Exercise Goals #2
juliansmom2003 replied to monkeymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am slllow to start this week. Yesterday and today were over 100 degrees and it's supposed to be that way tomorrow too. Thank GOD I have a pool or I would be reporting NO exercise the past 2 days. I swam for 2 hours yesterday and two hours today. I actually challenged my kids to some doggie paddle races so I KNOW I burned some calories. My bbugg is telling me I'm making my calorie burn targets too (I guess because I'm cleaning a lot here in the house). I am kind of upset with myself--I've really fallen off the wagon these past 2 days. We had a party on Sunday and while I barely ate, I sure drank some calories (and had a few smirnoffs, which are carbonated--something I NEVER do). I was so mad at myself the following day instead of going back to basics, what did I do? Started grazing on crap! It's weird-all of a sudden I have no restriction! Praying I didn't do anything to my band by having those 3 or 4 drinks. Ugh, I am soooo disappointed in myself. I am THIS close to goal and here I go letting up :-( Tomorrow is a new day they say, so I am going to really try to make my good choices and steer clear of the crap! -
banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
juliansmom2003 replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Shammah- my heart goes out to you. I remember all too well not having great restriction and having to rely solely on will power. That fill should have been your reward for working so hard sister! I don't blame you for contemplating finding another doc that has a more aggressive approach will fills! Bobbie--prayers are with you. I am so sorry you are going through yet another bout of hard times. Your positive attitude just amazes me. Christie- leave it to you to put a humorous spin on your hard time. I couldn't help but chuckle. How are you feeling today? Elfie--I hear you. We're supposed to hit 105 in NJ today. The kids are bugging me to go in the pool, but I am still burned from yesterday. Going to bite the bullet soon and go in I suppose.... Stacie- sorry to hear you had a 'bad' eating/drinking Holiday. Me too!!! I selfishly came over for some support myself because I have been eating crap for the past 2 days--chips, pretzels, ice cream... On the 4th, I actually had 2 smirnoff twisteds (and I haven't had carbonation in a YEAR)! For some reason, I CAN eat all this crap and I don't get full on anything lately! I was thinking of canceling my fill next week, but I'm definitely thinking I need it. So bummed and disappointed in myself. I have followed everything to the t until this past weekend. I need to get my $hit together!! -

Your interpretation of a perfect LapBand eating day
juliansmom2003 replied to LapNYC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Breakfast: Breakstone's Cottage cheese Doubles and a Kashi Fruit & Grain bar Lunch: Grilled chicken, green Beans, 1 starch Preworkout: banana, light cheese stick Dinner: Chicken breast w/ tossed salad Depending on what time I workout, I may have a muscle milk after for the Protein. Total for the day ends up at about 1100 to 1200 calories. Allergic to seafood, so my protein is a bit boring lol -

Denise-- LOVE the rings! And girl, I'd KILL to weigh what you do. You are a true inspiration! One of the 'normal' ones to look up to LOL Stacie--SO glad everything checked out okay and sorry to hear about the HB, but thank GOD nothing was wrong with the band. I'm sure you breathed a heavy sigh of relief (I'm breathing one for you too!) Jacki--WOW! Congrats on your loss! You SHOULD feel a sense of accomplishment! Holy wow--I'm so proud of you and CONGRATS on making that 4th of July challenge goal! I have been thinking about the C25K too, but my issue is...I have little ones (4 and 6) and a hubby that works CONSTANTLY, so I don't know when I'd have the time. It's hard enough forcing them to stay out of my hair while I do a DVD workout. Lots of times I find myself waking up at like 5:30 to get a workout in before they wake up. Maybe I could do that. But GOD I am SO not a morning person and I LOVE my sleep! LOL I'm so glad to hear about the iPhone 4! I am really excited to get it! There was an ADORABLE Juicy Couture case I saw on the Apple site, and OF COURSE it was for the 3G :-( Oh well, guess I have to wait for the cool accessories. My HUGE concern is that I have had Verizon for about 10 years and I LOVE the service (no dropped calls or issues with anything, love the customer service too) and I've heard very mixed things about AT&T not to mention now they are saying that Verizon is going to get the iPhone in January. Ugh. Oh well, I'm too much of a brat to wait (I waited this long), but if you have any good thoughts on AT&T to ease my mind about switching service, I'd LOVE to hear them! So, ordered my new DVDs today after thinking it over for about a week. I love the beachbody stuff and have been loving the TurboJam workouts. Well of course, lo and behold now there is a TurboFIRE program that takes it to the next level. TurboFire® Workout - Turbo Fire Reviews - TurboFire: Chalene Johnson's High Intensity Workout - Fitness, Nutrition, Diet, Weight Loss Official Web site It looks similar to insanity, so this should be interesting. I really want to push myself a little more and this looks like just the thing to give me a good hard kick in the as$ LOL Hope everyone has a terrific 4th. We are having a bash on Sunday. Pool is ready and I may even save some calories for a nice bottle of blush LOL. -
4th of July Challenge!
juliansmom2003 replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ugh. Down 1 more this week for a total of 7. I have lost 7 lbs since 5/17. WOWZA! I've been working out like a fiend. I guess realistically at this point I shouldn't expect to lose 2 to 3 lbs per week like I have been. It's been pretty much one per week. Hoping this fill on 7/15 will do the trick and get me to goal (12 lbs away from my first goal, 22 from my "ideal"). Thanks guys for all being here. Like Jacki, I don't know what I'd do without you all! I am SO in for the Labor Day Challenge. -
What Happens When You Reach Your Goal
juliansmom2003 replied to Barbee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You couldn't be more right, adagray! I'm 13 lbs away from goal and I feel like I've been saying that for ages! The sad thing is, it's really my first goal (I'd like to lose another 10 after that), but it's gotten soooo slow. I can't be too upset though. I haven't been this weight in over a decade ! This is the first time in my life I actually am comfortable in my own skin and if I don't ever lose another pound all of this would still be worth it! -

