  1. Hello Acaaew! Welcome to the group! Finally another guy! I travel a lot and feel your pain in the seat department. I now fit perfectly in a seat. You’ll be there soon enough! I had the Sleeve done a few months ago and have no regrets. My thoughts about bypass are the same and many on this board have similar opinions. Both the Band and Sleeve are excellent tools and will do you well. You’ve been through a lot over the years and I think finally pulling the trigger on WLS is a great idea. I wish I had your exercise drive as my exercise fun meter is permanently fixed to zero. If we can answer any questions feel free to ask. Most of us live around SAC or the east bay and have had surgeries in Richmond. Let us know your name and better yet post it in your signature for those of us that are bad with names. Again welcome!
  2. Hi Ladies! How is everyone? Haven’t heard from Pat or Candra in a long time. Hope all is well! Thanks for all the nice comments about my weight loss! Getting ready for a long camping trip starting tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! Ash – Small sips was all I could tolerate for the first week or so. My stomach really rumbled a lot and some burping. Even three months out my stomach does summersaults after eating certain food. It will get better.
  3. Ash - So glad you are well and on the other side!!!!!!! Looking forward to the story! Chrissy is next!!! Back home!!! Yippee!!! Well I weighed myself on the Wii today and I've only lost 5.5 pounds this past month. Eating out on this trip really did me in but it’s my fault. Just so hard to eat out in front of people so I ended up eating just a little and snacking later to ensure I didn’t throw up in company. Oh well 40 pounds in three months and I’m still losing so it’s all good! Time to email Doc Who for my three month follow-up and labs.
  4. Sherri - They weigh you at every appointment. Who's who? JK. I think it may because of me but I'm not really sure. Lets see what the others say.....
  5. Ash - Bottoms up!!! Or maybe in your case down. haha
  6. Pam - Am I coming back to horrible weather? WTF. Sunny CA... Argh... I need nice weather this weekend, camping on the coast and some other crap needs done while I'm home.
  7. Riley – I hope you can read this. HAHA Glad you are doing well! 12K we should all be saving that in food over a couple years… Ok maybe a little longer… Sounds exciting!
  8. Monique – Happy birthday!!!!!! You must be quasi Jewish like Nikki that has a birthday holiday that lasts all week. Haha! Have a great week!!!! Ash - As Candra would say one night and a wake-up, or something like that!!! I'll be flying home tomorrow and can't wait to login and hear that you are well. Please update us! Best wishes!!!!! Lee - Hoping to do my labs and speak to Doc Who on the phone sometime this week. Did you ever get advanced by Robin? I never got a call. I'm having steak tomorrow night so oh well... Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!
  9. Reggie – Wishing you the best! We really miss you on here! Thanks for checking in. Keep fighting those demons best you can. Don’t be too hard on yourself! Lee – Great news! You’re doing awesome! Can’t wait to get home and weigh-in. Will chat with Doc Who next week and do my labs as well. Hope everyone is doing well!
  10. If I remember correctly there are the initial doctor appointment, psych, case manager, nutrition/pre-op class and pre-op doctor appointment.
  11. Chrissy – Congrats!! How was the CM appointment? Ash – Few more days!!!! So exciting!!
  12. Chrissy - How do they put in this filter thing? Don't forget about the baby I shot out. Have fun with the case manager appointment. Don't mention my name you'll be given an extra hard time. Sorry about the TMI. Have fun at the meeting! Wish I could be there. Seven more days until I come home...
  13. Congrats everyone for doing so well!!! Keep at it, its paying off in inches and/or pounds. Analynn – Congrats on the surgery date! It will all work it out. Put yourself first! Lee – Happy Sleeversary today!! Can’t wait to get home but not sure I want to see the scale… Maybe we could get a group rate as I might need a boob reduction and a tummy tuck???
