I live in Birmingham, AL so I had mine done here. It was a long journey but so worth it. I went to my first seminar in Oct. 07. Then my Surgeon visit in Nov. 07. My insurance requires a 6 mos supervised diet so I started that in Dec. 07. I got my approval in July 08. and I was banded in Sept. 08. About 11 mos from start to finish. It was well worth all the hoops that I had to jump through. Where are you on your journey? How far along?