Am I really at THIS point?
juliansmom2003 replied to bigbipper's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Believe me, you are NOT alone in thinking or feeling the way you do. As many posters have already said, the one most popular regret is not having done this sooner, so please try to keep that in mind. If you're contemplating WLS, you are either at or near the point to do whatever it takes to get healthy and lose the weight. I will tell you this tool has been the best one to lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF, unlike all the yoyo dieting, pills and programs I have tried in the past. I am a little over 8 months in, but I know each pound I lose, it will be FOREVER gone this time. Good luck to you. It is perfectly normal to question sucj a huge decision. It definitely is a life changing one! -

juliansmom2003 replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elfie--SO glad you're back!!! We really missed you! Shammah--Any pics of the new do? Stacie--thanks! I'm really trying to stay motivated. Doesn't help when I freaking HATE exercise. Leigha--are you celebrating a victory right now? I'm thinking your C25K is in the final stage right? Woohoo!! Denise--how about my shopping addiction LOL? You know it's been awhile, so what did I go out and freaking do? Yup, iPhone 4. HUGE thing for me because it means switching from Verizon, a carrier I already love, to AT&T. Hope I won't be disappointed! I have THE worst credit, so I applied online just to see (and really not thinking I'd get approved) and low and behold, that magical little screen popped up LOL. So I get it in about 2 to 3 weeks. I am not a good "waiter" so I'm thinking about seeing if I can just go out to the store LOL. -
I'm in Onederland and Half Way to Goal! Woohoo!!!
juliansmom2003 replied to adagray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YAAAY! Congrats to you on this huge milestone!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!! -
LOL-- I have NEVER been one of those. I can eat a whole Lean Cuisine in one sitting and STILL be hungry! I know many say they can only eat one cup of food total for their meal, and I do try to keep it reasonable, but in no way does 1 cup ever satisfy me. I told my doc the same thing. He does all my fills under fluoro and I've never had a pouch issue (knock on wood). I'm very close to restriction too--I guess I just need to keep eating slowly so my brain will catch up with my tummy LOL! Next fill is July 15. I am thinking it will only be .2 or .3 ccs--I should definitely be in the green zone then. I HAVE to be LOL!

juliansmom2003 replied to monkeymama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't believe I did 6 days last week! I did slack off on Sunday...oh well. So far, yesterday my sister and I did TurboSculpt for 40 mins then 30 minute hip hop abs. This morning, I did the 30 minute hip hop abs again, so I'm in for 140 minutes for this week. We can do this! -
Yup--same here! Some days I am so ravenous I try to curb the calories, but it's really difficult when it's genuine hunger. Every day seems different, but lately, I have been noticing I am getting pretty hungry in between meals and I am able to get things down much quicker than usual. Thank goodness fill #2 is scheduled for July 15.

I am still able to eat everything. I am almost at my sweet spot, so not sure if that will change after my next fill in 2 weeks. -

What would you like to have redone first?

I am thinking a mini tummy tuck. I would love a boob lift also, but my tummy definitely needs the most work. Freaking gravity... -
6 months post up and I have a leak!!
juliansmom2003 replied to mom2cjpx4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh no! I'm so sorry! Thank God the doc did it under fluoro though and it didn't go undetected for a long period of time. I don't know of anyone this happened to, but just wanted to wish you luck on Friday. Please let us know how it goes. -

Congrats! I had one of these on Friday when I went to Victoria's Secret with my friend on our lunch hour. Being able to buy regular sizes and shop in those stores---I was so overwhelmed and happy I almost cried! Got measured while I was there too--talk about living on the wild side LOL! Congrats again! -
KEEP LOSING AND GAINING SAME 3lbs
juliansmom2003 replied to jen36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG you and I are in the exact same boat (even with the number!) I was so psyched when I saw 163 on Saturday now today I am again 164 (this is after last week going from 165, 164, 166, 164). I have no idea what the heck is going on either. The only thing I can think of is Water, so I'm going to drink 3 gallons today LOL. I'll be checking this thread to see what kind of responses you get. It's COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING, isn't it?!? -
