  1. Hi everyone..I have not been here in a long time since moving to the UK...I am reciently pregnant..yayay..very exciting when the doctor has told you this will never happen..anyway I was banded in Australia about 3 yeas ago...have PCOS...but have only lost about 110 lbs...I still want to loose about 30lbs or so...but I am completely happy where I am even though I know I am still overweight. I have not had my band adjusted in about 2 years...and happy where it is..I probably eat more then most would be able to...but it so little in my comparision...I know that I am eating a good amount for me and have been at the same weight because I havent done anything to get rid of the rest...anyway..now that I am pregnant Im worried that Im not eating enough..but Im not sure..I have tired to suppliment by adding in two Snacks and drink pure fruit and veggie juice as well to make sure that I get in more nutrients..Im not worried about getting in more calories as I am still overweight..just more nutrients. I feel fine and eat when I want to..but have lost about 3lbs since being pregnant (11wks) usually I eat something such as... B: handful of Special K Cereal (Fiber and Protein one) or 1 piece of toast with jam 1/2 banana 1 glass of milk S: piece of fruit and sometimes crisps:rolleyes: 1 glass of v8 vegatable juice L: 1/2 serving of protein (like a sausage, or veggie burger or something) 1 piece of fruit some sort of carbohitrate like a piece of wholemeal toast with jam or Go ahead bar S: no sugar added yogart or a glass of juice or milk (depends on how I feel, sometimes nothing) D: Usually 1/2 serving of protein like 3 chicken wings 1/2 serve of veggies like salad or broccoli or something S: Sometimes dessert but since Im off sweets it it might be strawberries or sometimes the rest of my dinner ..depend if I was able to finish it. Im also taking a pregnancy Vitamin that has a little Calcium, Iron and folic acid added. Anyway ..anyone have any tips?

  3. After lurking around this place I thought it was proper to start an acount thus here I am. I am 10 days post opt and feeling okay for the most part. Emotionally drained and still a bit of pain at the top of my stomach but other than that doing well. I had my surgery in Sydney Australia..which is where I live..by a lovely French Doctor whose main practice is in QLD. Since my two week preopt diet I have lost about 16 kgs (35lbs) to date. :faint: I will let you knwo of my progress as I go along. Cheers Jess

    hello...just stoping by

the pain is starting to go away..which I am so happy about ...but the liquid phase well not so good..I usually have two protien shakes, about 1/2 cup of soup, juice, and then maybe a glass of water throughout the day...I am told that Im ment to be having three protien shakes, 5 glasses of water and then that is it...grrr...so I know that may be why Im not loosing more. Im at 120kgs which makes me down 5 kgs (12lbs) since surgery. But I would like to be down 9kgs (20lbs) when I get to my 2 week follow up..so we shall see how it goes.:phanvan

    What did you pay

I paid 15,530 for my band at the Sydney private Hospital. It includes the overnight hospital stay, Fills for 13 months and 8 dietitian consults and any support groups they have. I paid out of pocket (still paying)! But I believe it is well worth it. I was told at medicare they would allow me to claim $900 back on that as well. I couldnt wait a year for insurance and defiantly not 5-10 years for medicare.
