Big Papa,the easy way out? These people are obviously clueless as to what we have all gone through. They have no idea this is WAY harder and I think takes WAYmore self control!! Hold your head high cause we all know better than that!!! Then look into there eyes green with envy and laugh!!!! LOL!!!

Hi all! I hope this is an ok question to ask, because my husband is asking how long he will have to wait. I will say, he did ask my DR. and Dr. said, the same night! I find this VERY hard to believe and am not sure if my DR. was messing around with him or not. So, if it is ok, I was just wondering how long it was before you were feeling up to it? No details, lol!!! Just how long after surgery did you wait?? My band date is 6-17-09!:w00t:

I am almost embarrassed to type this. I am a slave to the scale. I do weigh myself every morning 1st thing after potty, before drinking breakfast! LOL!!! But, I also, weigh myself EVERY time I go into the bathroom where the scale is. And I mean EVERY time. Why I do this, I don't know, but I do know I am addicted to the scale.

I also got my date. It is June 17th! I just found out on the 1st that my insurance approved it and scheduled my date on the 3rd. It seemed like a really quick turnaround. Probable becuae I was on the phone with the Dr.s office allthe time! LOL!!! I have my preop appt on 6/9 and asssume that is when I will start my preop liquid diet :blushing:... I am starting to get nervous, but have found the info on this site VERY helpful! I hope there is not a lot of tests to get done, cause I fear I may run out of time!

I doubt my PCP wrote a letter. I went to her and told her I wanted to see a dr regarding the lapband and she said what is that?!?! A little scary if you ask me! Anyway, she just had to submit a referral for me to see my lapband dr. I should mention ALL of doctors are off post. Also, the first Dr. Tricare referred me to did not offer lapband, only bypass, so make sure before you waste your time that the Dr. Tricare refers you to does lapband. Once I started seeing the lapband Dr., all referrals came from him. Except sleep apnea. I did have to go back to my PCP for that. She was rather difficult, but she reluctantly gave me the referral. And now, here I am with a surgery date of 6/17! YEAH!!!

I am using Tricare and I just got my approval on Monday! My surgery is scheduled for 6-19-09. 2 weeks!!! I did not have to have 6 months weigh ins. I did have to have something coexisting with my BMI of 39.9. I have sleep apnea and once that was proven, my approval came within 5 days. I started visiting the lapband Dr. in January. They did not put the request for the approval in until after I visited with a nutritionist, psychologist, and attended their seminar and support group. Then they talked to Tricare and learned that I needed the proof of sleep apnea, so they did not request authorization until after they received proof. I hope this helps!
