  1. Hi Sandra, I've been having the same pain that you said for a while but it goes for a while and come back later, sometimes when I workout is worse but is not there every time, by the way my stomach is not swollen.

I dont really know what could be and even the doc doesnt know, He keeps telling me that is because Im working out too much witch is wrong, sometimes I dont even workout and feel the pain, really strange let me know what they'll tell you please.

Sorry my English is not my main language.

Good Luck and take care, Keep in touch ok.

  2. Hi, Mark something similar happend to me with my 4rd fill after 2 weeks i couldnt really eat anything besides liquids for almost 4 days then i was able to eat again but with much restriction than before the fill, the "spitting up" happend often and i even had to "throw up" a couple of times only. I got 5.0ccs right now in my band. I've been feeling weak and tired sometimes, I've lost 11lbs in 6 weeks since my last fill. I may gonna stay like this for a while, I dont really know if i should get another fill even 1/4 cc. I missed my last appointment. I felt a lot better since last week but with a good restriction as i told you. Im going to see my doc this friday.

    Banded August 17/2009. Good Luck.

  3. Hi, I had my surgery the same day as you, are you counting the pre-op diet as well in the 43lbs? or not.

How may fills had you get and how many cc's they put on your band, please let me know.

The reason why i ask you so many things is because i hasn't lose that much, pre-op diet 15lbs, 3 weeks after surgery 15lbs and then about 4lbs in the last month, wich makes arround 34 lbs lost counting the pre-op diet.

I dont know why it's been so slow the last month, just get 1st fill 10/02 - 3 cc's. I dont really feel any restiction at all, I'm eating the same l was eating before the fill.

I've been working out already for a month 1 1/2 hrs a day, 4 times a week. So that's why I'm upset, I'm eating a little and working out hard and haven't seen much difference in the last month.

Tell me how you do it????? lol

  4. Hi, in my case i lost 15 lbs in the first 3 weeks and then i got stuck with the same weight for another 3 weeks almost when i have to get my first fill.

About the 20's to 30's lbs that many people refer it is counting the pre op diet i lost another 16 in my pre op diet, but not everybody counts that.

My Doc told me usually people even gain a few lbs beteween the 3rd and 6th weeks that's called "hellbandster" between us, hopefully the fill is coming and that's another history.

Good Luck you are doing it fine, just be patience.

  5. Hi, My doc told me a year ago i got diabetes type II and High blood presure at that time when he discovered my sugar was at 185, since that moment i was suppose to take some medication metformin 550mg and fosinopril for the High blood presure i never learn how to used the machine but everytime i went to the hosp i check it up.

After 6 months since the doc discovered these things I start a strict diet and a workout program exercise in 4 months I lost 48 lbs and my sugar and the High blood pres was getting pretty good, then i decided to get the lap band and i lost another 31 lbs.

Last week i went to see my doc and he told me i not longer need to take any of these medications both of them i'm not diabetic or have High Blood press anymore.

I'm 5 weeks post surgery and i havent had any fill in my band yet. So do it you wont regret it, it helps a lot.

  8. Hi, I live in NYC too en Queens.

I already got banded last week on 08/17.

If u want to try a diet i can tell u what i did.

I was on a diet and working out 5 days a week, what i did was replacing breakfast for a protein shake (Myoplex regular Strawberry mixed with orange juice Tropicana 50 cal) for lunch i choose a very healhty meal, try some meat or chiken, some potatoes or platain or even a little wheat pasta) avoid fried food , rice , bread and calories drinks. dont drink while u get lunch wait at least 15min. and for dinner i got a smothie 1/3 pound of strawberrys,1 banana, 1 egg(protein) and add like 8 onz of apple juice (Motts Light) u can mixed with the (Tropicana 50) i u get tired of the apple juice. Dont need to add sugar or splenda is already sweet for the juice.

This diet plus working out at the Gym 5 days a week, doing 1 hour on the treadmill burning from (1100 to 1300) calories a day and another 20 to 30 min of mixed machines.

With this routine and diet i lost 48 pounds in 4 months.

Of course u need to start the Gym slowly and then keep increasing.
