I miss donuts. They seem to be the only bread product that gets stuck, no matter how well I chew.

I had kind of hit a wall with losing weight. I was doing great right after my surgery, then I became unexpectedy pregnant. As you can imagine, this pushed losing weight off the table. I got fills after my daughter was born, but found that I had lost some of my momentum. I found a free app for the iPhone called "MyFitnessPal" (it's also a website!) It helps me track what I'm eating so I can get a better idea and make the band work for me! It also lets you input your workouts. It's very satisfying to fill it out every day and know I'm on the right path. After using this app, my weight started moving in the right direction again!! Just though I'd share, in case anyone else was struggling!

I went for a fill last Thursday and was able to drink liquids fine. Friday, I was extremely tight and eventually could keep nothing down. Saturday I called my doctor and .5 was taken out. They told me to go ahead and eat normal food. All day Saturday, Sunday and Monday I was fine and could eat solids without issue (provided I chewed well.) Yesterday I started to get tight again. I could keep down fluids, but no solids. This morning I could keep nothing down. I went back to my doctor, prepared for another small unfill. They made me do a standing barium swallow. I could see that it passed through my band without issue. They gave me some antacid samples and sent me on my way. I have not been able to keep anything down all day. One sip of Water causes excruciating pain in my chest and I can only keep it down by gritting my teeth and WILLING it to stay down (and that doesn't always work.) The pain stays until it comes up or about 2 hours pass. Any ideas? Anybody have this happen before? Sorry the post is so long.

My fill last Thursday was 1.5. I called my doctor and went in tonight at .6 was removed. So far, all is well. Water has never tasted so good!! Thanks for the suggestions.

Nausea...did you un-fill?
AggiePaige replied to blueonetoo's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I was throwing up so frequently, I got a complete unfill. I have gained some weight, but nothing terrible. 58 days and counting until my due date... -
Told to wait 2 years after band before getting pregnant
AggiePaige replied to Kristy29's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Hey, sometimes life just happens! I was banded end of June 2009. We weren't trying to have a baby, we were going to wait, but that didn't stop our baby from happening! I found out I was pregnant in early November and am 31 weeks along now. I would have a frank discussion with your doctor. We are not in total control of our bodies. Unless you plan on abstaining for 2 years, you can't guarantee you won't get pregnant. -
Wow, I paid a whole lot of money to lose 33 pounds....I just found out I'm pregnant! Anyone else been through this?

Stupid question regarding "one cup of food"

Not to gross anyone out, but when we are talking about eating 1/2 -1 cup of food, are we talking pre or post chewed? -

Thanks for all the responses!! Kelly~V, I am back in the Dallas area now. -
Howdy all! My clothes are getting bigger and I am definitely losing inches. However, when I weigh, my scale is all over the place. Has this happened to anyone else?

Head Hunger getting me down...
AggiePaige replied to Celestial's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink a cold bottle of water (sometimes flavored) when I feel that head hunger. It doesn't always work, but it does most of the time. -

The Wii Fit ROCKS!!!! It is so much fun and you don't realize how hard you are working until you stop and realize you're drenched with sweat, or the next day and you are sore! I am so glad I got it!

Does anyone use more than one doctor for a fill?
AggiePaige posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I called to make an appointment for my second fill and my doctor can't get me in until Sept. 14th. I thought about looking for another fill doctor. Any thoughts? -
I had this problem after my surgery. Be sure to check with your doctor. Mine recommended I take Milk of Magnesia. It is gag-tastic, but it worked!

Flouro shows restriction and they won't give me fill-BUT I'm Starving!!!please help!
AggiePaige replied to Just Banded's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon is Dr. Jay in Dallas. He told me if I stop losing 2-3 lbs in a week, to come in for another fill. -
I tried on a pair of jeans that I haven't been able to wear in a while...not only did they fit, but they were actually a little loose!!!

Lots of people at my church are doing it and they LOVE it. They have seen amazing results in a short time and the routine is so varied, it's difficult to get bored.

Howdy! I'm in Garland. Dr. Jay did my surgery at the Prestonwood Surgery Center in Plano. Good to see so many folks in the area.

Howdy! I was banded 06/25/09 by Dr. Jayaseelan (went through TLC Edge in Plano). I'm looking for some band buddies. Send me a message and let's support each other!

when did you see a skinnier person in the mirror?
AggiePaige replied to ReadyOrNot's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't lost that much at all, but I can tell my face is thinner. Also, my coworkers are telling my my clothes are too big. It's nice to hear! -
The incisions!!!! Okay, the gas pain in the shoulder was terrible, but was inconstant. For me, the incisions were the worst. It was a constant merry-go-round of ice packs. Also, prior to surgery, I slept on my tummy. So, I've had a hard time sleeping on my back. But I'm down about 12 lbs already and I feel FABULOUS!:rolleyes2:

I am one week post op. Everything has been going great and I am down 16.6. YEAH!! However, I have dry mouth, a coated tongue and am REALLY thirsty all the time. Has anyone else had this? It doesn't seem to matter how much I brush or drink Water.

Dry mouth and really THIRSTY!!

Thanks for the suggestion! Coated tongue is gone! -
Protein foods...
AggiePaige replied to TeganRheana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Another good source of Protein, if you're having a hard time getting it in, are the Isopure drinks. They come in fruit flavors. One bottle has 160 calories and 40 grams of protein. Regarding the question of the bowel movement, my surgeon said I was to have one every day, regardless. My husband made me drink Milk of Magnesia (ICK!) until I had one.
