet and I have cheated a few times, but not many. Good luck and keep us updated when you can. -
Yep! I guess it's the August Guys and Girls. The more the merrier:thumbup1:

Your puppies are SOOOOOOO CUTE!!! I love labs. We have two yellow labs. They are sisters (litter mates). We couldn't decide between them so we got them both. For the record, not something I would recommend doing. It was our "pretest for children". If we could keep the puppies alive for a year, we would start having babies. Well....nine years later, we have a couple of wonderful sweet dogs and two little boys. For the record, puppies are much easier than children:laugh0: -
Congratulations on your date. Yay!!! Let us all know how it goes for you. I am excited to follow your progress.

I agree with Elisabeth, I would talk to your Dr. about alternatives to Protonix & Nexium. If you are allergic to one, you are possibly allergic to the entire class of proton pump inhibitors. An H2 Histamine Blocker would be your best best, Pepcid, Zantac & Tagamet. Pepcid AC does make a 20mg EasyChew over the counter. All of these can be found with a prescription on a $4 generic program. You might need to pay more to get the Chewable/Liquid at first, but once you can swallow a pill, I would switched to the generic RX to save some money. -
I asked my surgeon about just that. He said researchers have been able to block gherlin but it doesn't reduce hunger. So now they believe gherlin is more of a "marker" than a hormone/receptor interaction. The only way to reduce your hunger, is remove the part of the stomach that makes the gherlin. I have always dreamt of a "pill" that prevents one from getting hungry and helps the body burn fat with no side effects. As a pharmacist, I know better, but I can dream. :biggrin0: I guess I am back to the old physics of burning more calories than I consume. Bummer! :sad0:

Sounds Great! It's a plan. The August Girls!

Yeah! I'm glad you finally have a date to meet with your surgeon. Let us know how it goes. -
Tiffykins I tried the Caribbean Cooler today. You are right, tastes just like a Pina Colada, however, it's missing something. Oh yeah, RUM. Oh well, it is still really good. It's a toss up for me though for my favorite. Caribbean Cooler is really good, but I also really like the Fuzzy Navel. Good to have options.:tongue_smilie:

Yep. You can order the sampler pack from Syntrax directly. Call 1-866-333-7403 and select customer service (they close at 5pm cst). You can place an order for 10 different flavors of single serve samples for $9.99 (shipping included). It's a great way to try all 10 flavors for $1 a piece. There are so many flavors it is a bit overwhelming. You can order only one per person but can order for different people in the same household. My husband isn't interested but I think I will order a pack for "him" anyway. :001_tongue:

Someone from LBT posted this information a while back. I found it while surfing their threads. I called it last week and got 10 full serving packets (one of each flavor) for $9.99. Great way to see if you like it at all and which flavor(s) you prefer. The choices are a bit overwhelming. Also, it is one sample pack per person but you can order for different people in the same household. I have to agree with Tiffykins on the Crystal Sky flavor, not my favorite.

I tried both the nectar Fuzzy Navel (for Breakfast this morning) and the Nectar Sweets vanilla Bean Torte (for dessert this evening) and loved them both. The Fuzzy Navel is light and refreshing. I added 8 ounces water plus 6-7 ice cubes to make it not quite as sweet and really cold. I used 8 oz skim milk with the vanilla bean torte and about 6-7 ice cubes. Quite a treat. I had ordered the sampler pack from Syntrax directly. Call 1-866-333-7403 and ask for customer service (they close at 5pm cst). You can place an order for 10 different flavors of single serve samples for $9.99 (shipping included). :001_tongue:

I will second that!!

I can tell you all that the information I received here and on LapBandTalk helped influenced my decision. I found a lot of people who LOVE their band. I found, it seems, just as many who hated it (or struggled significantly with it) and didn't get the results they had hoped for. I was not willing to spend 10k on a surgery that may or may not be the one I want. It seemed like such a bigger gamble. People who started with the sleeve, almost every one loved it. People who started with the band and switched to the sleeve, love their sleeve. It appears to be exactly what I was wanting in a WLS.

pian what hurts and how much

My surgery is August 4th. I am only taking a week of vacation. I hope I am not overestimating my abilities. I have had two c-sections with very little problems (up walking around same day). I figured it can't be much worse than my doctor surgically removing a 10 lb baby from my abdomen.
