Too much restriction - ???
I'm still here replied to I'm still here's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Laura ~ I wonder if we were there at the same time on January 12th ??? That was also my surgery date with the wonderful Dr. Spivak . . . Did you have your surgery at Park Plaza ? I decided to 'ride this out' and it seems to be getting better. I must be really hard-headed and have realized that I have been fighting the band. The reality now is that I CAN'T eat anything early in the day and if I don't try to, it's not an issue. Duh - huh? :rolleyes I can eat a small amount in the evening and I am not starving. That is the beautiful thing about this - I am really never hungry, I just eat out of habit. Thanks everyone for your responses - it really helps me to hear what other bandsters have to say. -

I found your thread and will be watching it closely . . . This 'Spivak-er' is routing for you too !!! -
Hello ~ I was banded on 1-12-07 and have 2.2ccs in my 4cc band. I have lost about 40-45 pounds and would really like to lose about 20 more. I am trying desperately to decide if I need a fill or not . . . I will have days where I can barely get anything down, but lately - have been eating what I suspect is way too much food. I am really curious if there is any way someone at their 'sweet spot' could eat 8 chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A and a side of cole slaw in one sitting ??? Now, please understand that I don't eat like that all the time (and am not always able to) - but did today and am now feeling like maybe it IS time for a fill. Any input will be greatly appreciated ~ Thanks, Lynn

Could you eat this much in one sitting ???

Wasa - if this is what you are referring to, the passive aggressive tone was actually in the post before this one. Let's all support each other . . . this isn't easy! -

mbanja - I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better! I was really worried about you. Thank you for your support regarding my original question . . . I really appreciate my fellow-bandsters who choose to support each other rather than be rude. We are all in this for the long haul and I personally don't think eating the rare chicken nugget or candy bar is going to send us to bandster hell. I will say I never expected my question to spiral downward like it did - I have just been trying to decide if I needed another fill and thought that would be a good example that someone could respond to. My mother always said 'there's one in every crowd' and I think that saying applies to most situations, Lap Band Talk included. I have no desire to try to make someone feel bad about their choices because that is not my personality or my job. I get on here for information, support and friendships and in turn will do my best to provide those same things to others. That's all - I am not going to spend today defending myself to those who feel compelled to write something rude about all of this and I challenge you not to either. It's not worth it, they won't listen anyway because most of them are 'always right', and besides . . . life's too short for that. Go out and enjoy your day! Lynn -

Wasa - You are correct about opinions and certainly have a right to yours (as does everyone else), but when it is not asked for and is given in a condescending tone, I think those giving theirs should expect people to react to it. I once heard - "Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one but you don't have to go around showing it!" Just some food for thought! -

mbanja ~ OhMyGoodness! I just read your post again and thought for sure I read it wrong! Bless your heart! I canNOT imagine trying to unfill myself!!! I am squirming in my chair just thinking about it! I hope you are feeling 100 % better now! Thanks for your advice. Best of luck to you, Lynn -
Ha - yep that's me!!! No, I won't be there tonight - my daughter has volleyball. Let me know how the meeting goes . . . I'm sorry I'll miss it.

My bad then . . . the tone of your previous posts on this thread really sounded (to me) like you thought you did. I know I sure don't and everyday is a new day with my little tool. Some good, some bad - but the prize at the end will be worth it. -

I was the original poster on this thread and I am sorry you seemed to have misunderstood the question. It was a QUESTION and not an OPINION that I was asking for. Pretty much yes or no, can you eat this much in one sitting? I am not sure how you misunderstood that, but apparently you did. Because of the good information I was given, I have decided that I do need a fill and have scheduled that. This board is great when people help each other out. Thanks again to those of you who shared your expertise. -

It is human nature for most to become defensive when they feel they are being talked down to. -
I was sitting in the front too . . . very near you! I was the one with the issue with the drains - ha! :nervous I will be anxious to hear how your consult goes - I will probably meet with Dr. Heller too . . . Wanda looks amazing!

It always puzzles me when a person asks a question seeking information and is responded to like this . . . Do you honestly think I don't know the grilled chicken would have been a better option? Did you see the statement that I don't ALWAYS eat like this? My question was intended for people who would provide me with good information, as everyone else did. Good for you Bird that you've got it all figured out. Thanks everyone else for the information. Lynn -

Thanks for responding Laura ~ I'd say the cole slaw was about 1/2 cup, so maybe the total was about 1 cup - ??? It still seems like too much . . . -
Enterprise01 - Were you at the meeting last Tuesday evening at Dr. Spivak's office? I was and am curious if you are seeing Dr. Long for your consult. I am really starting to think alot about scheduling my consultation. Please update us after you see the PS. Thanks,