  14. Chrissy - Yes I've had plenty of alcohol, mostly rum these past few weeks. Never really liked beer but I do like my mixed drinks. When I decided to move forward with the Sleeve being able to have some drinks here and there was a small factor. I did clear it with the doc but admit I've had a bit too much this past month being away from home. I’m still trying to figure out what best to mix rum with. Staying away from carbonated and high calorie ingredients like coke, cranberry and the like. I’ve been using crystal light to mix with when I can. Long Island's were my drink of choice but I'll now stick to a weaker drink. Good luck with the case manger appointment!
  15. Anyone hear from Reggie or Donna? They have been MIA.
  16. Hi Ali - Thanks. I've been snacking a bit, SO hard eating out in front of other people, even if they know about my surgery. I tend to eat less in front of them and snack later. Not good but I'm so afraid of sliming / puking while out. I've also been partying (alcohol) quite a bit with my friends. When I get home and weigh-in I wouldn't be surprised if I’ve not lost any weight since I left Cali. We shall see! Good Sunday to all!!!!!
  17. Hi Ladies!!!! Good Sunday! Nice day in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Just back from lunch with an old friend who is still in the Air Force. We had lunch at Panarea, I had soup. Hi Lee - Yes, happy three months!!! I lost 20 pounds the first month, 15 the second. With all the snaking and partying I’ll be lucky if I’m down 10 pounds this month. No scale here but I should be home in nine days to see. The Doc say I should be losing about 20 pounds a month… No dumping with the Sleeve.
  18. Hey Pam! Thanks for sharing. You’re kicking butt! Your effort and dedication is amazing! Have fun camping!
  19. Christine - Welcome back and congrats!! Let see some pics of Dex. I gave birth as well its name is Mea-Lost-Weight...LOL...
  20. With the band you can always (though I understand not easy / cheap) revise to VSG or RNY. That was one reason why I choose the band over RNY. The Sleeve wasn't offered in orientation until Nov/Dec, way after my second band failure. Let me tell you it may be easier losing weight with the Sleeve but it’s still hard. We need our brains fixed for perfect weight lose.
  21. Oh do I totally agreee!!!!! The band can be a great tool. Hey I tried... We shall see how the Sleeve does long term, I'm a test case. haha
  22. Hi Everyone!!!!!!! Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!! swrktp (I think its Tina?) – Yeah no fill...haha I was told my three month follow-up for the Sleeve can be by phone and/or email. I think the doc said next person to person would be a year out. Candra – I believe the Sleeve is designed to get slightly larger over time. I’m able to eat a little more this month but it all depends on what it is. Some things go down lick a brick. Thongs for everyone next year! LOL
  23. Hey Ladies! Looks like we are all doing well!! I had a couple snacks today, it’s so hard being around people and eating. Afraid of puking so I eat small but end up snacking later. Received email from my boss today asking if I want a few months work in Miami. Let’s see; military issued Kevlar, helmet, uniform, free combat flight to Middle East and other crap or a Speedo and a towel. Ok Speedo = Gross. Thirteen years ago I took the uniform off and it hasn’t fit since. It soon may fit again but hell no. This kind of stuff comes with the line of work I do but I’ll pass on the Middle East. It might take me a few days to decide Middle East or Miami... Yeah right...I said Miami no problem, but we shall see as nothing is writen in stone. Stay tuned as the folks here in Virginia keep talking about me gearing up and helping out in the sand box… Congrats Nicolie on the fill!! I think I need one. Night!
  24. Ali - Lucky you with eggs in Purees. They must have changed it. Lee? Purees were the hardest for me. Gross stuff. Candra - Hang in there! Hi EVERYONE!!!
  25. Ali - Twice in one day! Ouch! Yes one egg or 1/4 is all I could eat the first month or so. Aren't you on Puree’s? No eggs on Puree's! Sorry to hear that you’re puking as I know it’s totally different with a small stomach. I choke on the food coming out as the stomach doesn't have the mass it used to push the food up... No food has come up for me in a month or so but its scary and a very uncomfortable feeling. Some Saliva has come up a couple weeks ago but even that has decreased in frequency. Best of luck. It gets better three months out.
