Mother's Day Challenge Anyone?
juliansmom2003 replied to MommyOf1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I lost 1 freaking lb during this challenge :-(! Freaking plateau! My BB arrives this week so hopefully it will help me blast through. I'm not giving up!!! Happy Mother's Day everyone! -
....how many ounces per meal do you eat?
-
So did I until I called the doc's office to confirm, then I got a surprise lol. I swear my doc takes vacation every month, so it always takes me about 4 weeks to get in for another one. I am scheduled for May 20. I am wondering what I should do now though. I am staying satisfied a little longer in between meals, but I am not satisfied with just 8 ounces and my bites are pretty big and not giving me issues. The issues with being hungry in between meals seem to have eased up a little. I swear I'll never figure this thing out. When are you scheduled to go back?
-
I think since it's so late in the day, it may be estimating. Are you on FB? They have a BodyBugg page and there are a LOT of people on there that have all the answers for newbies like us. I am so jealous you got yours! I am half tempted to use the ones I got off eBay that are sitting in my room waiting to be sold (4 days to go)..... Oh well, I guess Tuesday isn't too far away, right?

Yaay, Betsy! I bet you're going to love it! I am sure the journaling aspect isn't too bad. Honestly, I love journaling on the Daily Plate, so I figure I would already be used to it. I am so excited to get mine! I am like a little kid waiting for Christmas! 30 more-- and I'm praying it will get me there. I just had a bowl of mini wheats and now I'm wishing I had filet LOL -
I am so jealous! It looks like my BB will arrive on Tuesday and the display will arrive on Wednesday! I cannot wait!! I put the other BB and display back on eBay and someone already bid $120 (plus $10 shipping) and it has 4 more days to go, so I'm sure I'll be fine. I did a Buy It Now for $200 plus $10 shipping, so maybe I'll make a few bucks LOL! Thanks Jen and Amy for your advice! I hope this last 20 (well 30 LOL) finally start moving so I can go into maintenance!!!!
-
I'm right with you! And 2 weeks after, it seems I don't even have to chew my food and my bites are markedly bigger (I realize it after of course and pray that I don't pay for it, but nothing happens). As Betsy mentioned, make sure you're choosing foods that aren't sliding through. Hopefully it gets you through to your next fill. Were you able to schedule it or do you have to wait a certain period of time? Good luck. It really does get easier!

Wow Leigha! Leave it to you to burn that many calories when you're not exercising LOL! I can't wait for my BB to get here! It looks like it will arrive on Tuesday, so not much longer now! So, to burn the extra 300+ calories as Betsy mentioned should be easy with the 'regular' activites you maintain (especially the gardening)! The more I think about it, the more I really think the calorie deficiency is the reason for our plateaus for as much as we're burning. I am going to follow the BB recommendations for a couple of weeks and see what happens. I have nothing to lose at this point, since I'm going on 9 weeks of this blasted plateau LOL! So, I'm guessing you like your BB? I cannot WAIT to get mine! AF - welcome! I was actually walking right away. You have to take it easy with exercise the first 4 to 6 weeks, but honestly, I was doing about 1 mile per day and I was fine. I wasn't given any timing with drinking (other than no liquids 15 before and an hour after eating). Denise--CONGRATS on your NSV! Woohoo! Betsy--thanks for your kind words. I honestly don't know what I'd do without you guys and the support you constantly give. My husband, not being able to handle the thought of anything potentially bad, reacted in the man way and I just felt so alone. I knew though that between my awesome mother (who lives next door thank God) and you guys, I'd be okay though :-) Happy Mother's Day to all my banded mommies and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! xo -

OMG Denise! Sorry YOU had to go through that!! It's crazy. I wish those people would put themselves in our shoes for goodness sakes. Thank you for letting me know that it is rather common to get called back for additional views. I guess between that, them telling me this could take up to 2 hours and the fact that she asked if I was bringing someone with me kinda freaked me out. Some people have the bedside manner of WWF wrestlers LOL Thanks again!! -

Thanks, Leigha. As I told Lee Anne, I'm not going to sweat it too much if I go. I am going to look at the bright side, which is the fact that I bought supplemental cancer insurance offered through my work and I will be compensated for what the hospital bills the insurance company for this test, not only once but TWICE as I have a cancer policy AND a critical illness policy. So I'm looking at possibly $2k for both visits. So that will be my bright side for now LOL My BodyBugg should be here next week. The one I bought off eBay came yesterday (freaking lightning fast--2 days!), so I already put that one up on eBay, since it was $176 for the unit itself along with the display, which is awesome, but I'll need to purchase the online access and they do it upfront (the smallest plan is $79.95), so thanks to Amy, I got a unit and display for $255 w/ free shipping and 6 months access to the site (and from there I can pay monthly so it's not such a big chunk). Good news is, I put the sucker on eBay last night and I already have a bid in for $120 (plus $10 shipping), so I think I'll be ok. That's what I get for being a bonehead though LOL This C25K sounds really interesting. My sis and I have been working out 4-5 days a week (hip hop abs, Jililan Michaels and I've been on the ab coaster) and we are both at an annoying plateau. I'm wondering if I should consider doing this. WTG on those 2 lbs! Between your fill working again and the additional 'new' exercise, you may have jump started your body again! Be careful or pretty soon we won't be able to see you, girl ! -

