  1. :laugh:Good for you in starting a new running program. Wow.. I do not know if I could do that. As for what you are eating ;been there as well. But remember this LAP-BAND® is a tool; so you need to follow the rules to let it work right. Call your Dr.'s office and talk to them on what is going on. They may want you to have a fill sooner than later. Also, I am keeping a food diary again; it is helping me keep track on what I am eating and paying attention that I am getting my Water and Protein in everyday. I still have a Protein shake every day. Watch Bariatric TV. these two ladies are awesome and really have good advice and help me keep going on this wonderful journey.   2. Had my surgery on June 30th at CMC in Manchester NH, by Dr. Campbell. Would love to know how you are doing and what your experiances are. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow and I am feeling back to my old self. Feel like I have lost some weight will know tomrrow. Cece
  3. :thumbup:Hi all, Been real busy this past month in stepping up my excercise and really watching what I eat. I go for another fill on the 24th of this month. My weightloss is finally stepping up again by 2 pounds so far; and my clothes are starting to get lose again. Going to the Pre-Op meetings to see Post -Op friends and going to the Post -Op meetings are really helping. Trying new Protein shake recipes and recipes have helped too...LindaBefood website has some wonderful recipes that you all should try! Have a great day everyone.   4. Okay, did not have a fill last month because of Have a fill next week. Hope my weight starts going again, even though I have been losing inches my weight has stalled as for loss.   5. :cool2:Thank you guys for all your thoughts. I need to write down what I am eating and also watch my portion sizes. I have another fill the end of the month sooner if I think I need one. My doctor did not want to give me another fill last week because of the heart burn troubles I was having. Though I feel it is more because of my allergies and asthma that has kicked up. I feel better this weekend and need to watch my portion sizes because I can eat more than I should. Iam just talking one day at a time. And watching on how quiclkly I am eating. I tend to eat fast.   6. Hey everyone, been alwhile since I have talked just wondering how everyone is doing out there. I have lost 30lb.s since the surgery. But I feel I am losing steam. My weight keeps going up and down by 2 pounds. Need to get my head around this life style again. Excercise more and write down what I eat. Have a fill for next week. Just need some support.     unclear on exercising

    Good advice MustLooseIt, Take it slow and check with the doctor. I just had my first fill on Friday and it went well. But I msut say I could feel the fill as she put it into me. I can feel the fill more. I am eating less; but I have to be honest I still think about food at times because Of my love for cooking. I have a glass of tea or water instead or try to do alittle walking or working in the garden. My doctor just gave me the okay to do a white water trip in Mass. this weekend. I am excited about going. Hopefully this time I will not fall out like I did last year. I am trying to more trail hiking with my 11 year old also. Trying to find different ways to fit excecrsing in during the day. What are your favorite excecises to do during the day everyone?

  9. Happiness1, Don't get discourged. The weight well start coming off again. I really do believe our bodies have to keep readjusting themselves from with the new weight loss. Keep up with the excercises and keep a food diary! That will keep you honest with yourself. Listen to your body as well to when it is full. Are you taking Protein shakes still or protein Water? I have asked people in our post-op meeting and many take a proiten shake still everyday. Maybe that will help also. Keep up the good work and I will be thinking of you. urs9999 thats great! I can still eat alittle more than I like to but feel the fill better than before. Still get the munchies alittle and find I just drink more liquids, to keep my mind off of being hungry.   10. Had my fill Friday and could feel the fill going in. It was a weird feeling. Dr. Campbell put in 6.08 ounces in. Can tell I have more. Doing okay with it. Can not wait till I can have mushies on Tuesday. Have hit 20 pounds and my clothes are really starting to get looser.Been okayed to ride my motercyle, which is great. Also okayed to do my white water trip in Mass.this coming Friday. Life is good.

    How is everyone doing?

    Hi guys, I was banded June 30th and so far I have lost 18 pounds so far. I am having my first fill this Friday. I forgot to ask how much fill I have right now. I can say this I can eat right now almost anything but have to eat slowly and if it is a small piece of bread it has to be toasted really well to eat it. All you advice is really helpful . Thank You.   13. Thanks guys for the info. Hope since your fills things are going okay with you all. I have my fill next Friday and I have to say I am not worried so much about the needles and such. ( never has bothered me about needles) I am more worried about the after effects with the fill. ( I have to be on 2 days of liquids, 2 days of liquids and pudding, cream of rice and protein drinks and then 2 days of mushies again. I should lose some weight? My post-op meeting ( we have once a month post op meetings at CMC Catholic Medical Center ; which are a great help ) I had a friend that had to go back the next day and had lost 8 pounds in 24 hours because he could not keep anything down. He of course is fine now. And that of course is a worst scenerio. But you know it is the fear of the unknown. I am currently stuck at a 18 weight loss. I feel good and I am happy with the lost but need to concentrate less on the scale; more on health; and I guess and more on how I feel and such. Have a great weekend everyone!

