rollercoasters!!! i cried a couple yrs ago when we went down to branson, and after waiting 20 min in line i had to get off the coaster cuz i didnt fit.:cry

i am getting ready to head to my first post op visit. still lots of gas, and some pain in the port area. had some cream of chicken soup this morning. currently at 319, loss of 24 lbs since surgery...mostly water.

my wife has Miss Kitty, and sometimetimes Mr Happy is not happy.Hopefully now that i am banded, he will be Mr Happier ! and my wife named them both

i personally say "dick" mostly, or "Mr. Happy"

i have had reflux for years....don't eat anything if you plan to lie down within an hour, especially dairy.

we have the kind they used to have at dr's offices...with the sliding weights. think it came from jc penney a long time ago...not sure, as i married into it.

Molly, you should graduate to small BMs soon. i was banded the 9th also. i'm mostly still on broth and flavored water, have had yogurt and jello a feww times, but the yogurt taste funny, but never used to. I ad A1 to the beef broth to make it more flavorful, and it makes a huge difference. tomorrow is my first post-op appt. i have lost about 21 lbs since surgery day. i think tomorrow i will have some cream soup.

As a fellow niner, i am doing well. still on liquids,mostly broth,gatorade, water, jello, and a little yogurt.maybe later today i will try some cream of chicken soup. Pain good, a little at the port site, not much more. Gas-x strips helped. a little congested, tho. i was 243 on surgery day, and today 219. mostly water i think. actually went up 2 lb since yesterday. i hope everyone else is doing well, too.

only preop diet i did was clear liquids day before. went to Burger King the day before that...last chance!

Va'JJ was used on last season of Gray's Anatomy by Dr Bailey when she was having an exam prior to giving birth and someone walked in. also check va jay jay on urbandictionary.com!

i testify to the effectiveness of pineapple...bought a couple 6packs so i'll have it on hand. flavor tip...add A1 to your beef broth...mmmm

and to make beef broth soup taste much better, add a few drops of A1 to the soup...mmmm...yummy...for broth,anyway. makes it taste like actual steak juice!

i've discovered that if you add a few drops of A1 to your beef broth it greatly improves it!

apology accepted...yeah, i know it was dumb. glad the pineapple juice worked. i am surprised how different dr have such radically different post-op diets. mine was 2 days clear liquid, days 3-7 full liquids, then 2 weeks mushies. i think it will be much longer before i move past liquids. i am grateful for all the advice here. very helpful

it can be pretty hard resisting temptation while you feed your 2 year old, not to have just a teensy bite. I am NOT the guy who had his mpm go to mcd's for a cheeseburger and ate the whole thing.

i was not being dramatic, nor was i being a baby. i merely admitted i had made the mistake of eating a peice of ghopped ham the size of a peanut. I ADMITTED it was dumb. And I was only posting that on a thread by someone else who had made the same mistake and was seeking help. i was being grateful i was not the only one who had made a mistake. And i don't need any condescension from you or anyone else. I'm sure you are not Miss Perfect, or else you wouldn't need to be banded, nor would you need to be here. Come to think of it, if you WERE Miss Perfect, you wouldn't even exist, because the only one who is Perfect is Jesus Christ.

yeah...got that part...i had an error in judgement...and as i said, learned my lesson.

i just sent my wife to get me some pineapple juice...i am newly banded, and on my 2nd day after surgery ate a small ham cube the size of a peanut,chewed it up real good, and i think it must be stuck cuz i haven't been able to keep any other liquids down since. i definately will not try even the smallest peice of real food for a while, tho my dr's instructions say mushies after day 7. nope...learned my lesson. On the plus size, er i mean positive side, i have lost 21 lbs, mostly water weight, mostly from my feet, in 4 days!

boy, do i have gas pains, too! and i didnt even think about using gas-x or something...i think i'll ask my wife to go get me some. i was banded fri 11/9 and can barely have a few sips of water, and had a little yogurt today and 3 spoons of jello. mostly dont feel hungry, feels like a baloon is in my chest.
