I am so happy you have lost 37lbs:thumbup: !!! The doctors office probably wrote your weight wrong believe me I have worked for physicians for over 20 yrs it happens. How much saline did the give you at your last fill? What are you up to now? I got my second fill 2 weeks ago and still have not lost a thing infact I am up a pound go figure? This last time i went he only gave me 1cc a total of 6cc. I can tell the difference when I eat talk about restriction. So far I have lost a total of 48 lbs since July 1st. I have not been able to excercise since I just started school (LVN). This year is a year for change. Do something you have always wanted to do. Keep in touch with me and let me know how you are doing. Your right no one is really talking out there! Keep up the great work and think positive about your weight. I am so happy for you. Once you have the procedure done, you will be so glad you did it. Are you planning on coming to San Antonio a couple of days before your procedure? Make sure someone will be with you the whole time. Dr. Rincon had me on a strick diet 2 weeks before my procedure because they want the fat to shrink from the liver, it makes the lap band easier to install. All I wanted to eat before I had it done was chinesse food but no one would go with me because they knew I was not supose to eat it. :{ Its not so bad now, you can still enjoy your food, you just dont eat much of it. I got filled 2 weeks ago and I can really feel the restrictions. I am up to 6cc of saline and I really dont think I will get another one done for a while. If you do decide to do some sight seening come down at least four days before your procedure. Believe me you wont want to go out afterwards. Call me we can do lunch or dinner before your surgery, theres nothing better than Mexican food as your last meal before your your new life starts!! As for hotels I would probably stay downtown, its not to far from the hospital, are you having it as SW General? I believe there is another hospital he does surgery at. I had it at this one and had the best care. Just remember if you use a C-pap machine BRING IT! They wont do the surgery if you dont have it. Hey sluggo, I love Dr Rincon!! His office staff is wonderful and very helpful. October 1st will be 3 months since my surgery and I am down 48 lbs. He is very honest when it comes to fills and he explains everything as he is doing it. If you do decide to go with him I know you will be in good hands.

Don't feel like your by yourself. I had my surgery July 1st. I started off at 330 and now I am down to 294. Dr Rincon was wonderful! He was very caring and honest. I could not have asked for a better doctor. When is your surgery scheduled? Feel free to talk with me any time. No one knows what its like until they have walked in our shoes. Roxann

Kathy I am excited for you!! I have lost 40 so far. I made another appt with my surgeon to be filled again on Sept 14. My last fill he only placed 5cc. I still feel I can eat quite a bit. Dont get me wrong I still have the full sensation but not like I want it. I have had no problems and I feel great! "Continue doing great and stay positive!

Don't be so hard on your self! I always have to remind myself its also a tool. I think you are doing an amazing job! Try to think positive, remember we did not put on the weight over night so its going to take a while for it to come off. Its hard when people are always offering me food at work, but I have learned to first think and then reply with " no thank you" this is my new phase !! It works I started off at 330 and I now am at 292 as of this am. I'm here for you and I know its very hard. Keep a journal with photos so you can look at them. I have my husband take on every month. Remember take the time to be thankful for the pair of shorts that did not fit before.

I am so excited for you!! I got my first fill on 8/10/09 and he placed 5cc and I'm doing great! I'm on my 3rd day of liquids and I'm down 38 lbs:} He did use the fluro on me, thought it was really cool to see my band and port. He has placed 8cc at first but OMG I thought I was going to vomit. I also go back in 1 month for another fill. I broke down and bought the Richard Simmons dvd and notcied more weight loss after using them. You may want to try something different. Keep up the great work I'm really pround of you!!!!

I am so happy for you! I am scheduled for a fill on August 10 and I cant wait! I still fill full, but I am eating regular food just small amounts. I'm not having any pain just around the port site and I don't know if this is normal? I have not had any nausea but am super constipated :{ oh well. I have lost a total of 28 pounds but nothing more. I am stuck but my surgeon said this was normal. He said once I get my fill I should start loosing weight again. Keep up the great work!:thumbup:

Hi, I was banded July 1st and am doing very well. My doctor has me on clear liquids for 1 wk then protein shakes with clear liquids for 1 week then finally the 3rd week I can have pureed food. I'm not going to lie it has not been easy but remain strong. He did not fill my band that will come in 1 month. One thing that helps me is I am drinking the broth of caldo de rez ( mexican beef soup) I dont know where you live but if you are able to have some one bring you some im sure it will satisfy you. I scheduled my appointment with Dr. Rincon in San Antonio yesterday for June 22. I'm scared but excited at the same time. I should haven my surgery sometime in July if all goes well. I'm glad i have the support of my husband. I don't think I could do this with out him.