Thanks Lee Anne. As you can imagine, I am a little freaked out. I asked the radiology office if I needed to come in ASAP or if I could just plan it on the 20th, since I'm off from work that day and she replied, "Either way, one week won't make a difference." Nice, thanks for that! Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words. I will be sure to let everyone know what happens. Until then, I'm not going to think about it--what's the point in getting all worried when it won't change the outcome anyway? I'm also very good at the mindset of if you don't think about it, it doesn't exist LOL Thanks again! -

Yikes, HB! That sounds painful! Burns are the worst! I would rather have a bad cut!!! I hope you feel better soon. Sorry to hear you're in a bad place bandwise. I hope you get your fill soon. Did they give you a reschedule date? As I mentioned, mine is coming up on May 20. Made the appointment last week and I was feeling the exact same as you. My 3rd fill was 4/22 and honestly I was more ravenous after I was back on solids and felt like he took some out. Now, exactly 2 weeks later, I am managing to feel less hungry between meals, but I am able to eat way too much during my meals and I'm able to take big bites and be a bonehead and not chew thoroughly (and before I used to get punished for it LOL). Goes to show I will never figure this thing out  I hope you get some relief soon with a fill! I just HATE being hungry!!!! It's the worst! -

juliansmom2003 replied to LeighaMason's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome, Lee Anne. Sounds like you're doing very well so soon post-op! I hope you continue on this path!!! WAAAAY Off Topic---So, I just got a disturbing call from my OB. I went for a baseline mammogram on Tuesday and apparently, they found a 'dense' spot and need me to come back for what is going to be a 2-hour test for additional views with the doc. The worst is, the radiologist's office was like, "Are you bringing anyone with you?" I asked, "Well, should I? Is this something serious, because I hear needing additional views is not very uncommon." And she said (of course), "I"m not allowed to say." Yeah, thanks for freaking me out! So of course, since it has to be done with a doctor there, I scheduled it for 5/20 (same day as my fill)--hell better get some use out of the day LOL. So, I'm 36 years old and being that I want to be completely healthy and good to myself this year, I decide to have a baseline done, and early by today's age standards only to have this happen. I am sure it's nothing but muscle or something minor, but please ladies, pray for me! It really puts my being pissed at a plateau SOOOOO into perspective!!! -
I went and ordered both from 24 hour fitness. When the eBay one gets here, I will just resell it on eBay. God knows, I got into a bidding war with the one I got! So when you buy the display, even though it syncs with he display right away, do you still need to upload the data from the BB itself? I am sure I will have a ton more questions after I get it. I hope it comes soon!!!!!!

Great Results....

Congrats to you on your success. I too am an Oct 09 bandster and it's nice to hear how people are doing that were banded in that time frame. Did you have to attend a seminar before getting an appt with the surgeon? Perhaps you could talk to the surgeon or whoever runs the program about being a speaker at one or you could contribute to the film strips some of them show to potential bandsters. Just a thought... -
LB Pain vs. C-Section Pain?
juliansmom2003 replied to Mommy2Ps's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here. I also had 2 c-sections and while they were both actually a piece of cake, the LB was even easier! I was only in real pain the day of surgery and the day after. Believe me, I have a VERY low threshold for pain too. Honestly, a walk in the park is the best way to describe it in comparison to a c-section. Good luck! -
Okay I just broke down and ordered it. Stinks, I missed the cutoff for processing, so I guess it will ship tomorrow. I am wondering if I really need the display though. It looks like there is an iPhone app, wonder if there is one for Bberry? Time to do the Nancy Drew bit LOL
-
Man that stinks! I am wondering if I should just suck it up, sell back the other on eBay and just get the new stuff! Makes sense, right? GRRRRRR! So I wait until next week to get it--that's not so bad I guess :-( Do you have the 10% off coupon code that I can use for the digital display? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
-
-
I actually got an amazing deal yesterday off eBay--$176 for the v3 BodyBugg AND the digital display! It already shipped, so it should be here tomorrow or Friday. Question though--does anyone know if I can get a trial subscription to their site or do I need to cough up $79 for the six months? God, wish they had a month to month plan so it's not such a big chunk of money at once......
