January surgeries?!
Abbey M. replied to jessicaalyssa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m feeling greasy. Not tired or anything. Just keep getting these gas bubble pains randomly in my diaphram. Anyone else? I had my surgery the 7th and don’t go back to work until the 22nd. -
I’m doing pretty good. Recovering well. Just having these gas bubble pains occasionally in my diaphragm. Annoying but not intolerable lol

Getting ready to have surgery on Monday. Excited but then have bouts of being SUPER scared and nervous! Wondering how it’s going to be and if I’m going to have regrets. I want to know I made the right decision. 😞 after 5 months of preparing, years of failed diets and regains, I made this decision. And I can’t help but feeing nervous and wondering if it was the right one. Anybody else feel that way?

Yep it wasn’t an issue :-) thanks everyone! -
You know what’s even weirder.....I put my abdominal compression garment on and it hasn’t happened since. Is this gas?
-
I’ve been walking but could probably do more. It’s just weird. If I feel it coming on and put my arms up over my head it stops it. Totally bizarre....
-
Will do. Thank you :-)
-
No. He said I did not have a hiatal hernia.
-
Yeah this isn’t even necessarily when drinking. I am getting it when just laying down on my side. It’s weird.

It’s going pretty good. The first three days were hard. I had some pain and nausea but today I finally am feeling a lot better. Been able to drink pretty easily and have had apt less pain and no nausea.

January surgeries?!

I did. I wore it for the first day or two but then found it hurt me more than helped :-) -
Thank you. Yeah I’m only 4 days post op and suddenly I’m just able to drink. I’m still taking it slowly but I’ve drank about 24ounces in 4.5-5 hours or so. I am tolerating it well and it doesn’t hurt. I just want to make sure I’m not going to effect my suture line or anything by drinking too much too quickly.

I feel like I’m forcing myself to drink and I’m so full. Uggg.....
-
That makes me feel better. I’m seriously struggling getting it in like that. It’s super annoying lol
-
It really is the worst. How are you doing on fluids? Are you able to get down the protein shakes and get 64oz of fluid in already? I’m struggling to get it all down.
-
Yeah I’m not hungry at all. Really just thirsty. I keep drinking water too fast then it hurts lol
-
My doctor didn’t prescribe pain medicine. Just Tylenol which honestly I’m fine with because pain meds make me super nauseous anyway.
-
I should say super sore on my big incision and in my lower back on the same side oddly enough.
-
Yeah it’s not so much pain just every time I drink anything I’m getting nauseous. The broth didn’t help either. :-(
-
Thank you! Yeah they gave me Zofran but I called the doctor and they just called in something else. Hopefully it works better. I feel pretty good if it wasn’t for this nausea. I’m trying warm broth now hoping that the temperature difference will help.

I had my surgery yesterday. Literally like zero except a pain right in my diaphragm. It’s not unbearable but painful enough it’s making me uncomfortable. Did you have this and how long did it last? It’s better since last night but still hurts.
-
I have my surgery on yesterday afternoon. Surgery went really well. I woke up and it was a little nauseous for a while but they’ve been really good about controlling and so I didn’t throw up at all. I’m literally having no pain except for one area which is that my diaphragm. There is an incision really close to it so I can’t tell if it’s the incision that is making an egg or if it is trapped gas from the surgery. Either way it’s going very smoothly and I’m feeling pretty good now that the anesthetic has worn off. I’ve been walking a lot which is good and it appears they’re going to discharge me in about 10 hours from now. So I’m pretty stoked. Just want this diaphragm pain to subside. The only reason I’m starting to think it’s from the incision right there is because it when I take Tylenol it feels slightly better.

Hi! Surgery went well. I was a little nauseous after but not a lot at all. I honest have like zero pain except for 1 spot which is my diaphragm. I have an incision very close to it so I’m not sure if it’s the incision that caused the pain or if it’s that trapped co2 gas. Either way it’s literally the only think achy. I was walking around an hour after surgery. I’m having no problem drinking water and eating popsicles haha. The anesthesia is finally starting to wear off so that’s good. Its not bad at all.....that damn diaphragm just needs to stop aching then it’s REALLY nothing haha

Hey Chris! So the surgery went good. The only pain I really have is not from my incisions but in my diaphragm area. I do have an incision right there so I don’t know if it hurts from that or trapped gas, but it’s literally the only thing that hurts. I’ve had no problem at al drinking water and eating popsicles. I feel good if it just wasn’t for that darn spot on my diaphragm :-/