    miserable help

    I agree call your doctor . I am 4 weeks out tomorrow and it does get better. I had the shoulder pain on and off for a week. Gas pain as well for several weeks. Like everyone said the first week is the roughest but it really does get better every day. Take it easy, rest, drink your fluids and take a pain relief it helps with the pain and also helps let your body relax and heal. My chest hurt to for several weeks too. But with the healing taking place it gets better as well. Ask your doctor if you can take different pain relief and or gas relief medications.     Band June 30th when to expect first fill?

    I was also banded June 30th. And I am on all real food this Tuesday.Nothing is off limits; and of course eating healthy foods and eating no more than a cup of food at each meal.     Treadmill VS Elliptical

  19. How's everyone doing? Some of you guys are having fills this week; are you excited? Scared? Ready?Anyone have kinda of have pains after eating of in the throat or chest area? It is like I can feel the lapband as weird as that sounds. Its sorta of painful but really only last for a second or two? I also notice this pain when I wake up from sleeping. I amssuming it is just healing that is going on in my body. Also, sorry alittle( tmi) but is anyone else find that you have more gas since the lapband. I have found since I have been eating real food; I am passing gas after I eat an hour or so . Its embarassing. Everyone good luck on your fills ; I am sure everything will go smoothly.     Your Welcome Rockstardiva; I am interested in trying yoga. I am looking for classes as we speak. That is great that you have a excercise buddy. I go to the gym alone but have plenty of people I know there; so I really do not feel alone. As for age I am middle aged and wish that I had the lapband when I was younger. Good for you for taking control of your health now before the health issues arise as you age and gain. I try to do some kind of excercise into my daily routine; even when I can not make to the gym. Parking the car far away from the store. Going up and down the stairs bring one item at a time. Slowly, but surely, I be healther and stronger and firmer for doing this for me.     Call your doctor and ask. Lap Band doctors all have different opinions on when to start. Remember it depends on the indivual how fit they were going into surgery on when they can start and what they can master. I have been walking and trail hiking slowly about 2 to 4 miles a day.I just started back at Planet fitness and started weight training no more than. 10 pounds and doing the stair master and elliptical..And doing some my stomach exercises; easy as my trainer saids.   22. Thank you. I am chewing and really trying to eat slow. Been reading the threads and realize we all lose differently and at different rates. I am following some advice and weighing once a week and using the measuring tape. Also starting to excercing. Which makes me feel better. We all will make it. Just take one day at a time.
  23. Today I had some tunafish and 2 crackers. It tasted sooooooooo... good. I find to stretch out my meal in the day that I get up and keep doing housework in order to make the meal last for 35 to 45 minutes. And I am really chewing. Question for you guys what does PB mean?   24. Hi, I am 3 weeks out today and I also had a hiatal hernia that was repaired. I also had chest pain on and off for about 2 weeks. It really does get better. Best thing you can do is walk each day to work out the gas pain that can last up to several weeks ( if your doc allows excercise ). Also I put the Protein powder and made Jello pudding with them. It reallly has helped getting the protein down. ( If your nutrionalist allows that on your diet ). The best thing I can say is listen to your body rest when it needs to; never hesitate to call your doctor for any reason; excercise slowly; and relax it will get better I promise.     First Fill Question

    I am waiting for my first fill which is 08/07/09. I was banded 06/30/09. My Dr. does fill the band when the surgery is done. Our CMC Obesity center found that when post -op patients came back in 2 weeks they were starving. So they founded by adding alittle fill that helped them. We have 5 diet phases we have to follow. Clear liquids before and after surgery and the day of the fill and after. 2 weeks of liquids puddings, cream of rice, for the 3 meals during the day and cream soups strained. Then 2 weeks of mushies. First week sweet potatoe mashed,oatmeal or grits, pureed chicken or fish, cottage cheese and so on. This week I get get soft chooped food. Our doctor believes you start slow and easy with the stomach so hopefully you will not have issues down the line. I agree with everyone else. Follow your doctors advice. Good Luck Monday!
