    December Delights 2009

Hello all, We have made it to 1Yr post surgery. And I see I am not alone in the Plataeu boat. In all I have lost 50 pounds and holding. But I will admit this is partially my fault because I havent exercised the way I should. I havent had a fill since August due to scheduling and my job but I have an appointment on Tuesday. I am very nervous about this appointment because I am not sure of what the Doctor may say or do. For those who are having similar issues, what were the comments from your doctor? And for those being successful, what advice to you have for little ole me:( ?
  7. Ok, So I recieved my first fill on the 2nd while on my cycle and I have gained weight since the fill. 1st, my cycle has come on WHILE on my active birth control pills. It has been full force for over a week. Could this be because of my 40 + weight loss since November? 2nd, I got my fill and has not felt ANY restriction. It is almost like I didnt go. Now I weigh myself this morning and have gained 2.5 pounds this week. Could it be because of this pesty cycle? I need to know before I go workout and pull a muscle LOL. This is driving me crazy in more ways than one. And it doesnt help that I am snowed in with cabin fever. Everything I see I want. I need to get out of this house. HELP!!!!!!!!
  8. I was banded on December 7th and have lost 20 pounds since surgery. I got my 1st fill on Feb 2nd but havent lost anything. I havent felt any restriction until yesterday. So we shall see how the week go.

    December Bandsters 2009

Don't be nervous dear. Everything will be just fine. You have the December Delights and you will be in my prayers. Besides, they give you something to calm your nerves before you go into OR:lol:. Get some rest and get well soon.
  15. Ok so I am 9 days post op, and I can not find a comfortable way to sleep and get FULL nights rest. The crazy thing is, the uncomfortableness overrides the pain meds. Any one have any tricks and when do you feel normal again with no stomach muscle pains?

    Sleepless Nights...Need Advice

Maybe that is where the problem lay. They had me on my back and up like I was in a recliner. I will try the sleep on side with pillow technique tonight. So do I just hold the pillow or lay it under the side of my belly?

    Sleepless Nights...Need Advice

Thanks, I was just saying the other day that buying a recliner should have been on my post op shopping list. I read alot of people not having pain. I wish I was one of them. I believe it has to do with the surgeons and their techniques. There should be one uniform way for this surgery so I am be in the NO PAIN GANG.

    December Bandsters 2009

I am doing pretty well. I know I have earlier posts of pain and yes I was in pain. However, each person tolerates pain differently. I had never had any surgery before so my threshold for pain is VERY LOW. But with this entire experience, I would do this all over again. On your day of surgery, be relaxed. You go in and then you are out. All I remember is the OR table and waking up in recovery. WALK WALK WALK as soon as you are able. It really helps with the gas pains. And if you are in pain, take the meds. No one will think of you as a wuss. Good luck dear. Not feeling hungry all the time is the best feeling ever.

I am so jealous of those you have hardly any pains or gas pains and don't need pain meds lol. I just KNEW I would be one of those people.:willy_nilly: LOL I guess everyone has a different threshold of pain.
  20. Today makes 1 week since my surgery and everything had gotten better until yesterday when I rode to take my Mother back to the airport. Now I feel like day 3 all over again but with no pain meds. I only have one dose left of my pain meds and this pain woke me up last night. I couldnt move it hurt so bad. Is this a normal reaction when you over do it too soon. Has anyone had this happen? What should I do?:willy_nilly:
  21. Thanks, I have called the nurse and just waiting on a return phone call. But on a brighter note, I am taking liquids and eating very well. :willy_nilly:
  22. As for the pain meds, I would be fine for something less than the percocet they have given me. I have been looking for the liquid tylenol and have been very unsuccessful. I just need something to help me sleep through this port pain at night until it heals. Other than that, I would be up looking at the ceiling. Thanks you guys.

Today is Day 7 post op for me. Since taking my pain meds like I should, everything has been going great. Today I actually felt hunger when my mother walked past me with a plate of lasagna:drool:. Made me wonder if I could handle something a lil more than jello and broth like some cream of wheat or a liquified soup. I will prolly try the soup today. Make it real "soupy" lol. Glad everyone are doing better!!!!
  24. this is day 4 for me but I felt the same way the first couple of days. Today was a very good day for me. Just keep walking and take your meds. Every thing will be better soon.:rolleyes2:

    December Delights 2009

Thank you GOD!! Today was a good day!!! I was able to get myself out of my HIGH bed this morning. I had an entire jello, boost, and plenty of water today. I only had 2 doses of pain meds since I woke up. Mainly due to me trying to have a BM. I know TMI. I have really had a very pleasant day. So just like the others who stated before IT GETS BETTER!!! I am on my way fellow bandsters. :rolleyes2:
