  1. I'm still here! And I am in the same boat. Slow going but not gaining! I must admit that I have not been putting in the effort that I should. The holiday's screwed me up and I've had a very hard time getting back on track. My eating is getting better (had a fill 2 weeks ago and am very tight) but still struggling with the exercising thing. Good to hear from you. Hopefully others will check in too!

    Blessings,

    Sarah

  2. Sandie - I am at 4.5 cc. Doc said that this should be all I need unless when I lose weight the band gets loose.

Jenn - I don't keep track of my calories. I know lots of people do but I never wanted to do that before my surgery and I certainly didn't want to do it after...LOL....too lazy I guess. Yesterday for B'fast I had a cup of coffee and a scrambled egg with cheese (takes me a little while to eat the egg now....gets stuck easier). For lunch I had homemade cheesey potatoe Soup with (probably too many) crackers and a SF Jello pudding cup. Last night for dinner I had 2 pieces of thin crust pizza (with Bacon, Sausage and Mushrooms). Still struggling with getting all of my liquids in but I am certainly drinking more than I did pre-surgery! BTW - You look awesome!

  3. 31.2 pounds down to be exact! I think I'm quite possibly at my SWEET SPOT! I have some major restriction going on! Sorry I havent' been around much lately. I have been popping on to check up on everyone but haven't taken the time to post lately! Looks like everyone is doing well! YEAH August bandsters!

    Blessings,

    Sarah

  4. My surgery date was August 4th. I've lost between 23 and 26 pounds (depends on what day I weigh). I'm happy with my decision to get the band. I've had one fill and am in the process of getting another one scheduled (have to talk to the nutritionist first, waiting to hear back from her).

The past week has been rather difficult for me. I am hungry alot and I have head hunger that I have not been able to overcome. I was so strong right after surgery, now I feel like I'm back to my "old self". I exercise 4-5 times a week. I should probably do better on that but that's so much better than NEVER excercising.....which was how often I did it before surgery!

  5. Today was my appointment for my first fill. I had to go to the hospital since doc wanted to the fill under x-ray. It was so quick! I was a little nervous though because the x-ray technician told me that the doc doesn't give numbing shots anymore (why get 2 sticks when really only one is needed). I'm not a fan of needles at all so I was concerned. But it wasn't as bad as I feared. He pressed on my stomach and found the port then said, "You're going to feel a little stick"....well, YES I did....it was uncomfortable but not terrible. He put 2 cc's of saline in then they stood the table up and with the x-ray he watched me swallow about a teaspoon of Fluid (nasty tasting stuff....don't know what it was called). I was able to watch on the screen and see the Fluid pass through my esophagus, through my band and immediately dump into my stomach. He said, "Yeah, that's too fast. Let's try 3 cc's". So he put in an additional cc of saline. Again I took a drink off the YUCK stuff and saw that it went down a little slower. He said, "That's perfect" and I was done.

He wants me to be on full liquids (mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, Soups, etc.) for two days then back to eating normal. Rick was working in Indy today, this is a rarity, so he was able to meet me for lunch at Cracker Barrell. I ate mashed potatoes and gravy. YYUUUUMMMMYY! It was good but unfortunately I was hungry after 2-3 hours. I ate a sugar free pudding cup when I got home, hoping to keep the hunger at bay until dinner. Didn't work too well! I made homemade Cheesy Cream of Broccoli & Potato Soup. I put a few crackers in it. It was good but I'm H-U-N-G-R-Y!!!! Hopefully when I am back on solid food I will be able to eat less food but stay full longer. We'll see!

Oh, by the way....I kicked butt on the treadmill last night. I walked for 20-25 minutes and I would walk really fast for 3-4 minutes getting my heart rate up then slow down for a couple of minutes and speed up again. It was quite a work out for me but I felt good when I was done!

  6. I'm right there with ya! I have NO RESTRICTION! I am hungry most of the time. Supposed to be doing three 2 oz. meals/day. Emailed my dietician and she says to now do six 2 oz. meals. Wish I could just do 4 oz meals three x's a day! Next week is my 1st post op and hopefully the doc will schedule me for my first fill! Good to know that I am not the only one in Bandster Hell!

BTW - I originally lost 18 pounds the first 2 weeks post op. I've put 3 back on but am holding steady now.

  7. I had severe endometriosis. I had 2 laperotomies, each time the dr. took down massive amounts of adhesions and tried to repair my damaged fallopian tubes. Before my first surgery I had major bowel difficulty because the endometriosis had tangled around my bowels and caused a blockage. I had a hysterectomy when I was 29 and felt better in the recovery room than I had in years! Good luck to you!

  8. All I have to say is I am SO GLAD I didn't read this post BEFORE my surgery! LOL

I have had multiple surgeries in years past so I did know that I would be going commando! But I must agree.....with the GOOD drugs they give ya, who cares!:) However, my dear hubby is reading over my shoulder and does not like the idea that the dr. was standing between my legs doing the procedure.
