  1. Hi! I know there has been a couple of threads on this topic before. I'm scared to death about having excess skin! I know that might sound bad, but I am! I lost 70-80 lbs before and didn't have a problem. Right now I'm at 300 lbs and want to get my weight down to about 170. I'm only 23 so I'm hoping age will be on my side! I called my insurance company and they said they will remove excess skin BUT you have to know the code the surgeon will use to see if that code is covered! Don't you love that!
  2. Hello! I'm in the process of deciding what Barbaric Surgery is right for me. I thought that I wanted to get the Lap Band but after meeting with my surgeon I'm unsure. I weigh 300 lbs and I'm 5'7 tall. My surgeon told me that some people who get the Lap Band surgery may only loose 20-30 pounds! Is there anyone who was 300 lbs and has lot the 100+ pounds on the Lap Band? Thanks!

    Fruit?

For those of you who had the sleeve can you still eat fruit? I understand when you get the sleeve you can get "dumping syndrome" from eating sugar. But does that mean natural sugar?

  5. Well guys, I guess we really won't have an answer until after the weight is gone! :bored: So I guess we should just hope for the best!

  7. Thanks so much for the reply! Congratulations on your weight loss, that's wonderful! I'm really sorry that you have had so much trouble with the band. I wish you the best of luck with the sleeve or the other operation! :bored:
  8. Congratulations on your weight loss! That's super! I'm from Michigan and was going through the list of doctor's. I might be relocating that way so thank you much for the info!
  9. Wow congratulations to your niece! I have to remind myself that if I do get the sleeve there is no going back! I think that scares my family more than it does me! I wish you all best with your surgery!
  10. Hi! I wish you all the luck with the band! I've still have to come to terms with what surgery is best for me.
  11. Congrats on your weight loss! I'm really glad the band as worked out well for you! I'm keeping all my options open
  12. Thank you for your reply! I wish you the best of luck!
  13. Hi! Thank you very much for your reply! When I heard about the Lap Band I was sure it was the right surgery for me. Then when I visited the surgeon I decided I better weigh all the options. I'm very sorry you had to go through two weight loss surgeries, but I'm thankful that you shared your story with me. My surgeon said that people with higher BMI's do better with the Sleeve. Right now I'm leaning more towards the sleeve than the band. I'm still "thinking" though. I really want to make sure I do the right thing! I wish you all the best! Thanks again!
