  4. Hi Jessica, Welcome to Washington! I grew up over in eastern Washington in Kennewick! I actually had my surgery here in Seattle, but I have read of people who have had surgery at Kennewick General (in Kennewick) and Kadlec (in Richland). Both of these are only about 45 minutes from Walla Walla. Sorry I can't give any recommendations for doctors, but hopefully this will help your search a little bit. -Alexis
  5. I was banded on 5/28/09. I lost 18 pounds in between surgery and my first fill on 6/29/09. Since then, I've lost ONE pound. I too am frustrated, but I know things will start moving along soon. I've been stuck between the same 3-4 pounds for 4 weeks now. I know there are some things I could be doing better especially with food and I need to get more Protein in. I think we just expect so much right away that we get upset when we don't see those numbers just pouring off the scale. I just have to remind myself of the overall picture and some of things that have changed in my life since making the decision to get the band. Just focus on some of the changes that you have made and look at your non-scale victories. I've heard it can take quite a few fills until some good restriction comes and then the 1-2 pound/week weight loss starts to kick in. The Swenson Family
  6. Thanks! I really needed the reassurance. I'm at the point where you just about start to go crazy cause weight loss is slow and you aren't eating anything! And trust me, I'm the queen of TMI sometimes, so nothing bothers me!
  7. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks post op and have slowly started introducing soft foods back into my diet the past few days. Is it normal to actually gain weight during this period? I've gained 3 pounds in about 4 days since introducing more food. Does this eventually even out? Just want to hear from others who may have experienced this. I was doing so well with the weight loss (43 pounds in 2 months) but it has completly stopped now. I admit I could be walking more and definetly drinking more water.
  8. I was banded on 5/28/09 and have lost 12 pounds since surgery. 10 pounds of that was after the first week and this week I've only lost 2 pounds. I'm still on liquids for 3 more weeks and then can move on to soft foods. I do have a hard time getting all my Water in for the day and can sometimes only get in one Protein shake. I just want to know if a slowed weight loss is normal at this stage? I feel like I should be losing more, but maybe I'm expecting too much? Any insight and/or tips would be greatly appreciated since I'm so new to this! :ihih: Thanks!
